Uppslaget till det här examensarbetet fick jag av Miljö- och byggkontoret i Nässjö efter att ha gjort praktik på kontoret under två somrar. Den senaste cykelplanen är från 1973 och sedan dess har en hel del ändrats i Nässjö. Cykelvägarna som kommit till de senaste åren har inte följt cykelplanen från 1973, utan har byggts ut efterhand som gatorna restaurerats eller byggts om för andra trafikproblem. Nässjö är en till ytan medelstor stad med 16 000 invånare. Järnvägens utbyggnad i Sverige under andra halvan av 1800-talet var anledningen till att staden byggdes.

This thesis focus on the presentation of the filmic room the viewer sees in George A. Romero´s three horror classics Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead. The hypothesis goes as follow; fear and element of tension becomes greater if the audience/viewer has a good knowledge about the filmic room in the film, in other words, a good spatial awareness. The conclusion is that it does. The environment is active in its becoming and in its presentation to the viewer.

Dagens städer lever upp till kravet på hållbarhet i långt ifrån alla sina delar. Städernas moderna tillskott präglas ofta av monotoni och lider av bristande service och otrygghet. Infartslederna skär långt in i städerna och splittrar upp staden i isolerade delar. Varför är det så och hur kan det göras annorlunda? Detta examensarbete syftar till att visa att urbana miljöer kan skapas även utanför stadens centrala delar.

Vindkraftsetableringar i Sverige har tidigare endast varit aktuella vid kusten. Stormarna Gudrun och Per visade att det även finns god vindpotential i inlandet. Vindkarteringar över inlandet saknades och därför gjordes en kartering över hela Sverige. Denna visade att det blåser ordentligt på högre höjder även i inlandet. Tack vare ny teknik kan denna vind utnyttjas och därför kan områden som tidigare inte varit aktuella för vindbruk komma ifråga.

Value stream mapping is a tool that is frequently used by many different companies. It is a great tool used to achieve the work that follows the theories of lean production. The tool is used, however, only frequent on the factory floor and the method is also designed based on this type of use.An interest of applying the method on administrative parts of the company has occurred lately. Administrative parts of the company refers to the part that does all the planning such as purchasing, receiving orders, customer contact, contact with factory floor and other work that is made around the actual manufacturing. But the knowledge about applying value stream mapping on the planning part of the company is lacking because the method is relatively new.In this work, a comparison is made between the introduction of value stream analysis on production and planning.

Crisis management planning is a relatively new policy area in the European countries. It has materialized since the fall of the iron curtain and because of the increased interest to prevent wide-ranging national emergencies. In Sweden, the county administrative board has a key obligation to perform risk analysis guidelines. This assessment involves identifying crisis, planning response to the crisis and, if necessary, confronting and resolving the crisis in the geographic area of the region. The purpose of my thesis is to examine if there are any differences in crisis management planning between the county administrative boards? risk analysis guidelines.

The purpouse of this study is to find out how and if a Content Managment System (CMS) can benefit from applied User Experience Design (UX). A work project has been executed where a client wanted the students to create a user friendly CMS for adding content to a global hotel review site. A prototype of a CMS was created based on literature studies about UX and CMS. The prototype of the user friendly CMS was then tested through user tests and interviews with key users. After input from the key users the prototype was changed until the users were satisfied with it..

Typically, when Faurecia in Torsås are planning a new assembly line, one of the steps is to build a full-scale model of the line in card board, a form of mock-up planning. Faurecia has shown interest in finding an alternative methodology. The purpose was to explore the possibility of replacing today's cardboard based mock-up planning with models in a digital simulation environment.The purpose of the thesis has been to answer some of these complex questions; What are the benefits of using a simulation tool? In what way can we use it? If we choose to use a simulation tool, in what way does it affect our way of planning an assembly line? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Are there any economical and social aspects?Our results made us realize that a digital simulation tool does not replace the card board. On the other hand simulation could be used as a complement.

The purpose of this essay is to find out how gender upholds in a classroom, both by students as well as the teacher. The procedure has been to observe the relationship between students and also the teachers. The observations is analysed according to theories of gender and a discussion about why gender is maintained follows. The conclusion of the result is that gender is being preserved in different ways, but also the contrary ? students and the teacher oppose it.

Sammanfattning: Över hälften av alla svenska kommuner hade en total stagnation under åren 1999-2009, det är främst bruksorter och landsbygden som stagnerar. I östra Tyskland stagnerade över hälften av städerna med mer än -3 % under åren 1990-2005. De gamla industristäderna i USA har under lång tid haft stora problem med förortsurbanisering. Därför har jag valt i detta kandidatarbete att studera varför städer i dess länder stagnerar, hur de ser på stagnationen och vad de gör åt den. I USA började städer som Detroit och Youngstown stagnera i samband med att industrier lades ner och en förortsurbanisering spred sig i landet.

Under 1960-talet rådde en stor bostadsbrist i Sverige. För att lösa problemet fattade riksdagen 1964 ett beslut om att en miljon nya bostäder skulle byggas under en tioårsperiod fram till 1975. Detta kallades för ?miljonprogrammet?. Redan innan miljonprogrammet var färdigutbyggt uppkom en stark kritik av de nya bostadsområdena.

The phenomenology of Gaston Bachelard holds that readers, or viewers, relate to spatial imagery through the use of age-old archetypes. These archetypes form a collective image-memory that is employed when reading space. One such image is the house. The house for Bachelard is, however, never solely an image, but constitutes a familiar space that becomes inscribed in our bodies through the repeated physical contact with this domestic space. The house teaches us to interact with space, and comes to inform the way that human beings understand images of space.

Idag är hemmet mycket mer än bara en plats att bo på. Det är också en plats där vi kan visa upp vilka vi är eller vill vara. Där kan vi skapa det som för oss upplevs som individuellt. Det finns en rad tv-program och tidningar som understryker detta. Bostadens olika attribut kan även en skapa samhörighet mellan likasinnade.

This project concerns a new lower and mid level compulsory school in the currently developing area of Annedal, northwest of central Stockholm. According to the given program, the school should hold 500 pupils and 100 pre-school children. As an addition to the given program, my suggustion holds a sports hall and a public library.In my project, my ambition has been to investigate how to create an inspiring and exiting place for kids to inhabit and, at the same time, create an activated, central place in a developing suburb. The latter has resulted in the two program-related additions, which purposes is to extend the hours during which the area is activated and to create additional incitements for visiting the building. Both additions are chosen based on lack of service in the area. Architectually, I've been inspired by the medieval castle which has been used as an inspirational resource for the parts of the school holding classrooms.

This major project in Building Engineering has its focus on inquiring into what methods has been used in the planning process of the residential buildingLjusbojen 1. This project has been conducted in cooperation with Kadesjös Ingenjörsbyrå AB, an engineering contractor firm which also acts as the property developer. Initially several different general methods for planning residential buildings have been presented. After the methods from the process of building Ljusbojen 1 has been analyzed compared to the general methods presented in part 1. This shows what the determining factors are during the planning process; factors such as cost, quality, time management, know-how and environmental issues.
