Background: The demand for sending letters, in the traditional aspect, has decreased because of electronic sources which have replaced a big part of letter communication. The Postal Service constantly strives for lowering costs and due to the changeable demand, a greater awareness is required regarding recourses and their usage. The previously mentioned measures in combination with commonly occurring quality issues during the collective process at the letter terminal in Alvesta would be improved by applying a lean-perspective to the process. A first step towards saving of time is to apply the ?value stream mapping?-method on the collective process for small and large letters.Purpose: To map the process of collection for small and large letters to be able to identify waste of recourses and furthermore give suggestions on how the Postal Service would be able to reduce the waste of recourses identified.

Ett av dessa företag är Ericsson CDC Gävle, tillverkare av radiobasstationer, där situationen försvåras ytterligare med många produktvarianter och korta ledtider. Problemet är att volymerna kan variera väldigt inom en kort tidshorisont. Den fluktuerande efterfrågan bidrar till att underleverantörer får svårigheter att möta Ericssons plötsliga avvikningar från prognostiserat behov, och gör att produktionsplaneringen försvåras. För att justera kapaciteten används till stor del bemanningsföretag och problem uppstår med att behålla ett standardiserat arbetssätt och stabila processer.

The national spatial planning guidelines and the subsequent legal regulation in the Natural Resources Act and the Environmental Code has been a part of the Swedish planning system for almost 40 years. In the recent years, critics have claimed that the regulations are outdated and does not work the way it was intended. This paper examines closer why it is perceived that the regulations does not work, with a focus on how the national interests are managed in the municipal planning. Why is the national interests not applied in the municipal planning as intended? Is the error in the system or in the implementation of it? The aim of this essay is to study the gap between theory and practice by studying how the land management provisions in the Environmental Code is applied in five selected municipalities. The aim is also to find interesting issues for futher studies of the topic.

Inom måleriet på Volvo Lastvagnar, Umeå finns idag utrustning som hanterar hytterna med oidentifierade systemförluster och varierande kapacitet i grundlacksprocessen. Det är nödvändigt att ha kännedom om vilka begränsningar som finns i processen för att kunna optimera den på ett effektivt sätt. Utrustningen som avses är två hissar och en transportvagn som alla tre är automatiserade och som används för att hantera hytterna från utgång kylzon efter grundlack fram till KOB-bufferten innan täcklack. Målen med uppdraget är att identifiera systemförlusterna, beräkna kapacitet på utrustningen samt ta fram förslag som kan minimera alternativt eliminera systemförlusterna. Vid genomförandet har befintlig produktion i måleriet studerats. Litteraturstudie Lean production och Volvo Production System har utförts för att underlätta arbetet.Under arbetet genomfördes en tidsstudie som sedan sammanställdes för att användas för att identifiera systemförlusterna och beräkna utrustningens kapacitet.

SammanfattningBakgrund: Dagens stillasittande livsstil med ökat intag av energigivande ämnen resulterar i ett konstant anabolt hormonellt påslag. Detta leder till ökad övervikt och andra välfärdssjukdomar. Det rekommenderas att individer håller sig till en hög måltidsfrekvens med jämna mellanrum under dagen. Detta har börjat ifrågasättas med konkurrerande alternativ som involverar en tidigare samhällslivsstil så långt som 10 000 år sedan, då måltidsfrekvensen inte kunde planeras på samma sätt som idag.Syfte: Syftet är att under sju veckor undersöka effekten av två stycken veckovisa 24-timmars periodiska förbud mot intag av energigivande ämnen, med implementering av fysisk styrketräning och dess effekt på lean body mass (LBM) och fettvikt hos yngre individer.Metod: Två separata 24-timmars perioder av fasta i samband med tre separata styrketräningstillfällen genomfördes per vecka under sju veckor. Kroppsmått gällande kroppsfett i procent, fettvikt i kilogram (kg), kroppsdimensioner i centimeter (cm), LBM och total kroppsvikt i kg togs innan och efter studiens genomförande.

Phosphate is a used as a surface treatment method which is used for various purposes in the industry. In this case, phosphate coated wire is used in the processes to achieve a desirable outcome. The reason to why phosphate coated wire is used in the production process is because phosphate acts as an accumulator, where it stabilizes the lubricant on the surface of the wire. Lubrication is important because it plays a major role in the roll quality and characterizes important benefits regarding the outcome.Currently, SKF has to wash away all phosphates residues after extrusion process in an operation called tumbling. The main reason for this is simply because the surface has to be completely free from lubricants and coatings till the next step of process.

LV Motors tillverkar elmotorer till framför allt den europeiska marknaden. Konkurrenssituationen på den marknad där LV Motors verkar är hård med många konkurrenter förlagda i låglöneländer. Kostnaden för att tillverka en motor är för LV Motors jämförelsevis hög och det finns ett ständigt fokus på att sänka tillverkningskostnaderna. För att sänka kostnaderna har LV Motors flyttat viss del av tillverkningen till låglöneländer och då framför allt Tjeckien. Även ökad automatiseringsgrad i tillverkningen har använts för att stärka konkurrenskraften.

My master?s thesis is a study of acquisition of photographies during 1958-2008. The questions I proceed from is what patterns lies behind the Royal library's acquisition of photography and how the process of acquisition looks like. The theoretical base which I lean on consists partly of a problematization of the process of cultural heritage and partly of organizational theory. The problematization of the process of cultural heritage is my foundation of this essay.

Volvo GTO i Skövde tillhör tillverkningsindustrin och levererar motorer till lastvagnskunder över hela världen. Alla motorer som sänds på export går genom ett produktionsflöde, CBU-line. CBU-line är en monteringslina som sedan konstruktion 1996 inte genomgått någon större layoutmässig förändring, trots att uppgiften för flödet förändrats. Syftet med projektet är att genom analys ta fram förutsättningar för att kunna bedöma flödets kapacitet samt att ta fram fokusområde för kommande förbättringsinsatser.Flödet saknar i stor utsträckning det produktionstekniska data som behövs för att bedöma dess kapacitet. Baserat på detta har ett antal olika metoder används för att tillsammans skapa en bild över flödets nuläge.

The Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine is promising in terms of lowNOx, low particulates and high efficiency. Due to its homogeneous charge, where thecombustion starts almost simultaneously from a number of points in the combustion chamber,only lean mixtures are possible to burn because of the resulting rapid combustion, which is muchfaster than the combustion in an SI-engine or a diesel engine. When richer mixtures are used thecombustion will start earlier and also be more violent.To phase the combustion later and lower the combustion speed, external cooled EGR can beused. The EGR-system used in this thesis uses a divided exhaust channel where one channel andits corresponding valve are used only for transporting EGR back to the intake system.Consequently the EGR-valve is connected to the intake pressure. This system is called Direct-EGR (D-EGR).Engine tests verified that the CA50 indeed is phased later when cooled EGR is used.

The preschool constitutes a big part of many children's everyday existence. Its contents are therefore of great importance and the environment deserves a well thoughtout design. In this study, surveys in field and literature have resulted in conclusions around how plants can be used in children's play environments, in order to contribute to the experiencerelated values. The aim is to present conclusions to lean on when drawing up designproposals for new playgrounds, especially where the natural conditions are not so favorable. The first question that is responded to is how plants can be used in order to enrich the children's play environments.

There is an irregularity in the interregional migration in Sweden. An increasing proportion ofthe population is drawn to the metropolitan areas, which creates problems for the smallermunicipalities and towns when their population declines. At the same time, our whole societyis faced with a great challenge: we need to redirect towards a sustainable development, wherethe environmental issues are discussed and dealt with to secure that all present and futuregenerations are given equal opportunities to live a good life.The aim of this study is to, focusing mainly on the environmental dimension of thesustainability concept, examine the attractivity of housing with sustainability claims. Toanswer this, three research questions were used:? Was the migration motive to reduce their environmental impact a part of the decision tomove, among migrants who had moved to housing with sustainability claims?? If the motive was a part of the decision, how much impact did it have compared to othermigration motives?? Which factors in housing aiming at sustainability are considered important by peopleliving in housing with sustainability claims?The research questions have been answered using quantitative data, gained in the form of selfadministeredquestionnaires which were distributed in four different residential areas withsustainability claims in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden.
