- Utveckling av Blåtands ansluten accelerometermodul till smartphone

This master thesis has been carried out as a prototype development project. The project hasbeen performed in cooperation with ÅF Combra AB. The purpose with the master thesis is toconstruct a Bluetooth interface between an accelerometer and a smartphone and constructinga physical prototype containing an accelerometer. This is done to test a new user interface tomobile phones. The master thesis has also included a research about the possibility toimplement distance measuring with Bluetooth. Combra has in the past worked with bothBluetooth and smartphones, but never in the same application.One part of the master thesis was to construct a working physical prototype. This resulted inthat the master thesis has a predominantly practical characteristic. Special focus has beenplaced on the construction phase. The logic has been programmed on both sides of theBluetooth interface. This means in both the accelerometer module and in the smartphone.The prototype is built around a microprocessor and has apart from the accelerometer and theBluetooth link, two push buttons and two light diodes. The majority of the signal managementis located in the phone. The system is constructed in that way to simplify furtherdevelopments later on. Focus was placed on getting the accelerometer module as energyefficient as possible.The conclusion of the project is that it is possible to construct a lot of different applicationsand user interfaces to the developed system. Application software is only needed to be addedto the phone in further developments. Distance measuring with Bluetooth is possible but acompromise between accuracy, energy efficiency and stability has to be made.
