Återigen har ett betänkande om en s.k. "civilkuragelag" gjorts i Sverige, och resulterat i samma slutsats som tidigare: En dylik lagstiftning skulle göra mycket liten skillnad i verkliga livet. Vad som sällan diskuteras från offentligt håll är däremot de bakomliggande faktorer som inverkar på vårt mod att stå upp för moraliska värden eller att säga ifrån vid missförhållanden trots personlig risk. I detta sammanhang är begreppet socialt kapital av särskild betydelse för att belysa påverkande faktorer. Studiens syfte var att mäta attityder kring civilkurage hos en grupp gymnasieungdomar och yrkesarbetande vuxna genom skalan personligt risktagande /mod kopplat till skalor om tillit, social ångest och samhälleligt engagemang, liksom att identifiera attityder till straffsanktionerad lagstiftning på området.

The aim of this pilotstudy was to compare the plaqueformation during four weeks in individuals using a mouthrinse containing either essential oils (Listerine Cool Mint) or CPC (Colgate Total) as a complement to their ordinary toothbrushing. Another purpose was to evaluate the individual?s experiences regarding taste and sensation in the mouth after rinsing. A semiblind, clinical pilotstudy was conducted in 20 individuals at a university in southern Sweden. According to a screening-plaqueindex the individuals were stratified into two intervention-groups of ten people, one group rinsing with essential oils and one group with CPC twice daily as a complement to their toothbrushing routine.

Postoperativ smärta är vanligt förekommande hos patienter som genomgått ortopedisk kirurgi. Intensivvårdsjuksköterskor möter dagligen dessa patienter på intensivvårdsavdelningar. Därför är det av stor vikt att intensivvårdssjuksköterskor har medvetenhet i hur patienter upplever smärta samt vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan vidtas för att lindra smärta. Genom att undersöka hur patienter upplever sin smärta beroende på kön, ålder, ASA- klassifikation samt operationstyp, samt vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder som intensivvårdssjuksköterskor utför i ett smärtlindrande syfte, kan en bättre omvårdnad bedrivas och den postoperativa smärtan kan lindras. Som metod har kvantitativ ansats med enkäter använts som grund till arbetet.

The goal of this Masters thesis is to examine how people at the production department of Arkivator Falköping AB perceive the internal organisational communication transfer and exchange of information, by means of a communication audit. The objectives are also to characterise the communication climate and the respondents satisfaction with the internal organisational communication within the organisation. The results of the study are compared with the companys information policy and with previous research in organisational communication. Answers from different demographic groups within the population are compared. The communication audit was conducted using a modified and added version of a questionnaire originally compiled by the International Communications Association.

The market for management consulting services is changing with an increased level of competition and more specialized service providers. At the same time there is a high level of companies that fail in their efforts to establish themselves on the market. This thesis sets out to give the reader an increased understanding of the complex characteristics of the market for these services, focusing more specifically on which factors that have an effect on the strategy development for companies within the industry. The thesis is also aimed at providing the reader with a deeper understanding of how developing consulting companies can tackle the specific challenges facing them. In order to meet the purpose of the thesis, we have applied relevant theories to a generic strategy model in order to develop a model that is applicable for the management consulting industry.

Genom badhuset finns tre olika steg på skalan i material och badupplevelser som går från asfalt till skog, från slutet till öppet. This essay is about democracy and how a democracy index can be used as a tool to illustratethe gap between reality and ideal. The purpose of this study can be expressed by two researchquestions: Does the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) democracy index illustrate thedistance between reality and the ideal of democracy presented by Dahl? and Can the EIU'sdemocracy index be modified by a) internal adjustments and b) using the variables includedin World Economic Forum?s (WEF) equality index?By using a combination of theories (Dahl?s theory of democracy, Rawls theory of justice andchosen theories critical to liberal democracy) as an analytical framework the following twoquestions have been answered:1) Which of the variables included in the EIU's democracy index have the potential to capturethe level of political equality?2) Which of the variables included in the WEF?s equality index have the potential to capturethe degree of political equality?By using a quantitative method the study?s third and last question has been answered:3) How strong is the rank correlation between the EIU?s democracy index and the WEF?sequality index, that is; how strong is the rank correlation coefficient (rho)?The data presented by the WEF?s equality index indicate that women are systematicallydiscriminated against as a group. From a democratic perspective the EIU may need tomeasure inequalities at a group level in order to capture the lack of political equality betweenindividuals. Hippoterapi är en behandlingsform där man som fysioterapeut använder hästen som verktyg för att träna och/eller lära in funktioner som en individ saknar. Balans, perception, kroppskännedom, koordination, sittfunktion och styrka är funktioner som hippoterapi kan främja. Cerebral pares är ett motoriskt funktionshinder till följd av en hjärnskada, där man ofta har en problematik med just dessa funktioner. Behandlingen av cerebral pares inriktar sig på de funktionsnedsättningar som skadan orsakar, varför hippoterapi kan vara en del i behandlingen. Syftet med denna studie var att göra en litteraturöversikt över användandet av hippoterapi som fysioterapeutisk behandlingsform för barn och ungdomar med cerebral pares.

Första delen av studien bestod av fokusgrupper med patienter och personal på en psykiatrisk öppenvårdsmottagning för patienter med psykossjukdom. Smärta från trycksåret är ett vanligt förekommande problem som påverkar livskvaliteten negativt.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka förekomsten av trycksår i livets slutskede samt att se om personer med smärta och trycksår är smärtskattade med VAS/NRS. Syftet var även att se om det fanns något samband mellan trycksår och smärta.Metod: Metoden som använts var en retrospektiv deskriptiv undersökning med kvantitativ ansats. Insamling av data skedde via frågor tagna ur dödsfallsenkäten.

This essay examines the role religion plays in kindergarten. Today, the Swedish kindergarten provides child care for a secular and multicultural society where religion is considered a private matter that should not influence government nor the policy documents of kindergarten and elementary school. According to a study by Jenny Berglund, there is a so-called Protestant bias present in the Swedish elementary school. Protestant bias is shaped by a ?marinade? of liberal Protestant Christianity and has an indirect influence on how other religions are described, how religion is defined and how concepts such as religion, tradition or culture are viwed.The study was also based on Ninian Smart?s dimensions of religion, whichcorrelates to Berglund?s theory on Protestant bias.
