The case study we conducted describes market for transmission of terrestrial digital TV. The purpose of this study is to find out what hinders potential entrants from entering the market as well as to discuss possible competitive strategies for potential entrants. Our conclusion is that even though the market for transmission of terrestrial digital TV can be viewed as attractive due to its fast growth, there are barriers to entry that block companies we identified as potential entrants from entering the market. The industry experience of the current market players (Teracom and Boxer) along with their knowledge of the consumers and the fact that Teracom is a multi-business company are some of the factors to be taken into consideration. Switching costs is the most important barrier to entry for the industry.

The European Water Framework Directive (WFD; 2000/60/EC) was incorporated into the Swedish legislation in 2004 through the ordinance Förordningen om förvaltningenav kvaliteten på vattenmiljön (SFS 2004:660). The objective is that all water bodies shall reach a good status by the year 2015. In Sweden the comprehensive plans of the municipalities can play a large role in reaching these goals. A comprehensive plan deals with the long term water and land use of the municipality, which can facilitate an early consideration of water management in the planning process of the municipality. In this thesis, a case study of Kungens Kurva in Stockholm is made. The municipality of Huddinge has designated the area, which is an external shopping-center, as one of its key development areas in the future. The municipality has established a future vision for the area, which extends until 2030. The vision claims, inter alia, that Kungens Kurva along with Skärholmen will become a vibrant suburb. How well the values and aims of the vision are met in the current area situation is discussed in the case study by a number of analysis that carries out the existing structures and characters of the area.

When the city of Umeå developed their platform, they identified decision makers and investors as one of four important target groups.The aim of this study is to explore the portrayed image of the city of Umeå in two Swedish trade journals which addresses the specific target group decition makers and investors in both public and private sector. The aim is also to compare the image of Umeå in the two papers, to the ambition of the municipality, expressed in the brand platform.In order to make the observations as firmly established as possible, the method of the study is a combination of a quantitative content analysis and a qualitative text analysis. The study draws on the theories of Eli Avraham and Philip Kotler, concerning how to improve city images and how to market a specific city among others. The study shows that the city of Umeå in large extent is portrayed in accordance to the ambition which the municipality expressed in the brand platform.Umeå is displayed as an expanding city.

Övergången från grundskolan till gymnasieskolan är en stor händelse för många elever. Detställs högre och fler krav på eleverna när de börjar gymnasiet och deras förkunskaper harbetydelse för hur väl de klarar av utbildningen. I denna undersökning fick elever i årskurs ettpå det naturvetenskapliga programmet svara på frågor om de anser att de hade tillräckligakunskaper i de naturvetenskapliga ämnena från högstadiet. Undersökningen visar att de flestatycker att de hade tillräckliga kunskaper i biologi, kemi och matematik men inte i fysik.Kursplanen för fysik på gymnasiet skiljer sig från de andra kursplanerna, genom att det intestår lika tydligt att undervisningen ska bygga på elevernas kunskaper i grundskolan.Respondenterna i undersökningen fick även svara på frågor om vilket ämne som var svårt,roligt och om de läste i NO-block eller i separata ämnen på högstadiet. The aim of this study was to conduct an instrument test of the Canadian questionnaire Alberta Context Tool (ACT) version Long-Term care for Swedish conditions. ACT is designed in order to measure the context in the care environment and different behaviours related to the changes in clinical practice. In total, 159 Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) within municipality care of the elderly were included in the survey. The test included the instrument's reliability and face validity.The reliability test was implemented through calculation of Cronbach´s Alpha, and showed internal consistency for five of the scales of the ACT-instrument with Cronbach´s Alpha values ranging between 0,728 and 0,873. However, three dimensions got lower values (0,558 - 0,683).The analysis was carried out with content analysis and carried out for LPNs and RNs in separate groups.

Denna uppsats syftar till att testa The Weak Government Hypothesis. Hypotesen är att en fragmenterad regering ackumulerar större skulder än ickefragmenterade regeringar och att graden av fragmentering påverkar storleken på skulden. Hypotesen testas med paneldata över 283 svenska kommuner under perioden 1996-2004. Resultaten från den empiriska studien ger inte något enhälligt stöd åt hypotesen. Studien finner dock visst stöd för att en lokal koalitionsregering bestående av flera jämnstora partier tenderar att ha en positiv effekt på de långfristiga skuldnivåerna under valår.

Studien grundar sig i fyra forskningsfr?gor, 1) Hur iscens?tts l?randets akt i musikundervisning vid en f?rskola med musikinriktning respektive vid en utan musikinriktning? 2) Vilka l?randeobjekt konstrueras i musikundervisning vid en f?rskola med musikinriktning respektive vid en utan musikinriktning? 3) Vilka likheter och skillnader finns i konstruktioner av l?randets akt och l?randets objekt vid de tv? olika f?rskolorna? 4) Vilken betydelse anser pedagogerna att musik har f?r barns l?rande och utveckling? Studien utg?r ifr?n en kvalitativ ansats med observationer och pappersenk?ter som datainsamlingsmetod. Dokumenteringen av observationerna har gjorts med block och penna.

The purpose of this thesis is to show how a good approach can be designed, focusing on the southern approach to the Swedish town Vilhelmina. Prior to the car being part of everyday life, the approach was a road where the town showed itself from the very best side. When the amount of traffic increased, so did noise and other disturbances, and as a consequence industrial areas replaced the residential buildnings at the approaches. Today, the pendulum is turning back and in recent years the approach is regarded as a place to introduce the town. The approach is also the place where cars should slow down from the speed of the main road to the speed of the city.
