Syftet med studien ?r att unders?ka tio kommuners broschyrer och tre kampanjfilmer som handlar om utsortering av matavfall. Med hj?lp av van Leeuwens (2007) legitimeringsmodell unders?ks vilka legitimeringsstrategier kommuner anv?nder sig av f?r att f? inv?nare att sortera sitt matavfall. Resultatet visar att de vanligaste legitimeringsstrategierna ?r moralisk v?rdering och rationalisering.

An increasing number of scholarly publishers are beginning to make their journals available electronically. At the same time there is a growing amount of exclusively electronic journals freely accessible on the Internet. These are facts that librarians have to take into consideration.This master's thesis aims to describe the electronic journal and its role in Swedish academic libraries. In a review of current literature about electronic journals, the authors discuss their strengths and weaknesses, and their impact on scholars, publishers and libraries. To investigate the situation in Sweden, a questionnaire was sent out to 43 academic libraries.Questions were raised about the selection and acquisition of electronic journals, access, technology and economy.The results show that almost half of the 35 responding libraries offer electronic journals to their users.

För att ta reda på hur väl en Multi-Agent-Systems-bot kan stå sig mot andra, icke-MAS-bottar, så har vi implementerat en bot till brädspelet Arimaa. Botten är implementerad i C++ och den kan spela mot andra bottar, eller människor, genom Arimaas officiella hemsida. Syftet har varit att skapa en fullfjädrad bot som både klarar av att spela korrekt, och att spela bra. För att ta reda på om MAS är en bra designfilosofi för Arimaa så har vi utmanat ett antal av de bottar som andra människor skapat och lagt upp på hemsidan. Alla bottarna har under tiden de legat uppe blivit rankade genom tävlingar och utmaningar och flera av dessa har tävlat om stora pengar, vilket betyder att människor har lagt mycket tid på dem.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka offentliganställdas upplevelser av en gemensamt antagen värdegrund och dess betydelse för verksamhetens uppdrag och mål samt vilka faktorer som påverkade deras möjligheter att tillämpa värdegrunden i sitt arbete. En intervjustudie genomfördes med sju anställda från en polismyndighet (n=4 medarbetare, n=3 ledare). Data analyserades med induktiv tematisk analys. Resultatet visade att värdegrunden betraktades som ett politiskt dokument utan egentlig verksamhetsförankring. Medarbetarna såg inte värdegrundens praktiska betydelse för deras yrkesutövning, då de i huvudsak agerade utifrån erfarenhet och sin egen etik och moral för samhället och medborgarnas bästa.

Denna uppsats är skriven höstterminen 1997, då ett nytt läromedel började utvärderas i Linköping. Den svenska skolan har sedan en tid haft bristande natur- och teknikundervisning i de lägre årskurserna. Den Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien gav vissa av Linköpings skolor uppdraget att i lärarlag arbeta med ett nytt material, för att kunna se dess fördelar och brister. Materialet heter Science and Technology for Children (STC) och är framtaget av den amerikanska organisationen National Science Resource Center. Sedan utvärderingen av STC har läromedlet bytt namn till NTA (Natur och Teknik för Alla).

Library and information science students often ask themselves if their education will be sufficient and adapted to the work tasks they will meet with as future librarians. It is the aim of this Master thesis to investigate LIS-graduates' experiences of the transfer from academic studies into professional life. The thesis thus treats four questions: I: What problems, if any, does the LIS-graduate experience when first employed? 2: Does the recently employed librarian feel that the academically obtained knowledge is applicable in professional life? And, if so, how does it apply? 3: Does the new employee find that there are areas in which his/her academic education has been insufficient? 4: What is the general attitude towards LIS-graduates' education among colleagues and is the library staff prepared to provide the necessary instructions? The investigation is performed through interviews with eight LIS-graduates, all of whom have recently started working as public librarians. The analysis is based on the concepts of competence, qualifications, work skills, knowledge and in the processes of formal and practical learning.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to highlight in what forms and manifestations spirituality emerges in medical patients whether they consider themselves believers or not. The other aim was to analyse spiritual ideas of nursing scientists ? authors of the patients? oriented studies to come to the better understanding of the situation with spirituality in caring. Method: Descriptive meta-synthesis was chosen, in which 12 nursing studies were analyzed and compiled in a new integrity. Results: The analysis shows that caregivers must be ready to meet and confirm the spiritual dimension consisting of Faith, Meaning, Relationship and Questions without answers in the various forms and expressions they emerge in patient?s experience.

Uppsatsen berör implementeringen av mänskliga rättigheter i den svenska jurisdiktionen och i förlängningen asylprocessen och dess konsekvenser för dem den berör. Syftet med studien är att påvisa hur de mänskliga rättigheterna framstår i praktiken genom att se på hur principen om non-refoulement efterlevs.Genom en fallstudie av två svenska avvisningsfall har jag valt att göra en textanalytisk undersökning av de internationella rapporter som berör dessa handlingar. Uppsatsen bygger i sin tur på statsansvar och principen om non-refoulement, för att påvisa hur mänskliga rättigheter verkställs i praktiken.Resultatet presenteras utifrån den kritik den svenska staten fått gällande dessa båda utvisningsfall. Svaret var egentligen redan givet då den svenska staten erkänt sitt misstag men av intresse är att uppsatsen påvisar problematiken kring den process som ska utgöra implementeringen av de mänskliga rättigheterna och i förlängningen, principen om non-refoulement. Slutsatsen blir att artikel 3 i konventionen mot tortyr och annan grym, omänsklig eller förnedrande behandling eller bestraffning inte ges något direkt utrymme inom den svenska asylpolitiken, i praktiken..

The similarity between the Russian and the Indian, in a Cold War context, may be ambiguous considering the ethnic-social variables and the period in time from where the Indians relate. However, by analyzing these, as well as other, characters in the exhibition of movies, we could learn something about the ideology of the time from which the movies derive.This study examines ideology and movies in the Cold War era and concludes that the Indian, for example, may be representing the values of the common public enemy, originating from the Cold War ideology. The movies examined, regardless of influence of distinct Cold War themes or lack of such themes, carry attributes that give evidence of typical Cold War ideology. The fear of communism and common enemies connected to a Cold War context, the thought of America as the land of the free ? with the horizon in the ending of the movies as metaphoric to freedom ? and the moral rhetoric that connects to the American thought of a duty as a global savior, are all signs of the Cold War ideology.Even though the messages are somewhat clearer and more distinct in the movies with Cold War motifs, the fact that ideology is projected through other movies as well should be considered essential for the continuing study of movies as cultural artefacts..

This thesis studies two instruments within EC-law, affecting asylum issues, the Schengen Convention and the Dublin Regulation. These instruments are developed as a result of the free movement of persons in the European Union, and the development of the free internal market. The member states are afraid of losing control of who is residing within their borders, as their border controls has been removed, and these instruments are made to protect the member states now that their own means of control are gone. The thesis explains the relationship between the free movement and asylum issues and shows the connection between them. Its focus is aimed at the free movement of workers and how the European court of justice has interpreted article 39 to increase the workers ability to move within the union.

Information overload is by no means a new concept, but has come to prominence the last decade. A generally accepted definition of the phenomenon does not exist. The main question in this master thesis is how to define information overload in order to create a connotative concept for information science. This thesis reviews the nature and causes of information overload, and considers possible solutions, both individual and technical, and their relevance to the information professional. The review of the results shows that researchers seldom or never give a legible definition of what the concept information holds.

During the spring semester 2012 Robin Westlund has accomplished ?Controlled interaction for more creative meetings - Summit Flexiwall? with the individual focus on social communication based on visual interaction in future office. The project was a part of the course Degree Project for degree of Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering (MSGC12) which includes 22,5 ECTS Credits. The course is a part in the program Innovation and Design Engineering program within the Faculty of Technology and Science at Karlstad University.Assigner of the project was Moelven Eurowand AB with their head office in Örebro. The company manufactures and assembles entire room solutions for offices.

The first aim of the thesis is to analyse the problems of trust, according to game theory, in the Russian market for private pensions insurance. The second aim is to find suitable strategies to solve the problems. Problems of trust have arisen because, (i) buyers of insurance have had negative experiences when dealing with insurance companies and corruption has decreased trust for all players in the market, (ii) incomplete information makes it difficult to separate honest actors from dishonest, and (iii) dishonest insurance companies do not get punished because of corruption and weaknesses in the law. Mutual risk-sharing is a potential solution as necessary conditions already exist in the Russian society. There are groups who (i) share the same type of risks, (ii) are aware of moral hazards, and (iii) are able to control each other.

Sedan 1997 har sjukfrånvaron i Sverige fördubblats och kostnaden uppgick år 2003 till närmare 40 miljarder kronor. De demografiska förändringarna och minskade skatteintäkter i kombination med ökade offentliga utgifter är stora utmaningar för framtidens välfärdsfinansiering. Med hjälp av regressionsanalys vill vi undersöka om de kommunala skillnaderna i sjukskrivningar kan förklaras av den kommunala arbetslösheten år 2003. Vi vill även ta reda på om det finns förklaringar till varför en del kommuner har högre sjukfrånvaro än andra. Resultaten analyseras utifrån teorier om nyttomaximering och Moral Hazard.

Studien syftar till att undersöka hur det är att vara en garvare som arbetar med traditionella tekniker utifrån ett specifikt fall. Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur det är att vara yrkesverksam garvare idag och hur garvaren ser på sin kunskap och sin verksamhet. Problemformulering:Vad innebär det att vara garvare och arbeta småskaligt och med traditionell tekniker?Vilka problem och utmaningar kan en garvare som arbetar småskaligt med traditionella tekniker mötas av?Hur hanterar garvaren dessa problem och utmaningarna?Arbetet har varit en kvalitativ fallstudie med metodologisk triangulering som kombinerar olika metoder så som observation, intervju, en text och film analys för att undersöka en och samma informant. Informanten som har undersöks är en yrkesverksam garvare i Östergötland.
