In this study we pose the question if you through finding patterns in implementation of checkpoints can find ways to tailor the experience of the game A Story About My Uncle to hardcore gamers. To find out the answer we had hardcore players playing a modified level from the game A Story About My Uncle that was used as Stimulus material for the following focus group interview. The analysis of the gathered material resulted in four patterns that can be used when implementing checkpoints to tailor the experience of the game A Story About My Uncle to hardcore gamers. Elements of checkpoints that our study showed to be important when it comes to how the game is experienced are density, placement and clearness..

W. Ickes, L. Stinson, V, Bisonette och S. Garcia (1990) standard Stimulus paradigm är en metod för att mäta avläsning av en individs tankar och känslor. För att undersöka tjejer och killars empatiska avläsningsförmåga testades gymnasieelever med Ickes metod.

Kognitiv beteendeterapi för primär insomni är inte lika effektivt som KBT för annan problematik. Behandlingen har mest fokuserat på förändring av sömn och bortsett från andra faktorer som kan bidraga till problematiken. Denna studie syftade till att utvärdera effekten av att addera en intervention mot en ytterligare faktor, nämligen oro, till behandling. Studien hade en single subject-design med två betingelser, med och utan oroshantering, för- och eftermätning och sju deltagare. Resultaten tyder på att metoden konstruktiv oro tillförde bättre utfall på sömn, oro och daglig funktion.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att med utgångspunkt i en fokusgrupp identifiera ett personalvetarperspektiv på initiering av organisationsförändring och analysera detta i förhållande till en modell för organisationsförändring samt diskutera konsekvenserna av att inte ta hänsyn till detta perspektiv. Utgångspunkten var kvalitativ. Den valda metoden var en fokusgrupp. I fokusgruppen användes ett Stimulus material i form av en fiktiv situation. Denna kompletterades sedan med uppföljande individuella intervjuer.

In this study I investigated whether the strength in the manual response for emotional and neutral Stimulus search arrays can explain some of the difference in reaction times (RT:s) for emotional stimuli, or not. Earlier, perceptual, cognitive and attentional processes has mostly been used to explain the variance in RT:s. Thirtythree individuals were asked to, as fast as possible, detect a target picture among distractor pictures in 3 rows x 4 columns arranged search arrays. The pictures were categorized in fear relevant animals (snake, spider) and neutral animals (cat). The results showed, more correct responses for cat target.

The study examined school pricipals and career counselors approach to guidance work with gifted students and how the above mentioned professionals received information about gifted students. It was further examined what measures were applied to adjust the upper secondary school to the needs of gifted students. Qualitative interviews were conducted and the results showed that in cases where the informants were told it took place in conjunctions with seminars about the class, through grades or through a teacher or the students themselves who contacted the career counselor or principal at the upper secondary school.The giftedness was connected to the school curriculum and various course topics in the secondary programs. School principals viewed the career counselor as an important resource to provide motivational support, individualize and survey future plans.

The purpose of this study was to find out how special needs users ' autonomy and influence in their daily routines is described by their assistants. What interpretations of the concepts of self-determination and influence on special needs users' daily routines emerge from the assistants statements and what conditions can be seen? To reach a conclusion, focus group as a method was used. The focus group met twice to discuss this topic. The diamond method was used as Stimulus material to support the discussion in the focus group.

Inom kognitionsvetenskapen växer det på flera håll fram konkurrenter till det synsätt på språklig kognition som förespråkats främst av lingvisten Noam Chomsky. Han har argumenterat för att barns förmåga till att snabbt förvärva språks grammatiska komplexitet, beror på att all världens språk delar en underliggande universell grammatik som finns inkodad i människohjärnan från födseln. Enligt denna syn betraktas grammatik som ett abstrakt regelstyrt system, slutet och utan direkt påverkan från omgivningen. Efterföljande forskning har kommit att visa på många svårigheter för denna hypotes, varvid alternativa ansatser har trätt fram. Som ett resultat försöker många forskare numera istället förklara färdigheter i grammatik som en förlängning av kognitiva och kommunikativa förmågor. Due to deficiency in dementia care, the government has commissioned the National Board of Health and Welfare to develop national guidelines for health care services to people with dementia and support for their relatives. It has been allocated Stimulus funds that may be applied for to work on improvements in dementia care. In August 2010 these guidelines formed the basis for a decision made that collaboration would take place between the county and the municipalities regarding dementia care in Halland, named Anna's path. The aim of this study is to investigate, analyse and describe how our respondents in the project Anna?s path are planning and preparing for the implementation of the registry of quality BPSD - Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att med hjälp av fokusgruppsintervjuer med män mellan 25 och 35 år, belysa deras syn på konsumtion på köpcentrum. Vi använder oss av en kvalitativ metod i form av fokusgruppsintervjuer. Vi utförde tre fokusgrupper där respektive grupp bestod av fyra till fem män mellan 25 och 35 år. Vi använder oss av teorier om miljö, beteende och genus för att förstå de faktorer män ser som betydande i köpcentret. Vi utgår från en egen modell baserad på S-O-R-paradigmet, Servicescape- och Servuctionsmodellen.

According to the relevant passage in ?On Truth and Lie?? an image is first created as a metaphor for a Stimulus and a word is then created as a metaphor for the image.

Svenska är ett kvantitetsspråk där vokalernas längd kan vara betydelsebärande och förmågan att visuellt kunna diskriminera mellan vokalers längder kan vara en relevant komponent i talsignalen. I denna studie undersöktes hur visuell diskriminationskänslighet för vokalduration förehåller sig till läppavläsning.  Experimentbatteriet bestod av tre delar: visuell vokaldurationsdiskrimination (VDD), icke?lingvistisk durationsdiskrimination (ILDD) samt visuell ordidentifikation. VDD och ILDD baserades på en 2AFC?design där uppgiften var att bedöma vilket av två stimuli som presenterades under längst tid.

Placeboeffekten; att få klinisk effekt av inaktiv behandling är ett fenomen som tilldrar sig allt större intresse. Trots att mekanismerna bakom effekten ännu är långt ifrån helt klarlagda så finns en stor mängd forskning som visar att placebobehandling på olika vis kan vara av klinisk relevans. Bland de mest imponerande demonstrationerna av placeboeffekten är de experiment som visar att s.k. klassisk betingning kan påverka immunförsvaret. Experiment har visat att detta är möjligt både hos gnagare och människor: en medicin administreras samtidigt som ett neutralt gustatoriskt Stimulus i vad som kallas betingningsfasen.

The purpose of this study was to compare normal electroretinographies (ERGs) from three different canine breeds in order to evaluate if there were any marked similarities or differences between these breeds as to ERG responses. It is known that healthy dogs from different breeds but also dogs within the same breed but in different age categories may have different appearances of their ERG responses. This may be a problem when evaluating if an ERG is normal or not from a dog within a breed not previously examined. Because of this it is important to obtain normal values for each breed and age group in order to be able to use these for later comparisons of ERGs obtained from individuals affected with various retinal diseases. In this study we have chosen to examine dogs within the three breeds: Labrador Retriever (LR), English Springer Spaniel (ESS) and Chinese Crested Dog (CCD). All of these breeds may be affected with hereditary retinal diseases such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It is possible that ERG-responses vary due to a number of different factors.
