The purpose of this thesis is to explore whether male kindergarten teachers perceive additional expectations from their surroundings (such as co-workers and parents). Furthermore, we aim to understand and explain how these expectations are related to gender norms and hierarchies in society, that is social constructions concerning what men and women should do and be like. In addition, the thesis aspire to understand and explain how these constructions relate to more specific social constructions about sexual molestations in kindergarten contexts and explore how these discourses influence male kindergarten teachers in their work including which strategies they use in order to cope with them.How do male kindergarten teachers perceive additional expectations from their surroundings?How do male kindergarten teachers perceive the effects and consequences of the social constructions about sexual molestations in kindergarten contexts? Metod: Vi har samlat ihop kvartalsrapporter från 1999 års första kvartal till 2009 års första kvartal för totalt 10 stycken företag som vi bedömt lämpliga för studien, 5 företag från IT-branschen samt 5 företag från industribranschen. Vi har därefter fört regressionsanalyser med antal anställda som Y-variabel och totala intäkter, aktienivå, rörelsekostnader samt rörelseresultat som X-variabler för att finna korrelationen däremellan. Slutsats: De framkomna resultaten från regressionsanalyserna pekar på att det finns skillnader branscherna emellan.

This study was made in an attempt to give the forest research centre Mógilsá a producedtetratherm map and a better understanding of how topography and temperature influencethe growth of two tree species. The digital tetratherm map model, covering the northernpart of Iceland, was developed to investigate the correlation between tetratherm and thegrowth of Picea sitchensis and Larix (sukaczewii + sibirica). The study confirms theusefulness of digital terrain models in providing data for a lot of different factors and forthe tetratherm model. Hopefully will this tetratherm map be used in future studies.Secondly, investigations were made correlating the growth of the two species againsttopographic factors representing height above sea level, distance to the sea, slope andtopex. Thirdly, investigations were made comparing the aspect and the ground shape tothe growth.The growth rate of Larix had strong significant correlations to the tetratherm and thedistance to the sea- factors.

Denna uppsats undersöker vad som påverkar lärares upplevda problem med arbetsförhållanden samt deras upplevda arbetstillfredsställelse. Tidigare forskning visar att faktorer som kön, ålder samt upplevt stöd från rektorn ofta är prediktorer för dessa begrepp. Datan är hämtad från Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) från 2011. Utifrån dessa data utförs multipel regression samt jämförelser av medelvärden och andelar med hjälp av makron för att söka svar på frågeställningarna. The purpose is to explore and describe norms and values concerning emotions and emotional expression inSweden and Greece from an emotionsociological perspective. Do emotional regimes on a national level existand if they do, how do they differ? To answer this question qualitative interviews have been conducted withnine Greek/Swedes, men and women of different ages, who have lived in both countries and who speak bothlanguages. A quantitative survey study, employing a survey previously used in a Swedish study about emotions,has also been undertaken. Previous studies have shown that emotional regimes do differ historically and acrosscultures, but no study so far has focused on the differences between examples of North European and SouthEuropean cultures.The theoretical framework consists mainly of Hochschild´s theories about feeling/display rules and emotionwork, but the analysis also draws on Collin´s theory of interaction ritual chains and on Sociology of Emotionsmore broadly.The results suggest that different national regimes can be distinguished primarily in terms of display rules andin the skills of emotional alternations.

Nearly 50 years after the building of the first million programme neighbourhoods many Swedish municipalities faces an extensive restoration work in these neighbourhoods which during their relatively short lifetime have acted as a target for a large amount of criticism. Öster in Gävle is a million programme neighbourhood that has gone through an extensive restoration between 2001-2009 with the aim of improving the living environment. Improvements have been made in the outdoor environment, to the facades of the houses and the entrances? of each building. The purpose of this study has been to investigate the effects of the renewal in the physical outdoor environment for those who live in the neighbourhood.

AbstractAccording to several researchers finance is scarce, scarcer for small businesses than for big enterprises. Small and medium-sized enterprises, SMEs, that want to start exporting and sales or manufacturing abroad need capital to get ready. Which capital structure and financial costs do they have, and which forms of finance do they actually use for that purpose. New american research by Mansi, Reeb (2002) has suggested, that there is a positive connection between leverage and a negative one between financial costs and internationalization, and that a non-linear model better describes this connection.This study has gathered data in two ways: Through a questionnaire from 37 SMEs and balance sheet figures from totally 166 manufacturing SMEs. In order to examine, whether the company was active on the international market, 200 SMEs in south Sweden were asked, if they exported to, produced or sold on any other market than their home market.

The Master Thesis has been carried out in cooperation with Silva Sweden AB and the objective was to develop a new product concept within the product category for everyday exercise. The purpose of the thesis was to use and analyze methods and tools which aid creativity and concept creation in order to make method recommendations for future projects.During the thesis a number of customer needs were identified, which in turn were translated into 20 concepts. On a concept decision meeting a pedometer-based concept was chosen for development. The new pedometer is in addition to counting steps also able to measure and calculate the user?s total climbed height during a day and present this graphically in comparison to famous monuments or distances.

Bakgrund och problem: Sedan år 2005 är det obligatoriskt för samtliga EU-länderatt tillämpa IFRS-regelverket vid upprättande av koncernredovisning. I samband medinförandet av IFRS togs möjligheten att skriva av goodwillposten bort till förmån förobligatoriska nedskrivningstester. Ett flertal studier visar dock att användningen avIFRS-regelverket inte är homogent mellan IFRS-länderna, vilket får till följd attjämförbarheten mellan europeiska företag kan ifrågasättas.Syfte: Vi avser i denna uppsats att undersöka utvecklingen av goodwillposten iEuropa sedan införandet av IFRS. Uppsatsen diskuterar också olika faktorer sompåverkar företagens val att genomföra en nedskrivning av goodwillposten.Avgränsningar: I studien har vi enbart valt att arbeta med företag inom sex styckenIFRS-länder i Europa under åren 2006-2013. För att få ingå i vår studie krävs attföretagen har haft en redovisad goodwillpost i balansräkningen under något av destuderade åren.Metod: Vi har använt en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod där insamlad data studerasmed hjälp av nyckeltal, en multipel linjär regression samt en logistisk regression.Resultat och slutsatser: I studien kan vi visa att det finns skillnader avseendegoodwillpostens utveckling mellan olika länder för branscherna informationsteknologioch industri.

This paper investigates the determinants of corporate cash holdings for a broad sample of Swedish non-financial firms in the 1999 - 2009 period. Using a fixed effect regression model, we find that firms with riskier cash flow hold relatively high ratios of cash to total assets. This is in line with both the precautionary motive and agency motive for cash holdings. Net working capital is found to be negatively related to corporate cash holdings. A result commonly interpreted as support for a negative substitution effect between net working capital and cash.

Tidigare forskning har genom att studera alla tillgängliga företag eller företag medudda branscher exkluderade identifierat vissa nyckeltal som bra indikatorer påfinansiell kris. I denna studie undersöks om dessa nyckeltal även ger ettsamstämmigt resultat för en udda bransch. Med utgångspunkt frånbioteknikbranschen identifieras genom logistisk regression nyckeltalen korta skuldergenom eget kapital och avkastning på investerat kapital som indikatorer på finansiell kris.Avkastning på investerat kapital överensstämmer med tidigare resultat, medan kortaskulder genom eget kapital bör, för denna bransch, tolkas tvärt emot jämfört medtidigare studier..

Här beskriver vi hur väl vi lyckats besvara vår frågeställning och hur syftet med uppsatsen uppfyllts. I denna uppsats har vi undersökt och värderat åtta ledande telekombolag i Europa. De värderingsmetoder vi använt oss av är fritt kassaflöde till aktieägarna (FCFE) och en relativvärdering i form av regressioner av tre multiplar. Vi har dessutom jämfört bolagens aktuella multipelvärden (27 april 2012) med sektorgruppens medelvärde eller median. Genom en värdering av de åtta bolagen har vi sökt svar på vår frågeställning och därmed uppnått vårt syfte.

In this thesis we examine the relationship between board composition and firm performance in Swedish companies. The selection of companies includes all Swedish limited liability companies, with the exception of micro enterprises, that have been active between the years of 2009-2010. We develop hypotheses based on resource dependence theory, agency theory, and the resource based view, and test these with regression analysis against collected data. Specifically, we examine the effects of board diversity, outside directorships, and CEO duality. Our findings show that none of the theories provide sufficient explanatory power of the relationship between board composition and firm performance, and that further research is required to better understand the role and effects of company boards..
