Open Innovation inom offentlig förvaltning
Open Innovation är ett relativt nytt arbetssätt som innebär att organisationer tar in extern kunskap med syftet att utveckla interna processer och vidga den egna kompetensen. Studien utgår ifrån ett kvalitativt perspektiv där relevanta teorier hämtats ifrån tryckt litteratur, vetenskapliga artiklar samt empiri som består av en omvärldsanalys samt intervjustudie med ett antal individer med varierande kunskap inom områdena; Open Innovation samt medborgardialog kopplat till offentlig förvaltning. Det framkom i studien att faktorer som transparens, verktyg samt process är viktiga byggstenar i en Open Innovation-process. Utifrån studien har författarna tagit fram en metod som skall synliggöra hur de olika områdena samverkar med varandra och vilka verktyg som kan tillämpas i processen (se nedan). Författarna fann genom studien att hanteringen utav de idéer och förslag som hämtas från Open Innovation-processer är den viktigaste delen i processen.
Kontrollerad interaktion för kreativare möten : Summit Flexiwall
During the spring semester 2012 Robin Westlund has accomplished ?Controlled interaction for more creative meetings - Summit Flexiwall? with the individual focus on social communication based on visual interaction in future office. The project was a part of the course Degree Project for degree of Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering (MSGC12) which includes 22,5 ECTS Credits. The course is a part in the program Innovation and Design Engineering program within the Faculty of Technology and Science at Karlstad University.Assigner of the project was Moelven Eurowand AB with their head office in Örebro. The company manufactures and assembles entire room solutions for offices.
Att öppna upp sjukvårdens förändrings- och utvecklingsarbete : En studie av medskapande innovation i primärvården
Healthcare in Sweden are in need of a drastic change to meet the requirements of highly developed societies, and information technology is seen as an essential part to get there. However, the Swedish healthcare have to challenge their traditional innovation approaches as well. For example, it has become more common to engage patients in the innovation process through web-based platforms. We have been focusing on an approach called co-creation by studying a workshop, in which potential users and other stakeholders are cooperating creatively to come up with innovative solutions in order to improve healthcare practice. Our findings suggests that co-creation may increase the mutual understanding between different stakeholders, for example healthcare professionals and IT developers, enable horizontal learning through and outside the organization and also to raise concepts and actions that are responding to healthcare needs.
Wireless Trailer Connection
Today's communication solution between the vehicle and trailer is one many see as anon-viable solution, then breakdowns on both the lights and cables are common. Now, anew innovation enters the market, a system that can transmit wireless control signalsbetween the vehicle and trailer.Parvus and Zap, the two solutions that the projekt group has come up with during thisthesis work carried out over the last year on Utvecklingsingenjörsprogrammet.Technologists Peter Jägevall and Christopher Åberg has developed this project on theirown. The group has developed various concepts and chosen to work on, two of them.The project has resulted in this report and a prototypeThe solution that the group has developed is a wireless communication between vehicleand trailer. The project team has developed new power-efficient LED lighting fixtures inorder to implement an internal power source in the trailer. The result of this has becomea maintenance-free and wireless product to trailers.
"Kunskap är inte tungt att bära" : Hur nedskärningar kan påverka en lärande organisation i ett industriföretag
This has been a practical innovation graduation project withthe focus of studying the impacts of downsizing on a learningorganization. The study took place at Karlsson Spools in Sala.This has been a part of an ongoing EU project funded by theEuropean Social Fund, ESF. We have, with the help ofinterviews and surveys, gathered information on the presentsituation and with the help of theoretical studies built aframework on how a learning organization is viewed intheory.During our study we found that there are many componentsto a learning organization. The company in question hasdisplayed some qualities that characterize a learningorganization such as a plan to train and further develop theiremployees. The problem we found was lack of communicationand how this has resulted in a less successful outcome of theongoing courses.

In today?s changing environment, creation of projects by organizations has become more common. The problem is, though, that the knowledge of the subject is still limited which causes many projects to fail. This has made it extra important to have a good project manager whocanlead the project in the right direction. Vägghängd duschpall : Utveckling av duschpall för Etac Supply Center AB
This degree project has been carried out by Oscar Adolfsson and Marcus Blomqvist, during the spring of 2010, both studying to become Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering, at Karlstad University. The degree project includes 22,5 credits.The work is done on behalf of Etac Supply Center AB in Anderstorp. Etac is a company developing and manufacturing home health care products, with operation in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England and Germany, and with sales worldwide. Bo Lindqvist, R & D manager has been the contact person at Etac.During the project the students has had a workplace at Semcon Caran AB in Karlstad. Semcon has also been helpful as a sounding board.The objective of the work has been developing a new, wall mounted shower chair, assigned for persons with difficulty to stand up while showering.Etacs requirement of the shower chair is that it should be able to support a user with a weight of 100 kg, the chair shouldn?t have any outrigger, optional should be armrests and backrest.
Förutsättningar för innovation : En studie om hur avdelningschefer kan stödja en organisations innovationskultur.
Dagens föränderliga affärsklimat ställer höga krav på oirganisationer som vill jobba med innovation (Slavicek, 2011 & Drucker, 1995). Innovation handlar om processen för att samla in, utveckla, förenkla samt kommersialisera en idé (Mclean, 2005). Kreativitet och innovation kommer endast att ske sporadiskt om det inte finns en stödjande organisationskultur och tydliga processer för det (Malaviya & Subhash, 2005). Ett idéhanteringssystem hjälper organisationen att använda mänskliga resurser mer effektivt genom att se till att individer från hela organisationen kan bidra till innovationsarbetet (Lamont, 2004). Volvo CE är ett globalt ledande företag inom tillverkningsindustrin och verksamt inom maskiner till byggindustrin. På grund av den hårdnande globala konkurrensen har företaget under de senare åren jobbat mer fokuserat med innovationsarbete.

In this paper I argue that the development of innovation ideas within the financial system of scientific research might have a counterpart within the financial system of the social sciences and the arts. The ideas of innovation share a common way to evaluate science in terms of how well it can contribute to economic growth. In the past two decades a similar development can be observed within Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ), one of the largest external financiers of the social sciences and the arts in Sweden. The idea of evaluating research used by the innovation ideas has grown popular within RJ, only it seems they evaluate research in terms of how well it fits into an international research community rather than how much it can contribute to economic growth as is the case within the innovation ideas. By examining the different ways of financing research that RJ has used during the last 2 decades, this paper aims to introduce a new perspective in which it is possible to understand the development within this type research funding as a part of a bigger system of development..
Staying Astonishing
This thesis is a case study with a qualitative approach. The company examined is The Astonishing Tribe (TAT) making user interfaces for mobile phones. The company has had a growth of 1453% from 2002 until 2006. We have examined what are the key factors for keeping innovation while growing. The most significant factor not supporting innovation within the case company is the will to take calculated risks.

Innovation händer inte bara. : - Hur ledningen kan bidra till utvecklingen av innovativa organisationer
Uppsatsen kartlägger hur en företagsledning arbetar med innovation och identifierar möjligheter i kommunikationen med medarbetarna. Författarna analyserar också hur ledningen kan bidra till, samt dess betydelse, vid utvecklingen av innovativa organisationer. Uppsatsen är indelad efter en undersökningsmodell som är utvecklad av författarna själva bestående av 5 delområden: Kommunikation kring innovation, Förhållningssätt till innovation, Mekanismer som styr innovation, Förhållningssätt till misstag och Förhållningssätt till belöningar. Med utgångspunkt i de 5 delområdena undersöks 4 snabbväxande svenska företag genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer med VD på företaget. Två av företagen är av medelstor karaktär och två lite mindre.

I dagens snabbt föränderliga affärssamhälle är innovation en nödvändig förutsättning för framgång och kanske till och med för överlevnad. Det är på grund av detta som innovation har tagit sig till toppen av agendan i organisationer runt om i världen. Organisationskultur är avgörande för innovation och företag behöver förstå denna koppling bättre för att kunna dra nytta av det. Innovation uppkommer genom bra idéer som kopplas till en kultur och ett bra arbetsklimat. Innovation har blivit viktigt i organisationer och en kultur som stödjer innovation kan vara nödvändig.
Erfarenheter från Olika Produktutvecklingsprocesser vid Utvecklingen av en Atmosfärisk Vattengenerator
This Master of Science thesis was completed at the Department of Machine Design at the Royal Instituteof Technology in Stockholm in collaboration with Lund Faculty of Engineering, Luleå University ofTechnology and Stanford University. At Stanford University a global product development project wasrealized as part of the course ME310. The project was initiated by the American company ImmerseGlobal whose vision was to develop a new type of Atmospheric Water Generators, a machine that absorbsthe moisture in the air and via a water system transforms it to pure drinking water. The project was partlyfinanced by the Product Innovation Engineering program, a Swedish research and development programfor increased innovation capability in organizations.In parallel with the global project in the ME310 course the product development process was studied inorder to compare it with a product development course at the Royal Institute of Technology, IPU. Thetwo courses are similar to each other in several aspects.
Att kommunicera en innovation : Hur kunskap om självbetjäningen spreds inom ICA 1945-1960
The communication of self-service within the ICA-sphere, 1945-1960, points tothe central role of communication in technological change. The study coversthe communication from ICAAB, ICA-Förbundet, AB Köpmannatjänst, threepurchasing centres (Hakon, Essve and Eol) and their respective councils oftrustees. The councils communicated their reservations early on, while theother actors spread knowledge (both economic and practical) of the innovation tothe retailers, and some also to the consumers. The communication of thepurchasing centres and Köpmannatjänst gave greater opportunity for learning,due to higher levels of interaction..
