The aim of this thesis is to examine the fear of crime in old peoples lives. Notwithstanding that the age category is exposed to crime to a low degree, old people are experiencing a great fear of crime relative younger people. This is the paradox of fear, also recognized in gender studies. The question is how this paradox can be understood. To answer this, twelve elderly men and women have been interviewed and the reports about crime in the local newspaper, Norrköpings Tidningar, has been analyzed, through discourse analysis.The discursive construction of fear is here discussed in terms of discourses of a fearful society, and stereotypes of old age.

Inför Ärets riksdagsval sÄ förekommer det en debatt dÀr Sveriges tvÄ största politiska partier anklagas för att ha övergivit sina ideologiska vÀrdegrund. Den rÄdande perceptionen Àr att detta har ledat till att de tvÄ partierna, Socialdemokraterna och Moderaterna, befinner sig nÀrmare varandra Àn tidigare. Undersökningens syfte Àr att klargöra huruvida denna perceptions stÀmmer eller ej. Detta görs genom en idéanalys av de tvÄ partiernas idépolitik dÀr partiprogram utgör material. Materialet ska klassificeras utefter olika idealtyper för att pÄ sÄ sÀtt kunna placera in partiernas idépolitiska position.

Background: The meeting industry has had undergone a extensive changes due to a number of factors. The globalization has meant that supply increases and congress organizers have more options to choose from. Development in communications, for instance internet, means that meetings can take place without a physical presence. Congress organizers as clients have also changes. Stockholm as position as a leading city to hold congresses in has also changed for the worse, in 2006 Stockholm dropped of the top-10 list.

Background: A majority of strategic alliances do not create value for the participants. One of the main reasons for the high failure rate is an inadequate process for partner selection. If the correct partner is not selected, it can have serious effects on the management of the partnership. This is a serious problem since failed alliances usually are very expensive for the involved companies. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate which theoretical factors are important when selecting a partner for a strategic alliance.

Previous research has indicated that intellectual disabilities and parenting is not socially accepted and compulsory care of children often occurs in families where one or both parents have an intellectual disability. This study aims to, thru a document analysis, investigate ideas and representations of parents with intellectual disabilities that emerge in Swedish legal cases. The legal cases is about children who are taken care of according to LVU § 2, where one or both parents have a intellectual disability. The results of the study revealed that people with intellectual disabilities are seen as not capable of developing parenting ability, in some cases aroused concerns about parenting during pregnancy, these suggesting stereotypes of parents with intellectual disabilities. Of the documents reveals that social workers word overrides in the decision-making, this leads to a position of power where the parents are at a disadvantage..

This essay tries to show how The Swedish Museum of Architecture, Stockholm, with the exibition Architecture in Sweden - Function, Design and Aesthetic through the Ages, presents and represents architecture. It is stated that this is done in a multi-perspectival, multimedial fashion, with the aid of, for example, photography, models and mixed material surrounding the wide concept of ?architecture?. One chapter discusses the relationships between the exhibition on site, the exhibition catalog and the museumÂŽs website. Another chapter argues that there can be no essential or perfect representation of architecture, although this utopian wish most certainly exists even today.

Den hÀr rapporten beskriver hur man med hjÀlp av olika tekniska hjÀlpmedel monterade pÄ en cykel kan mÀta och senare analysera olika trafiksituationer. Syftet har varit att försöka fÄ klarhet i hur en instrumenterad cykel fungerar, vilken utrustning som behövs, hur den ska anvÀndas och vilket resultat man kan förvÀnta sig att fÄ ut frÄn mÀtningar med en sÄdan cykel. Tanken Àr att cykeln ska kunna anvÀndas bÄde för att studera cykelvÀgarnas fysiska utformning och trafikanters beteende varför den utrustas med tvÄ stycken videokameror, en riktad framÄt med syfte att filma det som cyklisten ser och en riktad bakÄt med uppgift att filma de trafikanter som rör sig bakom cyklisten. För att lagra information om cykelns position och hastighet tillsammans med uppgifter om exakt nÀr man befann sig pÄ den platsen anvÀndes en GPS-mottagare framtagen för fÀrdloggning, Exylog. För att enkelt kunna tolka insamlade data frÄn GPS och videokameror behöver dessa sammanstÀllas och redovisas pÄ ett enkelt och tydligt sÀtt.

Med utgÄngspunkt i rollteorins begrepp position och roll undersöks i uppsatsen hur individen intar enposition och pÄ sÄ sÀtt kan spela den roll som tillhör positionen. Att mÀnniskor spelar roller i olikasammanhang Àr inget nytt, men frÄgan Àr hur de gÄr tillvÀga. I uppsatsen intervjuas tre skÄdespelare som samtliga Àr fast anstÀllda pÄ en medelstor institutionsteater i Sverige. Intervjuerna fokuserarfrÀmst pÄ repetitionsperioden och hur samspelet mellan person och roll fungerar i skÄdespelarensarbete med en pjÀs. Dessa intervjuer analyseras sedan med utgÄngspunkt i rollteorin och med hjÀlpav ytterligare teorier, frÀmst socialpsykologiska.

Jag har under projektets gÄng identifierat ett antal vÀrdeord frÄn anvÀndare och en position pÄ marknaden som har resulterat i en utombordsmotor med en tydlig miljlöprofil.AnvÀndaren och mÄlgruppen för denna utombordsmotor har ett aktivt bÄtliv som krÀverstor flexibilitet av motorn.Konceptutvecklingen och dÄ frÀmst tekniska detaljer har arbetats fram i samarbete med sakkunniga inom förbrÀnningsteknik pÄ KTH. Resultatet Àr en hybridmotor som gÄr pÄ el-drift i lÄga hastigheter och förbrÀnningsmotor i högre hastigheter.Stor fokus har lagts pÄ gestaltningen i en process som har innefattat bÄde tvÄdimensionellt skissarbete och tredimensionellt modellarbete. Formen strÀvar efter att uttrycka ett hybridkoncept innehÄllande tvÄ motorer.

Aim: The aim with this study was to elucidate the mealorder and the mealsituation for the elder and how the nurse handles this. Method: This litterateur review was based on teri research studies.

The recent decades have been characterised by a trend where the public sector's been inspired by several methods and strategies from the private sector. The public library is in this case no exception. In this context there are different perspectives on whether or not this will lead to a dramatic change of the role and values of the traditional public library. The aim of this master's thesis is to make a contribution to a deeper understanding of the ideological conflicts within the Swedish public library and its relation to the market. In the literature of library and information science I have identified two separate discourses representing two contradictory systems of meaning concerning this relation.

Syftet med det hÀr arbetet var att kartlÀgga rekryteringsprocessen i svenska rederier och bemanningsbolag av maskinbefÀl. För att ta reda pÄ detta skickades det ut ett antal enkÀter till personalrekryterarna i respektive rederi/bemanningsbolag. Studien Àr en kvantitativ undersökning för att fÄ in ett sÄ stort underlag som möjligt och dÀrefter kunna fÄ fram ett trovÀrdigt resultat. Resultatet blev att rekryteringsprocessen har pÄverkats av utflaggningen av fartygen och dÄ framför allt för juniorbefÀlen. Det som personalrekryterarna ansÄg som mest betydelsefullt vid nyrekrytering av maskinbefÀl Àr rekommendationer frÄn redan anstÀllda i rederiet/bemanningsbolaget och fullstÀndig sjöingenjörsexamen.

Banverket Trafik has a responsibility to make sure that the companies who traffic the Swedish railroad have the correct information about the status of the railroad. One of Banverket Trafiks information systems (Opera) presents the train?s actual position on a map and provides the user with physical information about the trains. Due to increasing demands on the information systems, Banverket Trafik needs to update the present system architecture in order to manage the increasing demands on map graphics and map functions. This paper analysis the information system Opera on the basis of theory and support of methods and discuss problems and demands for Opera.

Background: Nursing staff use touch on a daily basis, often without reflecting over it. It is not only the touch itself that emerges, everyday nursing staff get involved in the meeting with patients. The use of touch can be divided in to different kinds of touch, due to its purpose these are instrumental- and expressive touch. Purpose: The purpose with the study was to illustrate what physical touch means for the meeting between patient and caregiver. Method: A literature review has been done, based on ten scientific articles and by these four domains emerged.
