Den här studien har genomförts för att undersöka hur en gitarrlektion fungerar över internet och hur den upplevs av dess användare. Undersökningen har genomförts genom att jag och två av mina gitarrelever har utforskat två olika gitarrhemsidor. Vi har tagit lektioner från dessa sidor. Där visas materialet genom video, ljud och med eller utan tabulatur. Därefter har mina elever intervjuats där de bland annat har fått svara på frågor om vad de tyckte om hemsidan, lektionen och lärarens kvalitet och hur det kändes att inte ha en lärare närvarande vid lektionstillfället. Forskningen kan kallas för aktionsforskning eftersom jag har varit både lärare och forskare. Studien visar att kontakten mellan lärare och elev är viktig för elevens utveckling och motivation. Vid kontakten med lärare kan eleven fråga om saker de inte förstår, få feedback och bli inspirerad av läraren. Dessa gitarrhemsidor kan istället ses som komplement till traditionella gitarrlektioner.Title: Virtual musical learning ? How a guitar lesson on Internet works. The aim of this study has been to investigate how a guitar lesson on the Internet works and how it is experienced by a student. This study has been conducted by me and two of my students by means of exploring two different guitar web sites from which we have attended classes. We have attended different kinds of classes in which the material has been displayed through video and sound, with or without tablature. Following this, my students were interviewed about things such as how they found the web-site in general, the quality of the lesson and the tutor and what they thoght of not having a tutor present during class. The conduct of the research has been action research based in which I have been both a tutor and a researcher. The most vital finding in this thesis is that the connection between the tutor and the student is important for the development and motivation of the student. During a real, non-virtual class, the student can ask for direct instructions, receive feedback and get inspiration from the tutor. These guitar web sites can instead be seen as a complement to a traditional guitar lesson.
