In November 2010, The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (Sveriges Kommuner och Landsting) distributed a survey where 53 % of the responding municipalities declared that they use Twitter. Out of the municipalities that declared they did not use social media, 49 % answered that they were planning on using it but that they had not gotten started. The purpose with social media was primarily declared to be maintaining dialogue with citizens and a channel for information.The informal ?twittersphere? is a new environment for the conventionally formal government communication, and with it comes an entirely new set of demands on the style and content of texts, compared to other media. The purpose of my work was to present a style proposal for the public sector?s communication on Twitter, with the help of theory and empirical data.My methods consisted of text analysis and qualitative interviews.

Permanent uppehÄllstillstÄnd till syriska flyktingar : diskursanalysom ansvar, stereotyper och EU

Syftet med uppsatsen Àr att undersöka den diskurs som följde i svensk media efter migrationsverkets beslut att ge syriska flyktingar permanent uppehÄllstillstÄnd.Metoden som vi har utgÄtt ifrÄn Àr kritisk diskursanalys och innehÄllsanalys. Som data har vi valt ut tolv artiklar och tvÄ TV-program.Resultatet visar att media Àger den makt som gör att de fÄr avgöra hur ett sÄdant beslut ska presenteras och diskuteras. Resultatet visar Àven att media anvÀnder idag en annorlunda diskurs jÀmfört med 1980 och 1990 talet.Media kan med sin makt avgöra vem som ska/inte ska uttrycka sig. En ?Vi? och ?De? skapas av media som skiljer mellan den etablerade och den oetablerade i samhÀllet.

"Det blir fÀllande dom i HovrÀtten grabbar" : En fallstudie om Dagens Nyheters och Expressens rapportering kring vÄldtÀktsfallet med de tvÄ sÄ kallade Stureplansprofilerna

In our case study we investigate how media chose to illuminate the process of court proceedings concerning a one specific rape case in Sweden during the spring and autumn 2007. For our study we have chosen to investigate two Swedish daily newspapers, one known to be a serious morning newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, and the other an evening tabloid newspaper Expressen. We would like to see whether the reports of the trial diverge and if that is, how they differ.The rape took place in Stockholm?s posh area named Stureplan in March 2007. The two men 21 and 25 years old, accused for the crime were acquitted after the first instance.

Kan hon - sÄ kan du!? : En diskursanalytisk studie av tidningen Amelias bild av kvinnan.

Syftet med studien Àr att genom diskursanalys lyfta fram exempel pÄ medias bild av kvinnan. Materialet för analysen bestÄr av artiklar som berör skönhet, kropp och hÀlsa i tre nummer av tidningen Amelia samt bilder pÄ tidningens omslag. Samtliga omslags bilder visar stylade, leende kvinnor som visar hur en kvinna kan, lÀs ska se ut, vilket följs upp inne i tidningarna dÀr vi fÄr förslag pÄ val av handlingar för att uppnÄ samma (sjÀlv)bild. De funna resultaten kopplas till socialpedagogikens; det sociala arbetets arena, som handlar om mÀnsklig tillvÀxt, relationer, kommunikation samt tilltro till individen som kapabel att vÀlja och förhÄlla sig till rÄdande explicita och implicita normer i den samhÀlleliga kontexten. Normerna bygger pÄ mönster av makt, som kan relateras till uppfattning och attityder gentemot individers delaktighet i samhÀllet utifrÄn hur avvikande val kring skönhet, kropp och hÀlsa bestraffas.

Kvinnligt och manligt i Veckorevyn : - En kritisk diskursanalys

The purpose of this paper is to explore how masculinity and femininity are constructed in the magazine Veckorevyn, through a critical discourse analysis of 18 articles from six issues in 2011. This is done by using a variety of theories and previous research results, which is gender theory, the theory of late-modern society and media theory. The analysis shows that Veckorevyn depicts virility and feminine differently. Furthermore, pointing the results from the analysis that a change of manhood and womanhood takes place in the social practice. The selection of articles from the magazine also shows that Veckorevyn seems to promote gender equality. .

Det skamliga missbruket - Om hur kvinnorollen pÄverkar kvinnors missbrukskultur

The purpose of this essay is to examine how gender rolls influences the culture of substance abuse among women and their social situation. To demonstrate this we have concentrated our research to relate how scientists and the media describe problems of abuse among women. The method we used in our research was qualitative and we gathered information through literature, reports and articles.Our main questions are:Do the social attitude toward women and men differ and how does it affect problems of abuse among women? Do women use alcohol in a different way than men? How do social reactions and restrictions influence women? We also want to examine what position women substance abusers have in society. What similarities or differences are there between the image of women in general and women with substance abuse?The main result of the study is that we found discursive connections that show a rectification among scientists concerning substance abuse among women.

During several years we have been able to follow the victories and disappointments of Ludmila Engqvist through the scrutinising eye of the media. This essay will deal with how media?s picture perception of Ludmila Engqvist has changed by analysing articles from the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen from 1996 to 2001. Why and how the media?s picture has changed will be analysed through the perspectives of Ludmila Engqvist being an elite athlete, immigrant and woman.

Women and men's equal, or unequal treatment has long been a topic of conversation and the workplace is a place where the topic has been and continues to be in question. This study examines the jargon and culture within student-run companies in Gothenburg from a gender equality perspective, focusing on female and male perceptions. The study poses the research question: What does the culture and jargon look like in student-run companies in Gothenburg from a gender equality perspective? The choice of method for the study has been qualitative semi-structured interviews, which has been performed on current and former employees from several student-run companies in Gothenburg. The results show, on average, that the jargon and culture are perceived as relatively equal, but that there can be considerable variation across different areas.

SammanfattningDenna undersökning grundar sig pĂ„ mina tidigare erfarenheter frĂ„n fritidshemmet, dĂ€r jag fĂ„tt uppfattningen att fritidshemmen ger fĂ„ möjligheter till media- och IT-anvĂ€ndning och att verksamheten dĂ€rigenom förlorar en del barn tidigare. Syftet med undersökningen Ă€r att ta reda pĂ„ om det finns en koppling mellan IT- och mediaanvĂ€ndningen pĂ„ fritidshemmet och nĂ€r barn slutar pĂ„ fritids. Arbetet utgĂ„r frĂ„n dessa tre frĂ„gestĂ€llningar: Upplever barnen att det finns för fĂ„ möjligheter att anvĂ€nda IT och media pĂ„ fritidshemmet? Är i sĂ„ fall bristen av IT och media pĂ„ fritidshemmet en anledning till att barn slutar? Hur Ă€r pedagogernas syn pĂ„ fritidshemmets IT- och mediaanvĂ€ndning? För att besvara dem genomfördes en enkĂ€tundersökning med elever, samt kvalitativa intervjuer med fritidspedagoger.Dagens samhĂ€lle har förĂ€ndrats mycket under de senaste Ă„ren. Den digitala tekniken fĂ„r en större betydelse i barns liv.

Vad hÀnde sen? : Medieelevers syn pÄ arbete efter gymnasiet

I have in my thesis performed a survey that builds on interviews of five former students at Mediepedagogiskt Center (Mpc) that is located at Sundsta-Älvkullegymnasiet in Karlstad which is incorporated into Karlstads-Hammarö comprehensive upper secondary school. The sample group of students all has various withdrawal years between 1997 - 2004. The aim of the survey is to evaluate any direct qualities that these students have had that helped them to get a occupation within the media industry after the completion of their education at Mpc. This survey also tries to evaluate whether the orientation of their particular style of education is a factor for achieving employment. Before 1998 the course was divided into three A and B-level courses within the directions, photography, graphic design, text communication, sound production and film/television. After 1998 these are now divided into one A, B and C level courses, and one another level courses on A and B-level. The result shows that something more than? just? a good schooling with high grades is needed to succeed into getting a occupation within the media sector.

Girls in honour cultures have been the subject of many studies and are often debated in the media. The purpose with this study was to focus on boys in honour cultures. I wanted to understand the situation of boys in honour cultures with a perspective of the rights of children. My central questions were: How is it to be a boy in honour cultures? Are boys in honour cultures exposed? How are they exposed? My study was a qualitative study in which I interviewed four professionals who meet boys in honour cultures in their work.
