The world?s consumption is increasing at an accelerating rate and it´s produced and consumed more goods and services than ever before. A large part of people's consumption consists of clothing that is bought and discarded increasingly leading to a number of environmental problems such as global warming, pollution, loss of biodiversity and the depletion of natural assets. One way to save the earth's resources is to buy used clothing, so called second hand, instead of new ones. The store chain ?The Ants? (in Swedish ?Myrorna?) has specializing in second-hand goods and sells, among other things, clothes.

Fabriken vid SCA Packaging Förpackningsservice i Värnamo har under en längre tid haft en layout som inte har varit ändamalsenlig till dess funktion. För att kunna möta ökad konkurrens och interna krav pa effektivisering behövdes en ny lösning för maskinuppställning och flödeshantering.1 oktober 2005 inleddes examensarbetet vid SCA i Värnamo, då det hade beslutats att en limmaskin skulle flyttas in i de redan trångbodda lokalerna. Examensarbetarna fick i uppgift att, med gängse metoder, ta fram en ny layout som dels var möjlig ur ett rent praktiskt perspektiv, och dels sa effektiv att den nya maskinen kunde installeras utan att nyanställningar skulle behövas göras.1 inledningsfasen gjordes en flödeskartläggning av produktionen vid företaget med hjälp av de produktionskort som används i tillverkningen. Denna flödesanalys låg senare till grund för hur den nya layouten utformades. Med metoden systematisk lokalplanläggning arbetades en ny maskinuppställning fram.

I denna studie har vi undersökt vilka mjukvarukvalitetsfaktorer som är viktiga för slutanvändare. De sex kvalitetsfaktorer vi funnit i teori om mjukvarukvalitet har undersökts och jämförts med empirin. Studien visar på att slutanvändarna anser att viktiga kvalitetsfaktorer är funktionalitet, tillförlitlighet, användbarhet och även i viss mån effektivitet samt att faktorerna underhållbarhet och portabilitet är av mindre vikt enligt slutanvändarna..

This study examines retail atmospherics from a reality perspective. The topic "special exposure" has received research interest in the past but it has not been recognized as a critical consideration in the daily retail business. Too many retailers leave assortment decisions to thumb rules or trial and error. The highest aim of this study is in addressing that gap between theory and practice. To catch the attention of the customer is important in supermarkets because most grocery purchase decisions are made at the point of purchase.

Launching and marketing a health food product is associated with larger problems than a launch of a traditional food product. There are several sales channels that can be used for a health food product, for example the product can be sold as a traditional food product, natural health food product or as a prescription drug. A smaller company can however experience problems while launching its product as a prescription drug because of the large costs associated with this particular sales channel. There is often no other alternative than to launch the product as a traditional food product, this can however create other problems because of the existing regulations on what can and cannot be mentioned in the marketing of a health food product. The limited amount of information about the product that can be enclosed together with it makes it hard for a company to differentiate and position it on the market.

The thesis concerns itself with studying the effects private brands has on the consumer?s impulse buying in the grocery industry, as in degree of unplanned spending and the selection process between manufacturer brands and private brands when such a purchase is performed. The study?s methodology is characterised by a qualitative approach, whereby the study acknowledges the inductive approach towards the empirical setting even though the Mehrabian-Russell model along with motivational theories serve as highlighters of relevant aspects in the empirical field. The study concludes that both the utilitarian and the hedonic consumer decide what to buy before entering the store, whereby a low degree of needs arise in the store.

Abstract (in English)During the last fifty years, the waste in an average Swedish household has increased by about five hundred percent. In order to manage (eller take care of) all of this new waste, Swedes need a method of facilitating the handling process. In this report, both the habits and needs among private households across Sweden are investigated, followed by a pertinent solution to the waste problem. How to put them together and make a good looking presentation, which is understandable and attractive. The work is directed to students working with presentations, using both pictures and texts..

Syftet med arbetet har varit att undersöka hur en presentationstjänst med karta och realtid på webben visualiseras för olika presentationsplattformar. Arbetet har resulterat i en designmodell med fokus på grafisk layout för PC, PDA och Wap-telefon. Designmodellen är tänkt att fungera som en vägvisare vid utveckling av grafiska användargränssnitt för olika presentationsplattformar. Designmodellen baseras på vedertagna teorier inom ämnesområdet. Med utgångspunkt av vad som framkommit från teorierna har en designmodell konstruerats.

BT Products avdelning för slangtillverkning har i dagsläget problem med att klara av dagens produktionstakt. Målet med detta arbete är att identifiera och komma till rätta med dagens problem samt förbereda avdelningen inför en taktökning från dagens 50 000 till 60 000 truckar per år. I arbetets första skede gjordes en beskrivning av nuläget. Detta genom att observera och aktivt delta i arbete på avdelningen, intervjua personal, samla in data och göra en tidsstudie. Med resultatet av tidsstudien och datainsamlingen gjordes en beräkning av hur mycket tid som behövs för att hinna med dagens produktionstakt.

BT Products avdelning för slangtillverkning har i dagsläget problem med att klara av dagens produktionstakt. Målet med detta arbete är att identifiera och komma till rätta med dagens problem samt förbereda avdelningen inför en taktökning från dagens 50 000 till 60 000 truckar per år.  I arbetets första skede gjordes en beskrivning av nuläget. Detta genom att observera och aktivt delta i arbete på avdelningen, intervjua personal, samla in data och göra en tidsstudie. Med resultatet av tidsstudien och datainsamlingen gjordes en beräkning av hur mycket tid som behövs för att hinna med dagens produktionstakt. Beräkningen visade att drygt hälften av den tillgängliga tiden borde räcka för att klara denna och att maskinernas kapacitet gott och väl räcker till.  De problem som identifierats som orsak till att produktionen ändå inte hinns med är främst dålig layout, ineffektiva arbetssätt, onödiga arbetsmoment samt planeringsproblem kopplat till eftersläpning i produktionen.    För att åtgärda dessa problem och förbereda slangavdelningen för en 60 000 takt har en rad förbättringsförslag arbetats fram. Ett förslag på en ny layout har gjorts för att uppnå ett bättre flöde i produktionen med mindre transporter och färre onödiga förflyttningar. Ett införande av standardiserat arbete bör göras för att säkerställa att alltid det mest effektiva arbetssättet används. Fler maskiner behöver inte införskaffas för att klara av produktionen, om de inte köps in i syfte att användas som säkerhetskapacitet, men en del hjälputrustning bör införskaffas för att underlätta och förbättra arbetet på avdelningen. Exempel på detta är en bättre slangvinda, streckkodläsare och monteringsutrustning.  .

This is a report for a bachelor degree thesis in electronics at Umeå university. The target was to design a fully functional PCB-layout and then solder components to it. In order to do that I had to first proofread a schematic of the system to find things that were not correct and correct them. The project is a cooperation between the author and the company Calmon Stegmotorteknik. During the whole project the people at Calmon supported the author with the appropriate knowledge to complete the tasks.
