Examensarbetet har utförts på Scanias avdelning för forskning och utveckling i Södertälje, mellan september 2010 och februari 2011. Syftet med projektet var att studera hanteringen av indata kring två mjukvaruprogram som Scania erbjuder för att simulera prestanda och vissa fysiska egenskaper hos lastbilar och bussar. Projektet har haft tre övergripande delar:Kartläggning av informationsflöden och orientering i arbetssätt, system, med meraRiskanalys och utvärdering av befintliga processer för indatahanteringUtveckling av förbättringsförslag och rekommendationerArbetet inleddes med en litteraturstudie där ämnen relevanta för projektet, så som informationshantering och produktutveckling, studerades. Parallellt med detta utfördes ett antal intervjuer med personal på Scania som alla var involverade i hanteringen av den aktuella informationen. Resultatet av intervjuerna sammanfattades i flödesscheman, där informationskällor och -flöden illustrerades.

The thesis is an examination of the methods that are appropriate and long-term choice to obtain clamping force and secure screw joints in production. The employer, Scania CV AB, transmission manufactures axle gears to all trucks produced in Södertälje. One of the most common assembly elements is screw joints, where the clamping force is essential to achieve a secure joint. Current methods to secure the joint is due much of the friction effect and is an indirect method to measure the clamping force. The clampforce accuracy becomes more widely with torque angle control.

Technical products are becoming more and more complex, this means that the drivers, mechanics and service personnel?s need for assistance such as the service literature is increasing. In this degree project the focus is on the technical manuals of Scania?s Workshop Manual. Today, the information in the Workshop Manual consists of collaboration between text and illustrations.

Bakgrund: Produktutvecklingsprocessen har på senare tid kommit att ses som en strategisk aktivitet som är avgörande för företagets överlevnad eftersom produktens utförande och kostnader till stor del fastställs innan tillverkning påbörjas. ?Target Costing? har sitt ursprung från Toyota i Japan och är en metod för strategisk kostnadsstyrning som har vuxit fram för att tidigt styra kostnader. Metoden används för att integrera kostnadsstyrning i produktutvecklingsprocessen i samstämmighet med kundkrav och företagets egna vinstkrav.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva och analysera hur ?Target Costing? används i produktutvecklingsprocessen på Volvo Construction Equipment i Braås för att ge kunskap till nya potentiella användare.

Denna undersökning är resultatet av en kandidatuppsats skriven vid handelshögskolan, Umeå universitet på uppdrag av Scania Industrial Control vid Scania CV AB i Södertälje. Scania arbetar efter ett produktionssystem (SPS) som har grunden i Toyota Production System (TPS) och tar formen av ett hus där Scanias värderingar, principer och prioriteringar framgår. Scanias framgång anses bygga på att nyttja personalens kompetens inom förbättringsgrupper, ett arbete som sker genom SPS. Historiskt sett har SPS tydligast återfunnits inom Scanias produktionsavdelningar, emellertid har arbetssättet börjat överföras i alla Scanias verksamheter för att genomsyra hela företaget. Scania ser i dagsläget över sina verksamheter för att nå långsiktiga effektiviseringar med målet att öka sin framtida konkurrenskraft.

This thesis is a discourse analysis about the argumentation in media between the Military and the enthusiast, who are interested in military vehicles and military surplus..

In 2011, a crime prevention initiative was undertaken by the Swedish police department in Scania. Two years later, the Swedish media reported on this initiative, claiming that it had been intended as an ethnic registration of Romani people. This revelation resulted in a great deal of controversy and sparked a national debate on the issue of ethnicity and public registration in Sweden. The police in Scania had difficulties explaining the purpose of such a registration effort, and could not provide evidence that it had been legitimate and legal. This paper will attempt to explain the motivation behind the original police initiative with a theoretical analysis based on assessments from public authorities.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att kartlägga hur Volvo Aero Corporation arbetar med produktionssimulering samt presentera ett tillvägagångssätt som bör användas, för att göra produktionssimuleringsstudier kostnadseffektiva och tillförlitliga som beslutsunderlag. Genom att följa en simuleringsstudie har författarna bildat sig en uppfattning om hur produktionssimuleringar i dag går till på företaget. De empiriska resultaten har analyserats utifrån teori för att beskriva hur Volvo Aero bör förändra sitt förfarande vid simuleringsstudier. Resultaten visar att Volvo Aero har brister i sitt tillvägagångssätt när simuleringsstudier genomförs. • Inledningsvis är de frågeställningar som ska undersökas alltför övergripande för att kunna besvaras med hjälp av en simuleringsstudie.

This essay focuses on the function and development of city harbors during the middle ages in the Scanian part of Öresund. The purpose of the survey is to take a closer look at topography, development and activities on the shores in three coastal cities along the west coast of Scania. The cities that has been part of the survey are: Skanör ? Falsterbo, Malmoe and Landskrona, three cities that follows each other chronologically and that show both similarities and differences in appearance, function and urbanization.The cities of Skanör ? Falsterbo and Malmoe were important market places for the medieval Scania market with the herring fishery in focus. The cities? birth has to be looked upon in relation to these activities.

Scania is among the leading companies in the heavy vehicle industry. Scania also assemble engines for their trucks and buses, as well as to external marine and industrial applications. Wrongly assembled parts leads to quality problems, which makes it important to secure that the assembly is correct. To do this Design For Assembly (DFA) is used to describe how parts should become easier to assemble. Scania?s production unit for engine assembly has had a working method for DFA in the shape of a checklist, which is not used.

Detta examensarbete utfördes på DM-Motorbearbetningen vid Scania CV AB i Södertälje. DM har en plan för att öka kapaciteten i tillverkningen, detta gör att det under de närmaste åren kommer påbörjas ett antal investeringsprojekt i nya produktionsavsnitt. I dagens konkurrensutsatta marknader blir det viktigare och viktigare att vara effektiv och att ha korta ledtider i allt arbete som utförs inom industrin. I och med detta finns det stora vinster i att vid uppstart av nytt produktionsavsnitt kunna korta ned tiden som det tar till full produktionstakt. Fokus i detta arbete har legat på att identifiera möjliga orsaker till att denna tid blivit längre än vad som planerats i tidigare projekt på Scania.Historiskt när Scania har projekterat och startat nya produktionsavsnitt har det alltid tagit en viss tid innan förväntad volym och kvalitet uppnåtts efter produktionsstart.

I denna uppsats har vi studerat effekter uppkomna vid införandet av inter- organisatoriska system. Mer precist har vi studerat vilka effekter som uppkommer hos ett storföretags leverantörer vid införandet av Webb-EDI i kombination med självfakturering. Vi har visat att många av de effekter som tidigare forskning hävdar positiva endast är positiva för storföretaget, inte för de många gånger mindre leverantörerna. Ökad tidsåtgång i den administrativa hanteringen och problem med betalningsrutiner är några av de negativa effekter som visat sig uppkomma. Dessa problem kommer på sikt att få betalas av kunden, i detta fall Volvo Personvagnar AB (Volvo PV), i form av högre priser eller sämre service.
