The purpose of this thesis is to inquire how a small town can be affected by some planned changes in the physical structure of the town, and how its inhabitants can benefit from those major changes. The town in question is Ulricehamn, and of the four projects considered, two concerns infrastructure. A new railway and a new locality for the major road, today passing through Ulricehamn. The other two projects are run by the local authorities, that is the planning of a modern town park by the lake, and a new public building for cultural purposes. There are no guarantees that any of the four projects will ever be realized, but in the process with this work, they have been considered as already a fact.

This thesis deals with information provision to the knowledge intense biotechnology businesses of Ideon Science Park in Lund, Sweden. Previous research concerning the information needs of Science Park companies has been conducted from the information provider s perspective. Instead, we apply a user perspective to find out what information needs these companies have, and how they prefer to acquire information. Central terms are: information, -needs, -acquisition, -consciousness, -strategy, small and medium sized enterprises, scientists and engineers, information (resources) management, networks, tacit knowledge, knowledge transfer and innovative milieux. The companies need scientific and business information; the latter is easily obtained within Ideon.

The public service within health and care has changed remarkably during the last 30 years. It has been inspired by management ideas from profit-making businesses. Those thoughts are an umbrella term called Nex public management. In what way has New public management influenced the public service in Sweden? To gain maximum bonus the management will try to manipulate the result in a way that in a long term maximize their utility. Through the earnings management technique Big Bath the management is given the possibility to take one large cost as a one-time expend, even though the cost is supposed to run over several financial years. This, of course, within the legal framework. A big bath may occur when there is an impairment of goodwill, tangible and/or intangible assets or larger provisions for future expense, or both of them at the same time..

Arbetar man med att planera våra offentliga rum har man förhoppningsvis inställningen att dessa rum ska stimulera alla sinnen. För att kunna göra detta måste man veta vad det är som behöver stimuleras. Boverket, den nationella myndigheten för frågor om samhällsplanering, stads- och bebyggelseutveckling, byggande och förvaltning och för bostadsfrågor, är en av de instanser som arbetar för att planera för alla sinnen. Dock ligger fokus fortfarande på att minska de negativa intrycken, och göra platser tillgängliga, till exempel att minska buller, och bygga ledstråk. Att alla sinnena och alla delar av sinnena stimuleras på ett positivt sätt är viktigt, särskilt för barn då deras utveckling är avhängigt det.

AquaPark är en badanläggning i Szolnok, Ungern, belägen i en vacker park med närmare 500 träd. Parken, bassängerna och byggnaderna rymmer aktiviteter får såväl unga som gamla, sommar som vinter.
