Today Internet is clogged up and packed with homepages and information from both private persons and commercial companies. This has led to a decreased availability for a company to be noticed. The most common tool for consumers to use while searching for products online is via search engines. But because of the nature of these, not all companies can have good placements. Our research question was, "How do small online-companies attract consumers to their website"? The purpose of this thesis is to identify how a company works through online-communications and how to attract consumers to their home page.

One of the more hopeful signs in the Middle East-conflict during the 20th century was president Sadat´s visit to Jerusalem in November 1977. AbstractIT can facilitate communication among individuals and connect people across geographical distances. On the contrary, citizens of the society who do not use communication technologies to some extent might feel excluded from the information society. As elderly citizens are already in a vulnerable position for the digital divide, communication technology becomes an important tool for interacting with friends and family. The social situation of elderly, 60 years of age and older, is a topic of current interest since they are the fastest growing age group in the world today. Further, social interaction becomes more important among elderly since it has a positive effect on well- being.

Aktuell forskning visar att organisationen av ämnet svenska som andraspråk är en faktor som påverkar flerspråkiga elevers skolframgång. Studien syftar till att utröna hur organisationen av ämnet är utformad, av verksamma rektorer, på ett antal skolor samt att jämföra verksamheterna med varandra och att slutligen se om dessa verksamheter genomsyras av ett medvetet utvecklingsarbete. I undersökningen deltog totalt nio rektorer, verksamma i tre olika kommuner i Norrbotten. Den valda insamlingsmetoden var enkäter. Enkäterna var kvalitativa till karaktären.

This master thesis comprises analysis and dimensioning of a keyed joint between a generator axis and a hub with aid from the FEM-software ANSYS Workbench 13.0.The generator axis is a part of a hydroelectric power station that generates electricity with a reactions turbine, a Kaplan turbine. The existing keyway consists of one parallel key with the width 90 mm and height 45 mm. Due to a planned increase of the power of the generated power with 32 % a design study was needed to see if the keyed joint would be suitable for the extra force. Because of the fact that the axis diameter is bigger than the standards covers/recommends a the keyway had to be re-dimensioned. In an earlier assignment from Skellefteå Kraft AB to Sweco Energuide the keyway was planned to be properly dimensioned, but no final solution was approved.During this master thesis a number of different numerical tests were made.

The Swedish public procurement correspond to approximately 400 milliard Swedish crowns every year which corresponds to about a fourth of the Swedish Gross National Product. Setting proper demands in the procurement is a useful tool to drive the development towards more environmentally adapted products and provisions. The Act on Public Procurement (Lagen om offentlig upphandling, 1992:1528) gives the municipalities opportunities to consider environmental properties during the procurement. This combined literature and empirical study investigates the experiences made by the three municipalities Ludvika, Borlänge and Smedjebacken during the process of certifying their school kitchens as organic in cooperation with KRAV. The main conclusion is that without compassion and curiosity for developing a green public procurement changes can be hard to implement.

Marketing of education is a phenomenon which has been developed throughout the increasing competition within the educational sector. The focus of this paper is the marketing made by upper secondary schools (grade 10-12) in Stockholm. The competition in this area is increasing partly due to the growing number of private schools. However, this is a phenomenon seen only in larger cities with several schools available. There are over 170 upper secondary schools in Stockholm and the students freely can choose among these.

Background: Overweight and obesity has become an increasing health issue around the world, which leads to an increase of cardiovascular diseases. The reason for this is a lack of physical activity in combination with an overconsumption of unhealthy food. In the primary healthcare is the ordination of physical activity on prescription offered as a treatment, which is an important health preventive action. When clients get physical activity on prescription they are given the opportunity to receive health counseling as a way to motivate a change in an unhealthy way of living.Objectives: This study aim to examine the experience of the health counseling of individuals with overweight related problems, in combination with the prescription of physical activity.Method: Qualitative interviews were chosen as method. Nine individuals participated in the study, seven females and two males, who had been to health counseling at Friskvården in Värmland.

Detta arbete består av en tvådelad studie. Vi har dels tagit reda på huruvida lärare använder sig av Harry Potter-böckerna i engelskundervisningen på gymnasiet, dels gestaltat lärarinformanternas uppfattningar angående användandet av Harry Potter-böckerna i undervisningen. Vi har också undersökt om det är möjligt att använda sig av Harry Potter-böcker i engelskundervisningen och om det är möjligt att koppla dem till Lpf 94 (2008) och kursplaner för Engelska A, B och C (2000) på gymnasiet.     Undersökningens intervjuer genomfördes på två gymnasieskolor i mellersta Sverige och inkluderade tio informanter. I syfte att svara på undersökningens forskningsfrågor genomfördes dessutom en didaktisk läsning av tre Harry Potter-böcker.Den didaktiska läsningen visade att de tre Harry Potter-böckerna kan kopplas till både Lpf 94 (2008:59?76) och kursplanerna för kurserna Engelska A, B och C på gymnasiet.

The division of Electricity at Uppsala University runs a project called Lysekil project, they have designed a buoy that uses the waves to create electric power from a generator attached to the bottom of the sea.Uppsala University is closely connected with the company Seabased and the university makes use of their facilities in Lysekil. When they designed the buoy issues occurred, the geometric design was flawed, brackets with a short shelf life and it is generally uneconomic.A study visit was done in Lysekil on Seabased facility. With this visit the project started, which is to improve the design of the buoy and the attachment of wires leading to the generator. In this project we have chosen to use a beam system with three beams that are attached to the buoy. Then a wire attached to a plate that sits between the beams will be leading to the generator. Two proposals for construction are created, what distinguishes them are the brackets between the beams and the buoy.From these constructions, the design that is considered most optimal for our project is chosen.All parts of the buoy have been modeled and the drawings are designed in ProEngineer software.The two constructions are compared with each other, but the whole focus is on the second and final structure. The report begins with an introduction describing Lysekil project, and a task description of our project.The project aims to produce an optimal buoy that will be easy to design, materials restrictive with good durability and an economical solution.Wave power true function has been studied, mechanical and finite element analysis of beams, buoy and plate design.This has been presented in this report, where in the various chapters can read more about the processes. The construction industry has not undergone the same logistical development as the manufacturing industry; this, in combination with increased material price, leads to the fact that the construction industry must be improved. This master thesis is a part of the research cooperation Brains & Bricks goal of reducing production costs for the construction sector by 25 percent. Brains & Bricks is a cooperation between Linköping University, Peab and Katrineholms municipality. The master thesis aims to identify improvements in the flow of material, the Supply chain operation reference, SCOR, model has been used and the work has been carried out on one of Peab?s construction sites. At present the business is characterized by bad communication both between the construction site and the office as well as between the construction site and suppliers.

The Egyptians saw death as a physical dismemberment of the body as had happened in the myth of Osiris when death was first introduced to the world. Osiris functioned as a prototype for all men as he had overcome death by finding a new existence in the netherworld.

Omfattande ekonomistyrning tillämpas i första hand utav stora företag och dessutom ärformella styrverktyg konstruerade för tillämpning i stora företag. Ett företagsekonomistyrning är betydelsefull då flera företag möter hård konkurrens och finanskriser.Därmed är det intressant att studera små och medelstora företags ekonomistyrning, eftersomekonomistyrningen likväl kan vara till fördel för små och medelstora företag. Uppsatsenssyfte är att beskriva ekonomistyrningen hos små respektive medelstora företag samt attanalysera skillnader mellan små och medelstora företags tillämpning utav formellastyrverktyg. Uppsatsen följer en kvalitativ forskningsmetod då avsikten är att skapa endjupare förståelse för formella styrverktyg i små och medelstora företag. Uppsatsen ärgenomförd med ett hermeneutiskt förhållningssätt i avsikt för att se helheten iforskningsproblemet.
