The main topic of this thesis is to evaluate the impact on the usability of web pages when using responsive web design, a concept for developing web pages whose design adapts to the screen size being used. This is done by creating a responsive prototype based on an existing web site. A number of usability tests are conducted on the two versions of the site in order to compare the time to complete the tests and to observe the behaviour of the test participants. The tests are conducted on desktop as well as on mobile devices with varying screen size.The number of test participants was relatively low, and so the quantitative result is not statistically valid. However, the conclusion is that the most effective combination is to use either of the sites on desktop format.

This project investigated the current market regarding wireless net and the communication between the tools used for diagnostics/maintenance and an embedded system. Based on documentation obtained through interviews a demo system was created based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication between an embedded system and an Android device.This report intends to describe the tools and methods used in the design of the demo system and the result of an analysis of the BLE communication.Bluetooth Low Energy is an exciting protocol with wide applicability within the industrial field. This project investigated the communicational possibilities between a Smartphone and a Raspberry Pi and based on the results that emerged the conclusion can be drawn that BLE is a protocol with many beneficial applications within industrial IT..

No other object is in our constant possession such as the mobile phone. The Smartphone has been transformed into a worldwide forum for information-rich exchanges between individuals and companies, by which this rapid access to the Smartphone has created and continues to create opportunities in terms of communication. Many researchers of today undertake the challenge of studying the Smartphone's role as a marketing channel, and the role of the channel is now undoubtedly central in marketing. However, as the importance of marketing communication increases and despite the fact that survey methods are exceedingly dependent on a channel to fulfill its purpose, namely carry out questionnaires, there has been surprisingly little attention to the study of the channel's role and importance when carrying out surveys. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate whether the choice of a communication channel affects the survey outcome and, if so, further investigate how survey methods differ in terms of consumers' attitude and also their perception of their privacy.

I och med det faktum att Sveriges regering har skapat en myndighet fo?r att fo?lja medieutvecklingen med syftet att sta?rka unga inom just detta omra?de, sa? ansa?g vi att det var intressant att underso?ka hur ungdomar sja?lva upplever sitt anva?ndande av Smartphone. SYFTE & FRA?GESTA?LLNINGAR: Syftet med studien var att underso?ka om dagens informationssamha?lle, i och med det o?kade anva?ndandet av Smartphones, kan vara gynnande fo?r individens ka?nsla av egenmakt och delaktighet.

Purpose: The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether and how nine teachers of special education for older students, primarily at Upper secondary school, consider the Smartphone an appropriate pedagogical means of assistance to improve participation and to support students with special education needs within and outside the school environment. Theory: The theoretical framework for the study is the sociocultural perspective on learning. The sociocultural perspective is related to the relational perspective and sociocultural learning theory involves learning and participation in school. It views the human being as socially active within a certain historical and cultural context which actively influences the way we act, how we learn and develop through interaction with others in the social, everyday practice. The latter is of vital importance here.

För att elever i skolan ska kunna inhämta kunskaper behöver de ha fungerande verktyg. Att läsa och skriva är viktiga redskap för detta ändamål. Elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter kan behöva använda sig av alternativa verktyg för att lyckas med sin kunskapsinhämtning. Det här arbetet var en del i ett större projekt på Linnéuniversitet. Syftet med studien var att bidra med förståelse för om ett multifunktionellt tekniskt verktyg, i detta fall Smartphone, fungerar som ett alternativt verktyg som kan öka möjligheterna till en likvärdig utbildning för elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter i grundskolan.

Idag äger den större delen av befolkningen i Sverige en Smartphone, som är en blandning av telefoner och datorer. Med en Smartphone är det enkelt att vara ständigt uppkopplad och på så sätt hålla kontakt med människor. Det leder till att vi lever i ett samhälle där vi sällan missar någonting.I den här undersökningen har vi med hjälp av fokusgrupper och observationer tagit del av hur studenters mobilbeteende ser ut. Det insamlade materialet har därefter analyserats för att kunna kartlägga resultatet och på så sätt få ett svar i frågan om hur dagens mobilbeteende bland studenter ser ut. Tre fokusgrupper och tio timmars observation har genomförts.

Physical inactivity is the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality. To prevent and change this the society need to develop good approaches and interventions to promote physical activity. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate which experience existing users have of Smartphone training applications. Also to study if this can be a possible resource for health promotion. Six active users applied to participation after they had seen an ad in social media.

This master thesis has been carried out as a prototype development project. The project hasbeen performed in cooperation with ÅF Combra AB. The purpose with the master thesis is toconstruct a Bluetooth interface between an accelerometer and a Smartphone and constructinga physical prototype containing an accelerometer. You may want to access different information, depending on your profession.

Nu förtiden har det blivit allt vanligare att människor använder sig av Smartphones. I denna uppsats har jag kartlagt Smartphone-användares användningsvanor och mönster hos unga vuxna som antingen studerar eller arbetar. Fo?r att få fram den information jag behöver har jag valt att använda mig av dagböcker där sex stycken respondenter deltog under en fyra dagars period och även intervjuer da?r tre av de sex respondenterna var deltagande efter genomförandet av dagböckerna. Mina resultat visar fascinerande nog att Smartphones används till största del på platser där anva?ndarna a?r relativt stillasittande som till exempel i hemmet.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka om trovärdighet och förväntningar på behandling, deltagarens Smartphoneanvändning, aktivitet i behandlingen, samtidig ångestdiagnos, initial symtomnivå på depression samt demografiska egenskaper kan predicera behandlingsutfallet i en depressionsbehandling via Smartphone med internetstöd utifrån beteendeaktivering och mindfulness. 81 deltagare randomiserades till antingen beteendeaktiverings- (n=40) eller mindfulnessbetingelsen (n=41). Huvudutfallsmåttet var förändring i BDI-II mellan för- och eftermätning mätt med residual gain scores. Korrelationsanalyser genomfördes för att undersöka samband mellan prediktorer och utfallsmåttet. För att analysera skillnader mellan grupper gjordes regressionsanalys på interaktionseffekten mellan prediktor x grupp, samt envägs-ANOVA.

In my paper I adress the question of what happens in the relationship between the beholder, the artwork and the artist when they meet in the era of Web 2.0. The new Smartphone based medium that I write about is Instagram. The artist i write about is the Swedish illustrator Jesper Waldersten. My purpose with this paper was to explore how the the beholder, pictures and artist relate to one another i relation to Instagram and how the interface of the Smartphone and the app affect the beholder in these relationships. I also seek out to understand the difference between how Instagrams interface affect the beholder in comparison to the interface of the artists web page and his book.
