According to statistics, requirements management is identified as a major source of error to failed IT-projects. Moreover communication is identified as a factor affecting the require-ments management and can lead to deficiencies in the requirements. The requirements analyst is responsible for managing the requirements from the different stakeholders, act as a com-munication accommodator and to translate abstract requirements expressed by users to more specific requirements that developers can implement. The purpose of this thesis is to study the role of the requirements analyst to investigate the problems that may arise in working with requirements management.  To achieve the purpose we have performed a requirements management process in which we ourselves took the role as the requirements analysts. The requirements management process consisted of three phases: gather requirements, document requirements and validate require-ments.

The purpose of this report is to study the relationship between the rescue service fire prevention activities and the number of arson fires in schools. An objective of the project is also to investi-gate the need of developing national methods for fire prevention. The results are based on a questionnaire study among 35 fire departments and further interviews with five of them. The results indicate that there is a relationship between the rescue service fire prevention activities and the number of arson fires in schools. The relationship is positive in the sense that arson fires in schools decrease with increasing prevention activities.

The aim of this study is to examine and analyze how management control mechanisms evolve within an organization when a requirement of return on equity is imposed, as well as why the mechanisms evolve the way they do. A case study was performed on Samhall, a Swedish state-owned company, which has the aim to help people with disabilities develop by providing meaningful work. The framework provided by Samuelsson, defining five means of control in organizations was used to structure the study. Further, theories within New Public Management have been used to provide the reader with a proper background to the research area. Theories from the institutional field of organizational research have also been used to provide further depth to our analysis.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om det finns ett samband mellan företagets skuldsättningsgrad och förändring i räntabiliteten på totalt kapital. Syftet är också att undersöka vilket mått av förändring som bäst kan förklara förändringar i den finansiella risken. Teorin hämtas från professor Sven-Erik Johansson som i boken Företagets lönsamhet, finansiering och tillväxt, framför tesen om att företag bör justera sin skuldsättningsgrad efter sin affärsrisk. Affärsrisken härleds från hävstångsformeln och betecknas således som ∆Rt. För att testa denna teori har författarna gjort en omfattande datainsamling av samtliga A-listenoterade företags resultat- och balansräkningar under åren 1980-2002.

Idag har de flesta företag och organisationer någon form för intranät-lösning. Dessa lösningar kan vara både mer och mindre sofistikerade, men har oftast det samma syfte; att distribuera organisationens information till dess medlemmar.Denna uppsats ägnar sig åt intranät och fördjupar sig i ett begrepp som vuxit starkt de senaste åren, nämligen Content Management System (CMS). Jag fokuserar särskilt på val av Open Source CMS, för implementation i mindre organisationers intranät.Uppsatsen är ett resultat av omfattande litteraturstudier inom sitt område och bygger främst på vetenskapliga artiklar av ledande experter. Ytterligare en källa är resultatet av en enkätundersökning, som också redovisas i uppsatsen. Internationaliseringen har ökat under de senaste åren, och företag väljer att lägga delar av verksamheten utomlands. Tidigare forskning undersöker sambandet mellan denna diversifiering och dess konsekvenser för företagen. Gränsöverskridande diversifiering och företagsförvärv bör enligt tidigare forskning ge en lägre systematisk risk då risken sprids ut över flera marknader.Syftet med studien är att se om tidigare forsknings resultat går att tillämpa idag när svenska företag gör gränsöverskridande företagsförvärv. Vi har valt att applicera en event study-metodik för att undersöka detta samband enligt marknadsmodellen. Studien undersöker 66 svenska fall av gränsöverskridande företagsförvärv, gjorda under perioden 2005 ? 2007.Resultatet visar att tidigare empiri, att företagen skulle ha lägre systematisk risk efter ett gränsöverskridande företagsförvärv, inte går att tillämpa idag på de svenska företagen.

Denna rapport handlar om ett examensarbete utfört åt multimediaföretaget Animero. Det är ett litet företag med åtta anställda som jobbar med olika multimediaproduktioner med fokus på webb- och videoproduktion. Problemet för Animero var att det saknades en ordentlig kravspecifikation i projekten och att kunderna brukade utgå ifrån vad de själva tycker om istället för att tänka på dem som ska besöka webbplatsen. Vårt uppdrag blev att utveckla en applikation som ska ta fram underlag till en kravspecifikation vid beställning av webbplatser. Applikationen ska samla in information om kundernas målgrupp, deras företagsidentitet och de funktioner de vill ha med på webbplatsen.

In most software engineering project, users are only involved in the beginning of the project as a help to design the requirements specification but users can be involved after this phase too, but is it effective to do so? With this report we would like to investigate how effective it is to involve users after the requirements specification has been written and approved. To find out how effective it is to involve the users we try some fast and simple involvement techniques on a quite far gone project. These techniques include ethnographic studies, prototypes and surveys. We also interviewed a couple of people who work with usability and finally delivered a report with our results to them to find out if they found our result relevant.

The aim of this small thesis is to investigate if the probability of business failure is higher at the time of divestment than at the time of acquisition for portfolio companies that have been subject to private equity ownership. The background for this thesis is the widespread critique aimed at private equity firms, claiming that they increase the risk in their portfolio companies. We have performed a study of 53 buyout transactions, involving Swedish manufacturing companies, covering a time span of 13 years, from 1995 to 2007. We find evidence of an increased risk of business failure for the portfolio companies with a short forecasting horizon (within one year). The absolute increase in the sample is however small.

By using modern methods of casting concrete, cast in place can get more effective and industrialized. A modern method is self compacting concrete. The public health care sector has come under increasing pressure to cut down costs, maximize productivity and satisfy patients' needs during the 1990s and onwards. As a way of "getting more for less" quality management has been introduced. Originating in the private manufacturing industry, quality management has a strong focus on productivity and efficiency, aspects which are measured in quantitative terms. However, there are strong concerns that quality management is a means of speeding up the marketization of public health care by introducing core values much different from the ethic and medical norms that traditionally underpin health care organizations.This essay focuses on how quality management has been introduced to, and transformed by, public health care. A theoretical framework based on new institutionalism is constructed, and translation theories are used as a way of illustrating how the medical institutional environment, in fact, changes the concept of quality management.

The thesis had its starting point in the first paragraph of the eleventh chapter in the Swedish social services act, which discusses the immediate risk assessments that has to be made when the social services receive a report about a child. The thesis highlights an area that has received a lot of attention in media since the spring of 2014, when an eight year old girl was fatally abused by her legal guardians. The social services had at the time received a report about the girl but it was left unread. This tragic case has brought attention to the routines used by the social services for dealing with reports and risk assessments. This thesis was conducted through individual interviews with social workers working with children and families in the social services, with the aim to acquire an enhanced understanding of how social workers perform immediate risk assessments and what these assessments are based on.
