The purpose of this study was to inquire how social workers perceive and describe financial abuse of older persons. Six qualitative interviews were carried out and the assembled data was then categorized and analyzed using a theory considering exercise of power and ageism as a theoretical frame. Previous research has shown that at least 10% of older persons have been exposed to some form of abuse or violence; however, there is a lack of research carried out in a Swedish context regarding financial abuse specifically. The six persons interviewed in this study all presented financial abuse as some kind of violence and as previous research has shown the study suggests that this is an increasing problem. Further research ought to be carried out to increase the awareness of this particular form of abuse and to facilitate discovery and development of measures to prevent financial abuse of older persons.

Sönderdelning av malm är ett grundläggande steg i utvinningsprocessen för att separera värdemineraler från övrig sten. I Skandinavien används oftast autogenkvarnar (AG) för malning. Effektiviteten i sönderdelningsprocessen är väldigt låg. Genom att kategorisera och övervaka parametrarna i processen kan den optimeras. I detta projekt undersöks indirekta mätmetoder för att bestämma fyllnadsgraden i malmkvarnarna, på uppdrag av New Boliden AB.

Confusion can be a life threatening condition that is often missed by the nurses, thus it occurs in the same range as pain, fever or infections. Aim: The aim of this study was to describe the phenomenon of confusion among elderly patients, in order to establish a wider understanding of the patient's nursing needs. Method: Literature study based on scientific material. Results: The result showed the patient's ability to recollect and reconstruct episodes of confusion. During the confusion the stories contained a wide variety of experiences, such as threat, fear, suspicion, chaos and order, unreal experiences, a need to escape and a bad sleep.

Many organizational changes have been accomplished in elder care since the 1980's and many of those have been influenced by market mechanisms. The purpose of this study is to examine how the implementation of these market mechanisms has affected three important aspects in the work situation for personnel. These aspects are, demand, control and support. To attain the purpose of this study, five qualitative interviews with home care personnel have been carried out. The interview material has been analyzed and structured with the help of Karasek and Theorells demand-control-support model.

Detta projekt har haft till syfte att få en ökad förståelse för materialet och dess egenskaper vid dragning. Det har utförts sex olika försök, vilka har genomförts med två olika ingångsvinklar, 12° och 18°, hos sten, liten nibs samt stor nibs. Försöken har genomförts i produktion där prover har tagits ut för att sedan ha analyserats i labb. Resultat från dragprov, hårdhetsprofil, martensithalts- samt smörjmedelsmängdsmätning har studerats och lett fram till slutsatser.Slutsatserna som dragits visar på att ytan på tråden dragen med ingångsvinkel 12° hade färre defekter än tråd som var dragen med 18°. Defekter som hittades på tråd dragen med stor nibs 18° bestod till stor del av tvärsprickor.

Background: Physological abuse consists of threats, harassment, humiliation, telling off, refuse to talk, social isolation, abandonment as well as attitudes that lead to a feeling of insecurity and desperation. Institutional elder abuse is very elusive and an overall picture is still considered missing.Aim: The purpose of this essay was to review psychological abuse within the elderly care.Method: This essay is based on a literature study with systematic search.Result: This article review led to main categories and the result of the study is presented after these. The first ones gives a picture of the kind of psychological abuse that occured within the the elderly care. The second one deals with the possible explanations for psychological abuse within elderly care. The result showed that verbal assault was the most common form of psychological abuse against elderly.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka vad eleverna på gymnasiet anser vara viktigast att lära sig inom historieämnet samt att se vilken skillnad det finns mellan de elever som har föräldrar med förgymnasial utbildning, föräldrar med gymnasial utbildning och föräldrar med eftergymnasial utbildning. Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av en enkätundersökning i fyra olika klasser; en barn- och fritidsklass, en naturvetenskaplig klass och två samhällsvetenskapliga klasser. En jämförelse har sedan gjorts med andra liknande undersökningar, t.ex. Youth- and history-undersökningen från 1995 och Sture Långströms undersökning från 2000. Resultaten från min undersökning och de andra pekar på att eleverna anser att det är viktigast och mest intressant med nutidshistoria i Europa och Sverige.

Den här uppsatsen redovisar en uttalsstudie bland personer med arabiska som förstaspråk. Studien är dels kontrastiv då den undersöker uttalsavvikelser i det svenska språket utifrån den kontrastiva hypotesen, dels en attitydundersökning som tar upp både inlärares och lärares attityd till uttalsavvikelser. Fokus ligger på vokalerna, konsonanterna och de prosodiska egenskaperna (ordbetoning och längd) som brukar ställa till med problem vid andraspråksinlärning.I studien används två metoder, dels uttalstest, och dels intervjuer med inlärare och lärare. Uttalstestet består av två delar: styrt tal, d.v.s. en uppläst text, och fritt tal om ett specifikt ämne.

Syftet med denna studie var att underso?ka om gruppbehandling med kognitiv beteendeterapi kunde minska graden av emetofobiska symptom.

The aim of this study is to investigate how a number of fathers read and what their perceptions of both their own readingand the reading they experience with their child/children look like. I also want to investigate their thoughts about the importance of reading to children. The study is based upon qualitative interviewswith four fathers who are active readers and have children between 3-6 years of age. The analysis does not offer any generalizations. As a conceptual framework for this study, I used Sten Furhammar?s categories of different types of reading to find out what fathers reading habits look like and what they wish to obtain.

Till följd av den hårda utbyggnaden av vårt samhälle åtgår en stor mängd naturresurser. Samtidigt som samhället utveckas sätts allt högre krav på att det ska hushållas med naturresurser, inte minst genom införandet av miljömålet en ?God bebyggd miljö?. Enligt detta miljömål ska användningen av såväl mark som naturresurser ske på ett så hållbart sätt som möjligt. Samtidigt med detta skapar den svenska stålindustrin över en miljon ton slagg årligen, varav en stor del deponeras.

The purpose with this qualitative interview-study was to try, from the carer´s point of view, to describe the meaning and the essence of the good meeting. The participants were selectively chosen and were all women of varying life- and professional experience. They were interviewed with four interrogative forms that dealt with the experiences of the meaning and the essence of the good meeting. The analysis of the contents of the four interviews produced five themes: the meaning and the essence of aware presence in the good meeting, the meaning and the essence of the personal alliance, the carer's need of being seen and getting appreciation, the courage to bring up insulting behaviors while still preserving the relationship, personal qualities of the care. Aware presence was to be a main theme through out the meeting.

The aim of this study is to explore the approach and views on female genital mutilation(FGM) among young women from Somalia, and how they perceive the tradition afterimmigration to Sweden. This is structured under the following questions: What do theyknow about FGM? What are their experiences? And what do they reckon about FGMtoday? The study is based on one recorded interview with a group of young femalesfrom Somalia. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis. The women?sfeelings were ambivalent though they on one hand opposed FGM because of serioushealth risks, but on the other hand were conscious of the tradition?s great influence inthe social network and daily life.
