This study was built on the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) as an ability with four branches, to effectively: (1) perceive (2) reason (3) understand and (4) manage emotions. By closely studying the four processes of EI through eight semistructured interviews with psychologists, counselors, CBT-therapists and psychotherapists, a study of participants' stories from real practice was done and then analyzed and interpreted. The purpose of this study was to get the participants to describe and put words on practical experiences that occur with clients that correspond to the four domains that define the concept of EI according to Mayer et al. (2008) and find out about if their way of "doing" EI gets trained and developed after several years of professional activity. The results shows that the practitioners used all four branches of EI in dialog with the client, both intra- and interpersonal.

Bakgrund: Högskolan Kristianstad ger sjuksköterskestudenter möjlighet att göra utlandspraktik. Sjuksköterskestudenter som gör utlandspraktik i ett utvecklingsland erfar upplevelser som påverkar studentens framtida profession, internationella perspektiv, personliga och intellektuella utveckling. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskestudenters upplevelser av att göra utlandspraktik i ett utvecklingsland som Sri Lanka. Metod: En kvalitativ empirisk studie genomfördes som grundades på subjektiva dagboksanteckningar i berättelseform. Datainsamlingen har analyserats med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

This master's thesis sets out to explore information literacy in a contextualized learning environment with emphasis on students at a vocationally oriented program in the Swedish upper secondary school. The concept of information literacy is widely discussed and furthermore a common subject for research within the field of Library and Information Science. Information literacy can be described as a set of skills or a range of attributes defining an information literate person. The skills and/or attributes facilitating the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills are often linked to knowledge about computers and libraries.Another view on the concept of information literacy has been developed by the Australian researcher Annemaree Lloyd. She stresses the importance of social and physical information sources and that these also should be included in the development of information literacy.

I denna studie ställs följande frågor; hur resonerar lärare kring valet av terminologi i sin sångundervisning, hur uppfattar elever sina lärares instruktioner samt huruvida styrdokumenten påverkar lärarens val av terminologi? Syftet är att undersöka hur sånglärares terminologi påverkar elevens förståelse för sitt instrument.Totalt intervjuades tre sånglärare som arbetar på musik- och dansskola, två sånglärare som arbetar på musikhögskola och fyra elever som läser sångkurser på gymnasiet. Vi kan efter genomförandet av de kvalitativa intervjuerna konstatera att lärarna i stor utsträckning anpassar ordval efter elevens behov och ålder. Lärarens egen bakgrund utifrån hur deras egen utbildning sett ut och vilken genretradition de kommer ifrån spelar också in i hur de använder termerna. Alla lärare är eniga om att ju äldre eleverna blir och ju längre de kommer i sin utbildning desto mer fysiskt språk används i undervisningen.

Bakgrund: I Sverige ställer lagen högre krav på de bedömningar som görs av arbetsförmåga än vad som kan genomföras med dagens befintliga bedömningsinstrument. I samband med att begreppet arbetsförmåga började användas växte WAI (Work Ability Index) fram och började användas i Finland under 1980-talet. WAI används på både grupp- och individnivå för att bedöma befintlig och framtida arbetsförmåga i relation till nuvarande arbete. Syfte: Att undersöka vilken betydelse WAI har i Finland för att identifiera tidiga tecken på ohälsa hos arbetstagare samt hur resultatet kan användas i utformandet av insatser/interventioner. Metod: För att kunna ta del av upplevelser kring användandet av WAI genomfördes sex intervjuer med personal inom den privata företagshälsovården i Finland.

In this essay, I want to achieve an accessible and applicable entrance to Alexander Technique as a method for learning to use the body in such a way as to allow emotional expression in music. It is necessary to see the real need of Alexander Technique for the active musician, and therefore important components of music-making will be presented. These components are presented from an Alexander-perspective in order to produce a clear picture of the method of application.The prerequisite for emotional expression in music is musicians and music listeners with the ability to generate, and respond after emotional impressions. Alexander Technique provides an approach to make it easier for musicians, especially guitarists, to express emotions in a performance situation.After years of practice and obtaining musical knowledge and practical skills at the instrument, it is common that muscle tension and ingrained patterns contribute to limited expression. Muscle tensions arising from pressured situations such as auditions, competitions and concerts.

Aim and research questionsThe over-all aim of this study was to gain insight info how two male coaches of a specific soccer team behave in a practice environment with regards to educating the players.More specifically, the study sought to map the extent to which said behaviour matched two specific methods of learning; these being Teaching Games for Understanding (TgfU) and Enhanced Guided Discovery (EGD). Research questions: (1) Do the coaches employ the methods and guidelines, which are outlined in the educational plan provided by the soccer association? If so, what form does this application take in practice? (2) To what extent and in what ways do the coaches utilize feedback and questioning techniques in the education of players? (3) What similarities and differences in behaviour can be identified between the chosen soccer team?s two coaches?Method: The data for the study was collected through field observation. The subjects were two youth elite soccer coaches and observation of these coaches took place during five regular practice sessions on the soccer field. All data gathering and analysis were carried out using a modified version of the Coach Analysis and Intervention System (CAIS).

In this essay we study the practice of teaching and learning through aesthetic learning processes in a Waldorf School. Through an ethnographic field study three Waldorf teachers have been interviewed about their views regarding in what ways aesthetic learning processes are present in their teaching and how learning through these processes is being carried out practically. For the study a specific class has been observed during three days in a Waldorf School in Stockholm to examine how the aesthetic learning processes are being performed in practice.Through the study we have reached the conclusion that in this particular Waldorf School teaching is being performed artistically and through aesthetic approaches and perspectives. This way of teaching is being carried out not only in the aesthetic subjects but also in the theoretic. The results of the study show that aesthetic learning processes are present in almost all of the subjects in this Waldorf School..

Tidigare forskning har visat att den psykosociala arbetsmiljön är en viktig del av arbetslivet eftersom individer påverkar och påverkas av den. En betydande del är också upplevelse av begriplighet, hanterbarhet och meningsfullhet som samtliga tillhör begreppet KASAM. Syftet med denna undersökning är att studera om olika aspekter kring psykosocial arbetsmiljö kan förklaras utifrån känsla av sammanhang (KASAM), kön, ålder och stress. Studien undersöker även samband mellan KASAM i kön, ålder samt stress. Undersökningen är fokuserad på både offentlig och privat sektor i arbetslivet n=140, fördelat på 94 kvinnor och 46 män.

Several surveys indicate that corporate leaders still consider the aligning of IT and business functions as a top management issue. The aim of this thesis is to illustrate how coordination emerges between IT and business departments and how formal structures intended to coordinate are influenced by human action. To deepen the understanding of this phenomenon we seek to analyze IT/business coordination from a perspective based on practice theory. A field study was conducted where observations and informal interviews were carried out at the IT department of a global company. The empirical analysis indicate that coordination problems between IT and business departments is in part affected by embedded factors such as different goals and perspectives on how IT is to be used in the organization or how to design IT related processes.

Är det självklart vilka låtar som skall behandlas under musiklektionerna? Är en bra låt alltid en bra låt när det kommer till själva lärandet? Denna uppsats fokuserar och tar upp just detta. Vad tycker och värderar musiklärare som viktigt när de väljer låtar och repertoar för kursen Instrument eller sång på gymnasiet? Detta kopplas sedan samman med Lucy Greens teorier kring det informella och formella lärandet, som till exempel handlar om elevers egna inflytande över musiken och deras egna inflytande över musiklektionernas repertoar.Denna uppsats är främst grundad i kvalitativa metoder. De utvalda lärarnas tankar och idéer är insamlat ifrån en internet - enkät där frågorna var mer eller mindre öppna.

This thesis deals with information practices of first time parents. The term information practice covers topics ranging from the information a parent need and use, the information they actively seek for through to information attained through browsing, monitoring or simply being aware. Four problem areas have been formulated. What information do first time parents need? How do they get hold of information and how do they use it? What factors decide what sources they use? How do the first time parents validate the information they get? The following theoretical framework have been used; Marcia J Bates? model of information practice and Reijo Savolainen?s Mastery of Life theory.

I mitt examensarbete har jag valt att undersöka de tankar som finns kring vem som spelar vilket instrument. Vilka ord, som har med utseende respektive personlighet att göra, förknippar studerande vid en svensk musikhögskola samt en svensk folkhögskola med de utvalda instrumentalisterna; -klassisk tubaist, fiolspelande folkmusiker, klassisk tvärflöjtist, afrosångaren, afrotrummisen, klassisk pianist? Vilket kön, vilket utseende och vilken personlighet tänker de sig att respektive instrumentalist har? Genom en enkätundersökning har jag försökt ta reda på detta. Jag delade ut enkäter till studerande vid en svensk musikhögskola samt till musikstuderande vid en svensk folkhögskola. Av 201 utdelade enkäter fick jag in 49 svar.

The study aims to describe and analyse the relationship between norm and practice regarding social services casework on honour-related problems. The relationship between norm and practice involves the difference between the way it is intended that social workers shall operate in these cases and how they perceive that this works in practice. We interviewed two focus groups of eight Swedish social workers, four in each group. We also held an individual interview with a social services business developer. Focus group interviews were based on two vignettes; one depicting an honour-related case and the second an "ordinary" case.

SammanfattningDenna undersökning behandlade en del av kommunikationen mellan ledare ochmedarbetare, avseende utvecklingssamtal på arbetsplatser. Syftet med undersökningenvar att försöka uppmärksamma en av de faktorer som kan ha en inverka på utfallet av ettutvecklingssamtal, denna faktor var possible selves. Tidigare forskning visade på attutvecklingssamtalet spelade en viktig roll i våra arbetsliv och privatliv. Den tidigareforskningen om possible selves uppmärksammade att detta begrepp är komplext ochanvändbart i många olika livssituationer. Vi valde att angripa detta ämne genom enkvalitativ metod där vi använde ett kvalitativt instrument, Possible Selves StatementTest.
