The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the handling and shelving of graphic novels and adult-comics in Swedish public libraries, in order to find out if this type of literature is prioritized in the same way as other forms of literature. The study was conducted by photographing the Hci/uHci shelves at ten different public libraries to give an objective view of the shelving to later be analysed and compared. Inquiry sheets were sent to the photographed libraries in order to get the librarians view of their own comic book shelves and collections. We found that the state of the comic-shelves differed from library to library according to how interested and committed the librarians were. New research areas in the field of Library and Information Science are discussed and questions are raised about the future of graphic novels and adult-comic-books in libraries, about their place in the libraries and about how librarians and the users knowledge of this media can be improved..

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine seven public librarians? attitudes towards manga as a new kind of literature in public libraries. Manga is an art form, originally from Japan, but in recent years manga has become very popular in the Western societies. The main issue of this thesis is how the librarians? look at manga and what they think about manga.

Vi vill öka kunskapen kring vilka attribut som påverkar studenters attityder till tjänsten hemförsäkring. En undersökning har gjorts på komponenten ?Attityd till ett beteende? som är en del av ?Theory of Reasoned Action? och ?Theory of Planned Behaviour?. Data är insamlad från två mindre fokusgrupper som är förstaårsstudenter vid Luleå Tekniska Universitet. Vi har identifierat vilka attribut dessa studenter anser som viktigast hos tjänsten hemförsäkring, vilka är pris, innehåll, varumärke och service.

Sweden has an active and growing culture of feminist comic book artists that use comedy as a mean of disseminating political ideas and critic. In this essay I do a reparative reading of Sara Granér?s comic book All I Want for Christmas is planekonomi in order to find out if it advocates alternative orders and/or ways of expression. By exploring what the comic book does to me as a reader and how, using the term ?skev? ? a hybrid of queer that examines normativity not strictly tied to sexuality ? and gulesque theory ? a mix of feminism, cuteness, the grotesque and riot grrrl ?, I show that the comic book, through the use of comedy, works as a trojan My Little Pony, reclaiming the girly franchise, while challenging several so-called dichotomies, such as: femininity/masculinity; youth/adult; high art/kitsch.

Rapportens tema är stereotyper, utseende och genus med ytterligare fokus på aspekterna karaktärsdesign, ansiktsdrag och personlighetsdrag. Stereotyper har här behandlats ur ett kognitionspsykologiskt perspektiv. Detta för att ge vinkel åt effektiv visuell kommunikation, en aspekt som ibland använder sig av just stereotyper, särskilt i moderna media. En undersökning genomfördes för att analysera hur intrycket av Tecknade karaktärer kan påverkas av karaktärens könsidentitet och ansiktsdrag. Detta baseras på tidigare forskning där ansiktsdrag kan kategoriseras som maskulina respektive feminina, vilka skapar olika intryck av personlighetsdrag.

This master's thesis deals with the interest in comics among students at the social science programme in an upper secondary school. The history of comics and the reading habits of comics have also been examined. For the completion of this study 54 students, 19 boys and 35 girls, took part in a questionnaire. The results of this statistical survey shows that the department of comics at Malmö city public library plays an insignificant role concerning the interest and reading of comics for the students. The main readings of comics for the students are in the daily paper, which resembles reading habits of adults.

The purpose of this thesis is to study the attitude towardscomics among librarians as well as their personal image ofthe overall attitude towards comics among librarians and themanner in which the attitude of the librarians affects how thecomics are treated in the library.I have performed this study with a qualitative approach andhave interviewed a total of five librarians working in twodifferent libraries.I have founded the theoretical base for my research in anumber of historical attitudes towards comics and thencompared these attitudes towards the answers given in theinterviews as well as prior research found in three theseswritten by Magnus Johansson, Sarah Johansson and KarinEsaiasson.The results of the study is that traces of most of thehistorical attitudes can be found among all of the interviewedlibrarians but that none of them are harboring any negativeattitudes towards comics themselves. On the other hand thestudy does imply that the image of the librarian who onlythinks that comics are meant for children is still very muchalive in the collective subconscious of the librarians.The study also shows that while librarians of today tend tohave a neutral outlook in comics the historically subpartreatment of comic in the libraries and the subsequent lack ofacademic support on the subject have made it necessary forthe librarian in charge of the comic-section to have apersonal interest/liking for comics to be able to do a goodjob..

Vi har genomfört ett utvecklingsarbete som bygger på aktionsforskningar inom läs- och skrivinlärning. Vi har under en bestämd tidsram haft målet att få eleverna att känna sig delaktiga i en lustfylld och givande undervisning. Aktionsforskningarna handlar om hur lärare ska kunna använda olika inlärningsmetoder för att kunna öka lusten till att läsa och skriva hos elever. Läsaren kommer att få ta del av realistiska exempel på hur läs- och skrivundervisning sker på ett lustfyllt sätt, då elever har medverkat och deltagit i denna aktionsforskning. Detta utvecklingsarbete framskriver på ett tydligt sätt hur lärare kan undervisa inom läs och skrivinlärning med eleverna, till exempel genom en metod som kallas för LTG metoden.

Många av de klassiska sjökrigsteoretiker som vi idag studerar, levde och verkade i entid, då striden till sjöss bedrevs på ett till stor del annorlunda sätt och med annanutrustning. Kan deras beskrivna metoder fortfarande anses tillämpliga idag, eller kan vise en tendens till förändring? Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka i vilkenutsträckning som det moderna sjökriget använder de sjökrigsmetoder somsjökrigsteoretikern och historikern, Sir Julian Corbett, Tecknade ner i början av 1900-talet. Som empiriskt fall för att pröva hans metoder används Falklandskriget 1982. Föratt uppfylla uppsatsens syfte kommer följande frågeställningar att besvaras: Vilkasjökrigsmetoder finns i den teoretiska litteraturen skriven av Corbett? Tillämpasfortfarande dessa metoder i moderna krig? Kan man eventuellt urskilja några nyametoder? En av uppsatsens slutsatser är att Corbetts sjökrigsmetoder fortfarandeanvänds i moderna krig om än med en något annorlunda tillämpning.

Uppsatsens syfte är att se hur homosexuella diskurser är framställda i utvalda japanska Tecknade TV-serier för barn, samt hur dessa ändrats när dessa TV-serier importerats till USA.Med utgångspunkt från Norman Faircloughs diskursanalytiska modell har nyckelscener från de utvalda TV-serierna Cardcaptor Sakura och Sailor Moon analyserats från ett queerteoretiskt perspektiv.I de anime jag analyserat är homosexuella respektfullt gestaltade och det är sällan fokuserat på homosexualiteten. Dock förekommer vissa heteronormativa mönster som att maskulint och feminint kompletterar varandra även i samkönade par. Homosexualitet är dessutom inte alltid så tydligt framställt vilket kan tyda på osynliggörande eller inkludering på samma villkor som heterosexualitet. I de amerikanska versionerna har homosexualitet helt censurerats genom klipp i scener och ändrade dialoger. I ett fall har en man gjorts om till kvinna så att förhållandet istället blivit heterosexuellt och i ett annat fall har ett kärlekspar gjorts om till kusiner..

Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate the attitudes towards the labour movement?s strategies, goals and organisational issues in Swedish Miners? Union?s (Gruvindustriarbetareförbundet, hereafter Gruv) paper, Gruvarbetaren 1917-1925.The theoretical starting point is Engels? view on the class state. This perspective turns the question of socialism and the way to get there into an issue of working class power over the state. Another theoretical perspective is the partition of the labour movement into a trade-unionistic branch, seeing unions as financial organisations of interest, and a pro-state one, considering unions as political organisations.During the period investigated Gruvarbetaren was quite radical and advocated a firm class struggle strategy towards employers. Since these were considered unreliable, class struggle was seen as the only way to better the conditions for the working class.

Alla människor kan inte förstå muntlig eller skriven informa- tion/instruktion. Just nu finns det inga vedertagna metoder till att hjäl- pa dessa personer när de besöker vården. Att inte ha tillgång till in- formation kan leda till isolering och oro på grund av bristande kontroll och förståelse. Syftet med denna studie var att genom en systematisk evidensbaserad litteraturöversikt finna evidens för att använda bilder som ett visuellt stöd till muntlig och skriftlig information/instruktion. Följande frågeställningar formulerades om bilder tillsammans med muntlig eller skriven information/instruktion ökar förmågan att med-verka, att komma ihåg och genomföra önskad handling.

We believed that knowledge organisation of manga and manhwa with homosexual (including lesbian) themes might be a challenge for Swedish public libraries. One of the reasons for this is that these themes in manga and manhwa usually occur in genres not directed towards an LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) audience. To see how Swedish public libraries treat such titles and why they treat them as they do, we examined a selection of public libraries, their collections, acquisitions, cataloguing and shelving of relevant titles. The theory used is mainly Grant Campbell?s binarisms, subject access to LGBTQ literature and critical analysis of knowledge organisation.
