The students participating in my development work will work with a process book for handicraft studies. In the beginning of their studies, the students need practical knowledge about the development of the profession itself, but they also need to be challenged and learn how to solve problems on their own which will help them gain a deeper knowledge of the subject.    I focus on open questions to create a process with the students. This process is created when working with Solution-Focused-Education. Through ?assessment for learning? we can help the students to improve their self-assessment and understanding of the learning process.

The purpose of this paper was to carry out and evaluate a pedagogic ICT-project, where the computer was implemented in art class. Focus was on the consequences of collaboration and also on the students? understanding of their own performance, compared to techniques in traditional art class.The study was qualitative and began with studies in literature. The contents of the literature are the foundation of the discussion, especially theories concerning the learning process, IT and computer-based learning. In the project, three different groups of students from upper secondary school attended and they where given tasks to solve in the image editing program Paint Shop Pro.

The aim of this study was to explore how young students can be taught during their first year of learning English towards the A1 level according to The European Framework of Reference for Languages, and how the students understand their own learning. The study was carried out in two different classes but with the same teacher, who is qualified to teach English to young learners. The result is based on the analysis of a total of twelve observations of English lessons in two classes in school year one and eight group interviews with the students. Recurrent ingredients through all lessons were activities such as listening to teacher talk, watching films or film clips, singing songs and doing rhymes, using drama activities, talking about the meaning of learning English, practicing guessing competence and learning new vocabulary. The teacher consistently talked about and taught different strategies for language learning.

Vi har gjort en studie om motivation och motivationsarbete i grundskolans specialundervisning och särskolans undervisning. Rapportens syfte är att beskriva hur pedagogerna arbetar med motivation i grundskolans specialundervisning och i särskolan. Studien är genomförd i en medelstor stad och alla informanter är verksamma på samma skola. Vi har utfört den här studien med hjälp av kvalitativ forskningsmetod och använt oss av semistrukturerade intervjuer. I dessa intervjuer framgick det att pedagogerna ansåg att det var viktigt att arbeta med motivation.

Syftet med vår studie var att undersöka hur motivation kan tillvaratas i takt med barns stigande ålder samt vad specialpedagogens kunskap kan bidra med i arbetet. Vi valde att göra en kvalitativ undersökning med fokusgruppsamtal som metod.

A picture says more than thousand words - an analysis of GQ Magazine´s cover images and ninth grade student´s views of them is an essay in media and communication studies covering 15 hp. This essay examines how men and women are depicted on the cover of GQ Magazine and how ninth grade students perceive these images. Our research questions are: How is gender presented in cover images? How do the students interpret these images? What possible differencies or similarities are there? Our theoretical framework is based on gender theory. Methods used are a survey conducted at Tegs Central school and a semiotic analysis of the cover images.

Syftet med studien är att förstå vilken syn pedagoger i skolans tidigare år har på begreppet motivation, samt hur de förhåller sig till arbetet med att skapa och stärka elevens motivation till skolarbetet. Undersökningen lyfter en rad olika aspekter som påverkar vilken motivation som väcks hos eleven och har särskilt fokus på följande faktorer; utmanande aktiviteter, kontroll, vilja, känslor och affekter, lärarens förhållningssätt, feedback, självkänsla, relevans, meningsfullhet och mål. Utifrån en kvalitativ, fenomenologisk ansats med semistrukturerade intervjuer presenteras åtta pedagogers syn på motivation och hur de arbetar för att främja elevens lust att lära. I uppsatsen redogörs resultatet av intervjuerna i relation till bakomliggande teorier och aktuell forskning med hänseende till motivation. Slutligen betonas hemmets betydelse och vikten av att tillgodose elevens olika behov.

The aim of the study is to examine what upper secondary school students think that they themselves and their school can do to create a peaceful society. The study combine qualitative and quantitative methods based on questionnaires distributed among 328 students in three high schools in Sweden. The survey is a combination of multiple choice and open questions. For the analysis of quantitative responses the computer program SPSS was used producing frequency tables and response rate schemes. To analyze the questionnaire's qualitative part a narrative analysis method was used.

Utgångspunkten för denna uppsats har varit sambandet mellan autonomi, självständig motivation och målkongruens. Sambandet har hämtats från Self-Determination Theory, där autonomi anses vara en förutsättning för att uppleva självständig motivation som i sin tur anses viktigt för att skapa målkongruens i en organisation. Då autonomi inte är en självklarhet inom alla yrken har syftet med studien varit att undersöka sambandet mellan motivation och målkongruens bland anställda med standardiserade arbetsuppgifter på ett produktionsföretag. Fallföretaget för studien har varit Sandvik AB som verkar inom tillverkningsindustrin. Det empiriska materialet har inhämtats på en och samma avdelning genom intervjuer med en produktionschef samt nio anställda.

This study attempts to look into and discuss if there are motivation factors involved whentrying to achieve a seeond language, which might effect the acquisition in any direction. Theeducation provided in Halmstad in Swedish as a seeond language is also studied on bases ofthe IDs (Individual Differences) that might occur. The study is carried out by interviews witheight informants. The interviews are analyzed and the results, which support previous researchin the area, are presented; and finally, in the conclusion part, suggestions for future researchare given, along with propos als on how to expand a study in this area..

Syftet är att undersöka på vilket sätt vägledningssamtalet bidrar till individens motivation till förändrad karriärinriktning. Utifrån syftet har följande frågeställning formulerats: Vad är det i vägledningssamtalet som bidrar till individens motivation till förändrad karriärinriktning? För att få svar på frågan har kvalitativ metod använts i form av interjuver med totalt tre respondenter. För att analysera resultatet har SCCT - Social Cognitive Career Theory samt Maslows behovspyramid använts. Resultatet visade att för samtliga intervjupersoner var det flera faktorer som bidrog till deras motivation till att förändra karriärinriktningen.

 English abstract  The culture of hotel and restaurant work.Dangerous for apprentices and students?The study is based on a survey targeting 50 teachers at chef schools with good geographic distribution of 9 schools. Teachers answer questions on bullying and sexual harassment in the hotel and restaurant sector, and students practice shock in the meeting with the industry. Students face a hard and tough environment where it is expected that it will suffer a great deal of harassment and degrading treatment as part of a tradition. There seems to be a general but erroneous belief that the professional climate has improved.

Undersökningen har gett mig en bättre förståelse av begreppet motivation som är definierat på många olika sätt och används i olika teorier och diskussioner. Enligt Imsen (2000) kan motivation komma från inre eller yttre krafter. Skolverket (2003) framhåller att motivation är ett komplext begrepp som består av den kognitiva processen, elevernas känslor och de kulturella förhållanden som eleverna befinner sig i. Utifrån min egen erfarenhet och olika vetenskapliga teorier, som jag har läst, har jag fått min uppfattning om motivation. Enligt min uppfattning innebär motivation en rad olika aktiviteter, där läraren behöver forma arbetsklimat, starka undervisningsbetingelser, stödja elever individuellt och i gruppen samt uppmuntra engagemang.Undersökningen har gett mig en bättre förståelse av begreppet motivation som är definierat på många olika sätt och används i olika teorier och diskussioner.

Background: The competition is getting harder between the universities. To reach the high school students and discover which means of contact they prefer and how they perceive student recruitment are important issues in order to succeed in marketing strategies.Purpose: The purpose with our report is to investigate, analyze and compare the student recruitment in three universities and investigate how the high school students want to be contacted. Then we compare to see if they think alike.Method: We have done a qualitative study and chosen to use focus group interviews for the high school students and interviews for the universities to collect our empirical data. We have compared the empirical data and analyzed it with communication processes and marketing communication as theoretical grounds.Result: All of the universities work approximately the same way with their student recruitment. They put a large effort in the Internet and social networks as well as the personal contact.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate how actors involved in a municipal's adult education view students access to information- and library resources. The adult education in the municipal is on contract which means that there are several different actors involved in the realization of the adult education. The raised questions in this study deals with; libraries role within adult education, students needs for becoming information literate and where responsibilities for students access to libraries lies. We used a qualitative method which includes interviews with two principles, a controller, three pedagogues and a librarian. The empirical data is analysed against taxonomies and categories which originates from the theories of David Loertscher and Christine Bruce.
