The object of this study is to examine the effective functionality of an OPAC-system while a few participants interacted with the catalogue. I?ve used Carl Martin Allwood?s (1998) four designed usability factors to be able to estimate the effective functionality of the online catalogue. Theoretic basis is Human Computer Interaction together with Allwood?s four defined usability factors.

This project investigated the current market regarding wireless net and the communication between the tools used for diagnostics/maintenance and an embedded system. Based on documentation obtained through interviews a demo system was created based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication between an embedded system and an Android device.This report intends to describe the tools and methods used in the design of the demo system and the result of an analysis of the BLE communication.Bluetooth Low Energy is an exciting protocol with wide applicability within the industrial field. In Rio De Janeiro, 1992, was the first document signed that meant a responsibility for industrial countries to decrease their emissions, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Thirteen years later was the first legal binding document signed, the Kyoto protocol, and for the first time industrial countries all over the world was bound to decrease their emissions on greenhouse gases. Within the framework of this commitment, three flexible mechanisms (Clean Development mechanism, Joint Implementation and Emission trading) were introduced with the function to reduce the economical costs of the commitment. Syftet med examensarbetet var att ta reda på vilken roll språkutvecklande aktiviteter spelar för förskolepersonal i två enskilda fall. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie på två förskolor där vi undersökte vilken förståelse av och syn på barns verbala språkutveckling två utvalda pedagoger har. På vardera förskolan genomförde vi en intervju och en observation med en pedagog. Resultaten visar att pedagogerna har kunskaper om barns tidiga språkutveckling och att de anser att språket måste komma tidigt i ett barns liv. En slutsats som kan dras är att pedagogerna medvetet arbetar med språkutveckling i förskolan och att pedagogens utbildning kan ha inverkan på synen på barns språkutveckling..

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur elever i ett SVA-klassrum kommunicerar. Ämnet är aktuellt i vårt mångkulturella samhälle. Forskningsstrategin tar utgångspunkt i etnografi. Datainsamlingsmetoden har varit deltagande observation i den naturliga miljön. Resultatet visar att eleverna använder sig av verbal och icke-verbal kommunikation.

In some criminal cases, the only existing evidence is the verbal statement of a witness or the plaintiff. The typical example is an alleged rape where victim and perpetrator have had some kind of relation, and their records of the incident differ. In these cases, the assessment of the value of the evidence drawn from the plaintiff's story is of crucial importance. On the one hand, a false positive judgment means that a person is wrongly convicted, on the other hand, a failure to correctly identify a truthful claim of rape means that a victim of a severe crime is left without judicial remedy. That the prosecutor must prove that the crime is committed by the defendant without reasonable doubt, means that there is much more chance of a failure to convict guilty felons, than of the opposite.In the essay, the rules of criminal procedure directed at the evaluation of the verbal statement are identified and critically evaluated from the perspective of how they may or may not facilitate the judgment of a verbal statement presented before the court, either in person, or through other media such as video.

With this research we aimed to seek how youth workers express their experience of counselling on the internet compared to traditional counselling face to face with a theoretical ground in semiotics and symbolic interactionism. Our questions were 1) How do youth workers describe their experiences from anonymous, faceless online counselling? 2) How do youth workers experience the differences between online counselling and the traditional face-to-face counselling? 3) Which possibilities and difficulties do they see in online communication with adolescents? We used semi-structed interviews with seven youth workers. Six of those are active in non-profit organisations, and one in social services. The results from our interviews showed that the interviewees saw that misunderstandings were more frequent on the internet, but that online counselling with adolescents still was easier than in the face-to-face meetings.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur en grupp typiskt utvecklade, svenska barn, i åldrarna fyra till tio år presterar på tre deltest i VMPAC, för att därmed skapa ett underlag för en referens för svenska barn i bedömningen av avvikande utveckling. Studiens frågeställningar är: 1. Hur presterar en grupp typiskt utvecklade, svenska barn, i åldrarna fyra till tio år, på tre deltest i VMPAC (Focal Oromotor Control, Sequencing Maintenance Control och Connected Speech and Language Control)? och 2. Förekommer det några skillnader mellan en grupp typiskt utvecklade, svenska barn, jämfört med den amerikanska normeringen i VMPAC och barn med verbal dyspraxi (CAS) undersökta inom ramen för en magisteruppsats (Björelius-Hort, 2009)? Oral- och talmotorisk förmåga hos 23 svenska barn i åldrarna fyra till tio år, som åldersmatchats mot barn med verbal dyspraxi (Björelius-Hort, 2009), testades med deltest två, tre och fyra ur VMPAC.

Denna studie är en kvalitativ forskningsstudie med en etnografisk ansatts. Studien belyser hur barn i den mångkulturella förskolan integrerar med varandra genom både icke verbal kommunikation och verbal kommunikation. Genom observationer på två mångkulturella förskolor kan vi se problematiken att samspel och interaktion mellan barnen blir ett hinder då missförstånd och frustration synliggörs på grund av att språket mellan barnen inte samspelar. Genom alla sociala möten barnen befinner sig i kan ett verbalt språk underlätta i de situationer där det icke verbala språkets förutsättningar inte räcker till..

The Iranian artist Shirin Neshat has been living in self-imposed exile since the late 1970s, as she chose not to return to her home country following the ?79 Islamic Revolution. Through her works Neshat examines Iran before and after the revolution and follows political and civil transformations through strong photographs of women in her country of birth.  My own use of the term exile deals with the analysis of the state of exile in relation to artistic work as a globalized and underlying motivation for art and artists. The new definition of exile is analyzed in relation with the artist?s photographs and the verbal and visual statements.

Utvecklingen av teknik och tekniska hjälpmedel har lett till att det finns fler sätt att lära ut på än de traditionella klassrumslektionerna. Studenterna behöver inte vara bundna till en specifik tid eller plats, när lärandet kan göras mobilt. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur studenter vid distanskurser upplever att kommunikationen fungerar samt vilka för- och nackdelar de finner. Åtta intervjupersoner har intervjuats i arbetet och de utförda intervjuerna har transkriberats och tolkats. Det framkom att intervjupersonerna till största del använde e-mail och icke-verbala chattar för att kommunicera med varandra och med lärare.

Internet is growing every day and this is leading to an address depletion of the current IPv4 addresses. A new version of IPv4, called IPv6, is the protocol for addressing computers that will deal with this problem. IPv4 and IPv6 are unfortunately not compatible with each other. IPv4 and IPv6 have to co-exist for a long time until IPv6 will be the dominant protocol.The purpose of this thesis is to examine how a transition could be done or more correctly, how to deploy IPv6 in an already existing IPv4 network. After that part of the report a case study at the local Internet service provider Junet AB will be conducted.

 Conversation Analysis (CA) is a tool to facilitate analysis of everyday conversations. A small number of studies have used CA as an intervention for people with aphasia and have seen positive effects as an outcome of the intervention. The authors of the present study have not found any other studies where CA was used as an intervention in other target groups. The purpose of this study was to investigate if CA may be used in intervention with an adolescent who uses Bliss. The main participants in the present study, which the intervention was based upon, were a sixteen year old girl who communicates through Bliss, and her assistant.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur barnen leker med fokus på hur de kommunicerar med varandra och hur samspelet ser ut mellan barnen samt vilka regler de ger uttryck för. Frågeställningarna som formulerades är: ?Hur kommunicerar barn i leken??, ?Hur samspelar barn i leken?? samt ?Vilka regler ger barnen uttryck för i leken??. Metoden för insamling av material att studera var observation av barn i 3-5-årsåldern på två olika förskolor i två kommuner. Resultatet beskriver barnens interaktioner med varandra och hur de använder både verbal och icke-verbal kommunikation för att förmedla budskap.

Syftet med det här arbetet är att undersöka hur den verbala kommunikationen kan se ut i olika språkklassrum och hur lärarna själva reflekterar kring den verbala kommunikationen i sin undervisning. Det vi studerat inom verbal kommunikation är användandet av målspråket, kommunikationsstrategier och innehåll. För att uppnå syftet har vi använt oss av observationer och intervjuer som datainsamlingsmetod. Studien omfattar fyra grupper och tre lärare på två gymnasieskolor i och utanför Uppsala. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att målspråket inte alltid används i den utsträckning som man kan önska och att kommunikationsstrategier snarare används av lärarna än eleverna.
