Every second woman in Sweden suffers in their lifetime of fracture that is related to osteoporosis. Osteoporosis and fractures affect the person´s everyday life. The aim of the study was to describe experiences of feeling well among women with osteoporosis. Six women were interviewed with semi- structured interviews. The interviews were transcribed and the text was analyzed with thematic content analysis.

Relationship marketing is an important part of the new view of communication strategies. The theories around this subject has a general and global perspective on how to manage relations and communication problems. But somehow the local perspective is forgotten. In this thesis we have focused on the local market and which demands it has on the work with relationship management. The purpose of this thesis is to find out how relationship marketing can contribute to create a high valued brand on a local market.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the usability of the Umeå University library catalogue Album. The aim is to evaluate the catalogue in order to establish if there are any problems that could be solved by modifying the catalogue. The following questions are answered: How should a good catalogue be designed? Which problems are common when using a library catalogue? Is Album user friendly? Are there any problems that occur when using Album and how can the catalogue be changed to avoid the problems? To answer these questions I have performed a usability test in which five Persons, all students, got to carry out twenty tasks in the catalogue and talk about what they were doing and thinking while doing the test. This method is a usability method called Think Aloud.

Den här studien handlar hur språket påverkar en Persons identitet och handlingsutrymme. Det är en kvalitativ studie baserad på fyra intervjuer. Samtliga intervjupersoner är latinamerikanska män, bosatta i Sverige. Två av dem pratar flytande svenska medan de andra två håller på att lära sig. Syftet är att beskriva dessa personers egna erfarenheter av hur deras nya språk, svenskan, har påverkat deras syn på dem själva och deras möjligheter att agera i samhället.

The aim of this study is to better understand the Swedish concept of ?förebyggande socialt arbete?, preventive social work. I have conducted eleven qualitative interviews with different key Persons and skaters, together with participant observation. During the process of analyzing the material I have used Randall Collins´ concepts of interaction ritual chains together with Jean Laves and Etienne Wengers concept of situated learning. The answers could be split up in three areas, first those who regard prevention work as building good things for the future.

Hur personer tänker, tolkar och förstår situationer påverkar hur lyckliga de är. Syftet med uppsatsen är att utifrån ett socialkonstruktivistiskt perspektiv undersöka hur individer konstruerar lycka. Detta har gjorts genom att undersöka hur individer konstruerar  positiva definitioner av situationer och hur negativa definitioner kan göras om till mer positiva. Uppsatsens empiri utgörs av filmen Love actually, som det har utförts en kvalitativ analys av. Social interaktion visade sig genomgående vara centralt för hur individer konstruerade sina definitioner av situationer ? positiva så väl som negativa.

Abstract:Perennials in public areas have during the latest decades been more and more popular. This group of plants has become a more accepted komponent when creating pleasant public places, and people begin to see the functional aspects. Perennials do also give a colour- and senceexperience in a more detailed way than can be achieved with only trees and shrubs. One of the ojects of this essay is to give more examples of motives for using perennials in urban areas.Having in mind the increasing use of perennials, you can expect a growing need for better understading of how to create successfull perennial plantings. In spite of the increasing interest it is hard to find any written information in this subject.

Inom psykiatri används direkt arbetsterapi som syftar till att behärska själva görandet i aktiviteten och indirekt arbetsterapi som syftar till att utveckla varandet i aktiviteten. Studiens syfte var att beskriva hur fyra personer med psykiska funktionshinder upplevde sitt deltagande i en teaterterapigrupp. I teaterterapin gestaltade de en scenisk rollkaraktär, vilket innebar att klienten gick in i en annan Persons sätt att handla, tänka och känna. Genom halvstrukturerade intervjuer framkom att informanterna upplevde att de utvecklade sina underliggande förmågor såsom koncentrationsförmåga, självförtroende och att de fått ökad livsglädje. De uppgav också att de genom att gestalta de sceniska rollkaraktärerna hade lärt känna sig själva bättre.

Choir singing is one of the most popular national movements in Sweden but the knowledge of the meaning of this activity for health and well being from the choir singers? own experiences is limited. The purpose of this study was therefore to develop useful knowledge about the meaning of choir singing for participating Persons from a health perspective. The data was collected through qualitative interviews with six different choir singers and went after that through a comprehensive analysis which resulted in four main categories: an oasis in the existence; possibilities of meetings and solidarity; goals and musical development; and physical and emotional well-being. The results showed that the choir activity represents a place where the singers can escape the demands and the stress factors of everyday life and where they get the opportunity of meaningful relations with other people.

AimThe compulsory school attendance in Sweden means that all children are obligated to go to school. This makes great demands on those who work in the school, especially the teachers. Schools are complex units. In school, teachers face all kinds of ethical dilemmas on a daily basis. The aim of the study is to enlighten how different teachers would act differently, if they were facing the same dilemma in the PE-lessons and why this knowledge is important to our profession.MethodThe data was collected through interviews to make a qualitative research.

Bra utformning av vårdmiljö stimulerar god omvårdnad. Inom hospicefilosofin har detta tillämpats praktisk genom att försöka skapa optimal vårdmiljö för personer i livets slutskede. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelse av omvårdnad i hospicemiljö. Studien baserades på internationella vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserades med manifest kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: att vara i avslutande relationer är utmattande och kräver strategier, att vara en del av den stöttande miljön, att som personal dela mål och värdegrund och att en hemlik miljö erbjuder kommunikation och relationer med humor och andlighet.

Att finna korrelat till våld har länge rönt stort intresse inom den forensiska psykologin, inte minst med ambitionen att kunna predicera en Persons framtida våldsamhet. I denna studie undersöks hur tretton variabler inom de fyra kategorierna substansbruk, impulsivitet, anknytning och upplevt socialt nät korrelerar med tidigare registrerad våldskriminalitet hos två grupper: personer inom kriminalvårdens frivård respektive rättspsykiatrins öppenvård. Signifikanta korrelationer återfanns mellan den tidigare våldsbrottsligheten och två av variablerna inom anknytning, en av variablerna inom impulsivitet och en av variablerna inom socialt nät. Inga signifikanta korrelationer återfanns mellan våldskriminalitet och substansbruk. De båda grupperna skilde sig åt i fråga om hur korrelationerna fördelade sig, såtillvida att för frivårdens klienter korrelerade enbart en av variablerna i kategorin socialt nät med våldskriminaliteten.

Vegetation is a much appreciated element in our outdoor environment that has many advantages as well for the climate as for people?s health. However in some types of environments vegetation may be problematic. Especially in urban areas with limited space, solid surfaces, pollutions, and warm and dry climate. In these environments vegetations may have difficulty surviving and moreover it may have a negative impact on the environment around it.

The purpose of our research was to explore the social situation of unaccompanied children. We also aimed to reveal the relation between their social situation and their identity development. The overall purpose were to describe their social situation, the value of significant others, how different languages influence their identity development and finally how their origin affects their future dreams.In order to achieve the best result in our research a qualitative method was used. This was based on qualitative interviews and was disposed around a very loose set of questions in order to let the interviewees lead the way. The analysis of the result was conducted on the basis of a set of theories and concepts in order to understand the identity development.

Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the situation for independent hotels. With a thorough case study of ?The Grand Hotel in Lund? ,our intentions is to gain knowledge about the demands a hotel must keep up with in order to be a successful independent hotel, in a market dominated by chain-constellations. Methodology: An abductive method is used as the study form the basis for hypothesis. The first part of the thesis, which describes the line of business, is based primary on secondary data.
