Syftet med denna uppsats är att bidra med en utökad kunskap kring generation Y, som definieras som bestående av 80- och 90-talister, och deras arbetsvärderingar. Genom att undersöka vilka arbetsvärderingar svenska 80- och 90-talister besitter diskuteras begreppet generation Y och om dessa båda grupper kan betraktas som enhetliga gällande arbetsvärderingar. En enkätundersökning genomfördes bland svenska högskolestudenter. Utifrån resultatet av denna samt ett teoretiskt underlag har vi gett förklaringar till 90-talisternas syn på arbetsvärderingar. Denna syn har sedan jämförts med enkätresultatet med avseende på 80-talister för att därefter jämföras med tidigare kunskap om 80-talisternas arbetsvärderingar. Slutligen har innebörden av jämförelsen diskuterats med avseende på generationsbegreppet utifrån tidigare forskning. Efter genomförd studie kan vi konstatera att det är de inre arbetsvärderingarna som värderas högst av generation Y, följt av de yttre och de frihetsrelaterade.

Studiens syfte var att underso?ka sambanden mellan yrkesetisk bedo?mning och ansta?llningstid samt eventuella skillnader i a?lder och ko?n fo?r att o?ka befintlig kunskap om vad som pa?verkar yrkesetiska bedo?mningar.

Eight libraries, seven public libraries and one college library, in the northeast of Skåne serve as foundation in a collaboration where students and adult learners are placed in the center of attention. The aim of this Master's thesis in library and information science was to study how the students and adult learners in the northeast of Skåne perceive the library services that are developed with their needs in mind.Our method for this thesis was a quantitative interview study. We aimed to conduct interviews with users at the public libraries within the cooperation and thereby find out whether or not users within the target group were aware of the services that are developed and established within the northeast Skåne collaboration.The results showed that only a few respondents in the key target group did in fact know about certain parts of the library services especially developed for the northeast of Skåne-collaboration. The majority of the key target group also thought that study-related literature and reading rooms were the most important means that the libraries have to offer them in their studies. The northeast of Skåne-collaboration had many ideas concerning library services.

Ideella organisationer verkar utan kommersiella vinstintressen och är icke-offentliga. De spelar en viktig roll i vårt samhälle och får allt mer utrymme och uppmärksamhet. Som alla andra arbetsplatser utgör de ideella organisationerna en arena för arbetsplatslärande. Syftet med min studie är att analysera och beskriva samt få djupare förståelse för arbetsplatslärande i en ideell organisation. Studien bygger på en empirisk undersökning med kvalitativa intervjuer av volontärer i en secondhandbutik.

This Master?s thesis is connected to an interdisciplinary field between Humanities and health care; ?humanistic medicine? or ?humanistic nursing?. The object of the investigation is nursing students? experiences of reading fiction and autobiographies as course literature. In semi-structured interviews a group of students talk about their reading.

The main aim in this thesis is to analyse the attitudes of fivearchaeologists at the Department of History, University ofGothenburg, on the subject of scholarly publishing injournals. The investigation has been led by a set of questionsconcerning the motives and conditions for submitting articlesto scholarly journals.The primary way of collecting emprical data is based onsemistructured qualitative interviews. To get a broaderpicture, the publishing patterns of the archaeologists at theDepartment of History were mapped using the databaseGöteborgs universitets publikationer (GUP). A documentstudy was also conducted.The analysis uses Björk & Holmström?s The net value ofsubmission model to highlight which factors are assumed toinfluence an author when submitting to a scientific journal.This model is reduced and developed to six aspects whichmore or less effect the decision making of the author whenpublishing an article in a scientific journal.

Internet access has been a part of the range in public libraries for approximately a decade. The Swedish municipals, in charge of the public libraries, and the libraries themselves, have a great deal of saying in how they should be run, what to offer the public, how many hours they have to stay open etcetera. The Library law is very vague on many things, including public Internet access. Even though Sweden is ranked as first runner up worldwide when it comes to Internet penetration among the population (Internet World Stats 2007), approximately twenty percent in the 16-74 age group does not have Internet access at home, at work or at school (SCB 2006a). In this master thesis we try to determine, through personal interviews, how six of those in charge feel about Internet at their libraries, all located in medium-sized municipals (20 000 ? 40 000 inhabitants), why they have chosen the rules and regulations they have and their thoughts about what they consider to be the most important assignment of public libraries.

Hjalmar Söderbergs romaner presenterar en hel del olika kvinnobilder. Det handlar om dom svaga typiserade och schablonmässiga från romanerna: Ellen, en förtyckt arbetarflicka, Dagmar som på något sätt försöker bevara husfriden till allt pris, Harriet Skotte en kvinna för kärlekens och tidens ideal. Det handlar även om de nya starka kvinnobilderna från perioden kring sekelskiftet: Märta som representant för den borgarkvinna medveten om sin tids moral, den okända kvinnan som skildras med en inre styrka som gör att hon håller emot den orättvisa könsrelationerna och samtidigt älskar sin man för kärlekens skull, inte lojaliteten, vi har Helga Gregorius som tar sitt äktenskap i egna händer och försöker styra sin framtid, och slutligen den starkaste kvinnobilden av dem alla, Lydia. Lydia, en kvinnobild som tävlar på samma villkor som männen, som är i makt över sin egen sexualitet och samtidigt lever ett liv som sedan länge innan hade varit vigt åt männen. Detta är vad uppsatsen försöker presentera, en ny syn på Hjalmar Söderbergs romankonst och hans kvinnobilder. Hur nära den verkliga samtiden låg Söderbergs beskriving av kvinnorna? Det är en central fråga för uppsatsen.

För att förändra behövs tillgång till kompetenser. Olika verksamheter har olika behov av kompetensutveckling för att nå sina mål. Att finna behov av kompetenser i förhållande till verksamhetens mål, kan vara en början på att rätt kompetens hamnar på rätt plats utifrån de satsningar som görs. En utvärdering kan göras för att utvisa om verksamheten är på rätt väg mot förändring. Uppsatsens syfte är att skapa förståelse för kompetensutvecklingens betydelse för att verksamheten ska kunna förändras.

The relation between LIS and physical bibliography is examined primarily through an analysis of such LIS literature as applies physical bibliography in research or otherwise discusses its relevance to information studies. Quite a number of scholars are stressing the usefulness of this bibliographical tradition, even though its position in LIS agenda as a whole seems to be less established. These scholars suggest that physical bibliography presents interesting conceptual and theoretical implications for many of the central objects of study in LIS, for example, knowledge organization, information retrieval, and information seeking. It is also suggested that physical bibliography could help deepen our knowledge and understanding of the digital media ecology. Physical bibliography is foremost seen as a method for the analysis of documents, a method in which not least its terminological apparatus may be a significant tool.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine how exchange students experience looking for information in their new life situation during a semester in Prague. A further purpose is to investigate what barriers they have faced and how this affected their information behavior. Six qualitative interviews of students constitute the empirical foundation for the study. The interviewees are from six different European countries, were all participating in the Erasmus program, and all had social sciences/Humanities/art as their main subject.

The objective of this Bachelor thesis is to analyze moving patterns in Norrköping?s municipality. The main aim is to analyze the migration to, from, and within the municipality of Norrköping, not only for the population as a whole but also for groups of special interest. Another aim is to compare migration patterns in Norrköping with those of other municipalities in Sweden.Several data sets have been used, each of them extracted from population statistics carried out by Statistics Sweden (SCB).Data mining using association analysis is used for finding the migration pattern within Norrköping?s municipality and several questions are examined using descriptive statistics.

The purpose of this master´s thesis is to examine how the cultural exchange function of Swedish libraries may be perceived on their websites. A further intention is to examine how the library websites are used at the present. Two quantitative web-based surveys have been sent out to a great number of Swedish public libraries. The first survey was directed to the webmasters of the libraries, in order to review the different services offered by the Swedish library websites of today. The second survey was conducted with library directors, in order to visualise what services they consider ought to be present on their own library website.

Inom ramen för dagens snabba samhällsutveckling ställs det höga krav på moderna, flexibla metoder för det livslånga, livsvida lärandet. Detta kräver att utbildningsanordnare är uppdaterade och förändringsbenägna i sitt ledarskap. Det är också viktigt att lyfta blicken och informera sig om vad som händer och sker i världen. För att kunna uppfylla dessa krav har det krävt förändringar i nationella styrdokument.
