Volvo Construction equipment is one of the worlds largest manufacturer of heavymachinery. In Braås, Sweden, they develop and manufacture articulated haulers inseveral sizes. The biggest, the A40, is capable of loading almost 40 metric tonnes.These haulers have a bogie to distribute the forces of the load evenly onto the two axlesand there wheels. The bogie is constructed using a rigid balance beam on each side ofthe frame connecting the axles or an independent solution using hydropneumatics.An analysis has been made in order to establish the forces created during corneringand through the theory, an estimation of the extensive tyre wear and extra fuelconsumption has been made. All due to the effects of the tyres not being inline with thecornering radius.

Integrerat Performance Management System -En studie om ett ledningssystems påverkan inom Volvo

The research within the management control systems-field and more specifically performance management has been rather shallow and not much has happened the last decades besides the balanced scorecard. The researchers see a lack of studies focusing on the effects of an integrated performance management system and also how it affects the different hierarchical levels and the tasks to perform.We decided to perform an essay with case study-characteristics by looking at both the strategic and tactical level at Volvo Group, or more specifically Group Trucks. We performed three different interviews, one at the group level and two at the division level. The aim was to see what effect an integrated performance management system had on the tactical level (i.e. the divisions).Our findings and corresponding analysis suggested that Volvo was a rather centralized company in order to get the performance management system to work by enabling a ?weekly control?.

When traffic in large cities increases, it becomes more vulnerable to disturbances such as accidents, stalled vehicles or construction; therefore, traffic jams are more likely to occur. For better control of the traffic at a disturbance the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA) has traffic equipment which can be controlled from a command centre. This traffic equipment consists of gates and signs with variable messages. This report will discuss the system used for traffic control in Stockholm. It will present proposals designed to improve it.

Examensarbetet är utfört på Volvo Construction equipment Components AB i Eskilstuna. Där tillverkas transmissioner och axlar till hjullastare och ramstyrda dumprar. Uppgiften har varit att ge förslag på en layout med bästa potentiella monteringsupplägg på transmissionsmonteringen, baserat på prognostiserad volym år 2006. Stationsmontering är det rådande produktionsupplägget. Det faktum att monteringstiden är lång och att det förekommer dolt montage gör det lätt att glömma detaljer.

This paper is a study of documentary film production with focus on the filmmakers choice and usage of sound equipment. Using professional articles and literature have first of all helped us determine a standard for the conventional use of sound equipment in documentary film. Afterwards, by analyzing our own interviews we?ve received answers on how filmmakers relate to the conventional usage and why they select equipment as they do. Thereafter, we describe a technical method which helps a filmmaker to be able to record sound for documentary film on his/her own, using simple measures without reducing quality.

Syftet med denna studie var att försöka hitta de teser Min Volvo Magazine driver för att forma sin image. För att få svar på syftet har kritisk retorikanalys använts. Vad skriver Min Volvo Magazine om och vem är den tänkta målgruppen. Vem identifierar sig med budskapet och vem gör det inte och känner sig utanför ?Vi som kör Volvo gruppen? Huvudfrågorna var: Vilken image vill Volvo bli förknippad med? Och vad kan de retoriska valen som Volvo gör ha för effekt på identifikation respektive åtskillnad?Studien har använt sig av teorier som identifikation och etos.

Made by Sweden : en semiotisk innehållsanalys av hur Volvo och Ikea (re)producerar en nationell svensk identitet

Den här etnologiska uppsatsen undersöker hur Ikea och Volvo reproducerar en svensk identitet genom sin marknadsföring. Detta görs genom en semiotisk innehållsanalys av två reklamfilmer från 2013 och 2014 från Volvo, samt genom fältobservationer på Ikeas varuhus i Kungens Kurva, Stockholm. Uppsatsens teoretiska utgångspunkter bygger på Stuart Halls resonemang kring representationer, samt tidigare forskning kring nationell identitet. I den semiotiska innehållsanalysen undersöks hur varumärkena använder sig av tecken, symboler och ikoner som fungerar som representationer av en svensk identitet, representationer som är budskapsbärare av normer, värderingar och mening. Undersökningen visar att varumärken som Ikea och Volvo upprätthåller, reproducerar och konstituerar en föreställning om en svensk identitet och därmed även den nationella gemenskapen..

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva projektets gång och redogöra de olika val som har gjort. I projektet har jag sammarbetat med Volvo personvagnari Göteborg där jag också har suttit och arbetat. The aim of this thesis is to map the current internal information flow at Volvo Uddevalla, to detect obstacles in the flow and to find out how these obstacles can be avoided. The aim is also to describe how a corporation, in this particular case Volvo Uddevalla, creates knowledge and use information. The study is performed in order to create a base for the coming implementation of a new information standard. The method used is conducting an information audit investigating the current management of documentation according to the changes that have to be made to carry out the claims from the standard. The investigation is made by way of interviews with 16 of the employees at Volvo Uddevalla.

It is of interest to describe how a physical rehabilitation center can be planned and which spaces and equipment to prioritize. In this study, data of different spaces and equipment for a physical rehabilitation center for dogs are presented and also the economical perspective is introduced as a background.

Volvo Cars in Skövde manufacture and assemble Volvo engines. When attaching the ignition coil to all 4-cylinder engines, a special mounting tool is required. This mounting tool is currently manufactured from injection-molded polyoxymethylene (POM), a thermoplastic. It has been noted that the life span of the tool is shortened as a result of abrasive wear that occurs during the attachment process of the ignition coil.An investigation of the possibility of manufacturing the mounting tool with a 3D-printer is undertaken in cooperation with ÅF, a consultant to Volvo Cars. A literature study is first presented to introduce broader knowledge on the subject.
