Government regulations and customs duties restrict the import of trucks to some of the markets to which Scania tries to sell their trucks. The distribution problem due to these regulations is solved by the foreign assembly department, KD, at Scania. This means that competence is needed and costs are added not related to Scania's core operations.The aim of this master thesis has been to analyse and to evaluate alternative ways of managing the packing operations considering cost, quality and work organisation. To study and examine the work methods and operations of today and also to present methods measuring the operations effectiveness and productivity.We have used the system approach to maintain totality and to understand the component's relation to this totality. Field studies combined with studies of relevant literature and studies of other companies operations have given us the knowledge and the understanding of the packing operations needed.

This essay has been made on behalf of the co-operative society Mäster Grön, which is selling ornamental plants to retailers in Sweden. The aim of this study has been to find out what added value Mäster Grön gets from their co-branding with the Swedish Seal of quality. The main topic of discussion was; how much value added does this co-branding give to Mäster Gröns pot plants? Are there differences from a customer point of view in value added between a garden center and a retail store? How much weight does the costumer put on the branding when buying a plant? Does the customer know what the values of Mäster Grön and Swedish Seal of quality mean? Two questions of lesser worth were asked to the consumers about what they thought about the protective plastic around the plant, and if they were interested in getting more information about the origin as well as the method of production of the plant. The study was divided into two parts, one in which customers were observed and one where the customers answered a survey.

The first ad was published in Sweden 1645. Advertising itself is not a new phenomenon, it's just the conditions that has been changed. Today, advertising is a matter of course in our daily lives, every day we are exposed to thousands of messages that wants to persuade and convince us to consume. In this paper, we have looked into the semiotic and rhetorical tricks that are used for this particular persuasion, and we have investigated whether they have changed in the last 60 years or if the same tricks are still being used today. Our two hypotheses is: A) the rhetorical and semiotic basis of an ad looks the same today as 60 years ago.

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between perceived popularity, social information processing and working memory. With the intentions of examining popularity 209 (98 female, 111 male) children in second and fourth grade were presented with a roster of their classmates and were to nominate whom they liked and whom they disliked. To study working memory capacity a working memory test, that places demands on the participant to work both with and store the given information, was used. To examine children's cognitive processing of empathy-provoking information a cognitive appraisal interview was conducted. The results imply (a) that working memory increases with age, (b) that there is a weak relation between working memory capacity and popularity, and between popularity and cognitive processing styles and (c) that there are some strong correlations between working memory and cognitive processing styles..

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka och identifiera funktions- och designprinciper för en ny typ av webbaserat system, Designbank. Systemet kom att bestå av en webbplats och ett verktyg vars uppgift var att generera den nödvändiga programmeringen vid skapandet av en dynamisk webbplats. För att utmärka sig från konkurrenter så beslutades Designbank drivas som en webbyrå för frilansdesigners. En layout för webbplatsen designbank.se byggdes med hjälp av en teoretisk ?verktygslåda? som kom att bestå av i litteraturen funna teorier för användarvänlighet och genredesign.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att med en målgrupp som utgångspunkt undersöka vilken typ av formspråk och känsla de vill ha gällande utseende och innehåll i livsstilsmagasin. Den målgrupp som är överrepresenterad inom denna kategori av magasin är kvinnor i åldrarna 20-35. Vi har därför avgränsat oss till denna målgrupp i vår undersökning. För att få svar på frågeställningen ?vad vill målgruppen kvinnor i åldern 20-35 ha för ämnesinnehåll och formkänsla i ett livsstilsmagasin för kvinnor?? har vi genomfört en enkätstudie och en workshop.

This Master thesis studies how a diversified institutional care organisation can optimise its collective knowledge resources so to manage and distribute this knowledge to different parts of the organisation with help of the organisations intranet. The purpose of the study is to examine if knowledge management and the organisations intranet can be used to create, store, transfer and better use the knowledge within the organisation. Through a case study the thesis will look at different knowledge processes and their relation to the organisations intranet. The case study includes a questionnaire for the whole organisation and qualitative interviews with seven persons from different levels of the organisation. The theoretical framework of the study approaches knowledge management and intranet through four knowledge processes.

Allt fler tillverkningsföretag utmanas idag att tillgodose kundorderstyrd produktion med en hög grad av kundanpassning för att svara mot kundernas efterfrågan på marknaden. Detta kan generera stora variationer i bearbetningstider mellan olika produkter som, i samband med långa bearbetningstider, medför längre genomloppstider och sänkning av den genomsnittliga utleveranstakten. Vid kundorderstyrd produktion är det viktigt att identifiera begränsningar och balansera flödet för att uppnå högt resursutnyttjande och hög leveransservice. PartAB är ett tillverkande företag av prefabricerade badrumsmoduler. Produktionen är kundorderstyrd produktion med hög grad av kundanpassning, där bearbetningstiderna är långa och har stor variation.

Examensarbetet genomfördes under hösten 2005 på Hållarefabriken, SKF Sverige AB, i Göteborg. Projektgruppen bestod av två civilingenjörsstudenter från instutitionerna Arbetsvetenskap och Industriell Ekonomi och Samhällsvetenskap, vid Luleå Tekniska Universitet. Arbetet ?Framtidslayout för Hållarefabriken, SKF Göteborg? handlar om att ta fram en layout för Hållarefabriken som visar hur fabriken kan se ut om 10 år. Hållarefabriken tillverkar hållare, som är en komponent i ett rullager.

The purpose of this essay has been to study if the social services adjust the choice of institution to every juvenile's need of care. If the choice of institution isn't adjusted to the juveniles the institutional placement can become a way to store them rather then treat them.To accomplish the purpose of the essay we have interviewed ten social workers with different worktitles and positions. We have delimited the study to three swedish communities with varying sizes. We have analyzed the material with Bourdieus theory of "field" and "doxa" and Antonovskys theory "a sense of coherence" (SOC).We came to the conclusion that the social service adjusted the choice of institution to the juveniles needs as much as possible. Although there are a couple of factors that some times makes the best choices impossible.

This report is the final part within our education, Industrial Organization and Economy focusing on Logistics and Management at Jönköping School of Engineering. The aim with this report is to coordinate recycle drives for deposited aluminum-cans and bottles collected from grocery stores within Jönköping county and locality.In the present situation both aluminum cans and bottles filled with drinks are distributed to the grocery stores by the brewery?s own distributers. At the same time as they supply the drinks they also discharge the grocery stores units with restored aluminumcans and bottles. To make it easier for the grocery stores to handle the goods in the future, all distribution of drinks ought to be directly delivered to the grocery stores own separate central warehouse.

The report descripbs how a diplexer for a hybrid analog/digital filterbank has been constructed and tested. A diplexer divides the frequency band into two different bands that do not who doesn't overlapp each other. The sampling rate for the two ADC:s is 80 Msps, and therefore it is advantage to have zero at 80 MHz. The reason for this is that a proposed class of hybrid filterbanks with very good quality requires a zero at or close the sampling frequency to work well. The diplexer was made in three versions.

Formal writing is an essential part of teaching Swedish and is fundamental for higher education and professional career. The aim of my essay is to research what didactic methods Swedish teachers utilizes in upper secondary school to improve students' abilities to write formal texts. I will also examine students? project papers in an attempt to measure the extent of formal word choice.  In the presentation of the literature I decided to use, for example, Per Olov Svedner?s perspective on writing as a process, Siv Strömquist?s manuals for essay writing and various literature regarding linguistic correctness and essay layout. Interviews with three upper secondary school teachers reveals that active feedback is a basis for students development regarding formal writing in both school and professional career.

Min projektredogörelse består av en barnbok som man i förskolan ska kunna använda sig av som ett pedagogiskt verktyg för att underlätta och synliggöra vad som komma skall för de barn som ska börja i förskoleklass. Fenomenet förskoleklass har funnits sedan 1998 men är väldigt svår att lokalisera i litteratur, och då speciellt i barnlitteraturen. Det finns många böcker som berör skolstarten, men jag har inte hittat några som fokuserar på övergången mellan just förskola och förskoleklass. Därför tyckte jag att det var en rolig utmaning att göra en uppdaterad barnbok som speglar verksamheterna så som de ser ut i dagsläget. Jag har också haft som mål att se hur man ute i verksamheterna jobbar för att eventuellt förebygga att förskoleklassen blir ett så kallat tionde skolår. Resultatet blev en bok, som berör övergången mellan förskola och förskoleklass, genom ett klassiskt upplägg av berättelsen, men med ett ovanligt ämne och med en layout som sticker ut från mängden.
