AbstractMany of the refugees around the world today are children. Some of these children are travelling alone without anyone looking after them. These children flee from their countries to save their lives and as they are children they need special care and protection. This thesis has investigated the protection given to unaccompanied children during the asylum process in the two key instruments in the area: the Convention of the Rights of the Child and the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees. The Refugee Convention does not contain any procedural rights and does not specifically acknowledge children, even though they are included in the scope of the Convention.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att undervisa i musik och ensemblespel på en anstalt och studera vilka effekter undervisningen har på internernas aggressiva beteende och destruktiva tänkande. Aktionsforskningen baseras på teorin om att ensemblespel även är en utmanande och effektiv gruppsykologisk övning. Situationen tvingar dig att ta ansvar för din uppgift i gruppen i realtid. Den negativa, kollektiva konsekvensen av en persons misstag är snabb och konkret. Studien vill se om musik och ensembleundervisning kan användas i såväl träningen av interners samarbetsförmåga och tolerans som ett verktyg för interners utveckling inom kognitivt beteendeterapi.

Syftet med studien a?r att beskriva erfarenheter elever i gymnasiesa?rskolan har av a?mnet matematik. Den teoretiska ansatsen utga?r fra?n grunderna i konstruktionismen och Berger och Luckmann's (2008) kunskapssociologiska fo?rha?llningssa?tt. Jag analyserar mina resultat utifra?n Hacking (2000) och ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv.Studien a?r kvalitativ och gruppintervju anva?nds som metod.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att få ökad kunskap om nyexaminerade lärares möte med sina nya arbetsplatser och att mer specifikt se på kopplingen mellan lärarutbildningens olika delar och yrkeslivet. Frågor som har behandlats var om lärares socialisation in i läraryrket, pedagogiska teorier i lärarutbildningen och praxisnära teorier i yrkeslivet.Uppsatsen har sin grund i en fallstudie från 2006 där studenter under sin sista termin på lärarutbildningen har intervjuats, och därifrån har vi gått vidare med en ny fallstudie där lärare som har varit ute i yrkeslivet ett till två år har intervjuats. Vid de senare intervjuerna har även en didaktisk analys/observation gjorts före intervjutillfället. För att få en uppfattning om studenters syn på det teoretiska innehållet i lärarutbildningen har även en enkät med en öppen fråga gjorts.Uppsatsen har visat på att kraven som ställs på lärarutbildningen är höga och motsägelsefulla. Staten betonar akademisering av utbildningen.

Leken har en stor betydelse för barns utveckling. För barn som är i behov av särskilt stöd ex. svårt att koncentrera sig eller brister i sitt lekbeteende, finns lekarbete som är ett specialpedagogiskt arbetssätt. Lekarbete står för ?barnet i lek arbetar med sin utveckling?.

Student recruitment? - Three teachers? thoughts concerning children's first experiences in municipal arts and music schools. The aim of this thesis is to explore three teacher' experiences of recruitment of students to arts and music schools. The thesis includes thoughts about how teachers can inspire students and why the orchestral string bass is an infrequent choice of instrument to study. I have examined the issues through a qualitative study where I have interviewed three licensed string bass teachers of different ages and backgrounds.

Partly as a reaction to a perceived crisis in contemporary democracy, the nineties witnessed an upsurge in different forms of citizens? fora, dedicated to the promotion of increased participation by the citizen in the political process. Youth councils are a special point in case as they entail the general characteristics of a deliberative forum, with an emphasis on political learning. This study aims to undertake an evaluation of a regional youth council in the region of Skåne in the south of Sweden. Through qualitative analysis, the study aims to portray the origin, purposes and consequences of such a forum.

Pet rabbits are increasing in popularity and the owners want the same treatment for them as they would want for a dog or a cat. However, the knowledge among clinical staff about these small animals is not always up to date. The aim of this paper is to highlight the needs of the pet rabbit and how these can be met regarding veterinary nursing. Pet rabbits are different from dogs and cats in several ways and their needs as patients differ as well. Rabbits are herbivorous prey animals. To avoid predators, they are very reluctant to show any sign of weakness for as long as they can.

Avsikten med undersökningen är att undersöka lärares och handledares uppfattningar om distansundervisning för elever i behov av särskilt stöd samt att undersöka några elevers uppfattningar om distansstudier. Denna studie bygger på en enkätundersökning bland handledare och distansundervisande lärare samt ett antal intervjuer med distansstuderande grundskoleelever i svenska utlandsskolor.

This paper investigates the methods used by teachers when teaching elementary mathematics to children with Swedish as their second language. The original mathematical terminology derives from Latin, Greek and Arabic, this terminology is not of great importance in this paper, the everyday language spoken in elementary classes when teaching mathematical concepts and calculations to younger children is. The use of everyday language is an advantage for children with Swedish as their second language as mathematical problems presented in a more plain language is easier to comprehend and solve than problems in mere numerals. Special teachers in home language classes often have the task of clarifying the mathematical concepts, introduced to the children during mathematical lessons, in the pupils first acquired language. A qualitative method was used in this study.

Den här studien har genomförts för att undersöka hur en gitarrlektion fungerar över internet och hur den upplevs av dess användare. Undersökningen har genomförts genom att jag och två av mina gitarrelever har utforskat två olika gitarrhemsidor. Vi har tagit lektioner från dessa sidor. Där visas materialet genom video, ljud och med eller utan tabulatur. Därefter har mina elever intervjuats där de bland annat har fått svara på frågor om vad de tyckte om hemsidan, lektionen och lärarens kvalitet och hur det kändes att inte ha en lärare närvarande vid lektionstillfället.

The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to analyze if there are differences in the way of explainingthe causes of The Great Emigration from Sweden to America in the late 1800s/beginningof the 1900s. Due to the researcher?s education the thesis has a didactic, and comparativeperspective between how history textbooks aimed for Middle School and High School andhow the exhibition Drömmen om Amerika (= The Dream of America), in Vaxjo, Sweden,explains this phenomena. A special analysis scheme is applied to the sources in a way to makeit clear to the reader how informative they are and how much effort they put in the explaining.The outcome of the analysis shows that the exhibition gives the visitor a wider, deeper,and more informative depiction of The Great Emigration, compared to the textbooks? moresummarized extracts.
