Byggbranschen är, jämför med andra branscher konservativ. Förändringar, förbättringar och effektivisering sker men inte i den utsträckning och takt det borde. Under mitten av 1980-talet utvecklades en ny samarbetsform i USA och Storbritannien, som kom att kallas för Partnering.Vårt huvudsyfte med denna rapport är att se hur tillämpning av samarbetsformen partnering är inom småhusprojekt. Partnering är ett begrepp som används där man har gemensamma mål, öppenhet med öppna böcker och stor tillit för byggherrens bästa. Att försöka definiera partnering i Sverige har inte varit angeläget eftersom stora variationer i arbetssätt gjorts till respektive projekt.

This study examines the use of building modeling and energy simulations in the design process  of  a  building.  The  take-off  point  is  the  notion  of  energy  simulations  being needed early and throughout the building design process, and that the lack of energy simulations may be explained by the fact that they are time consuming and therefore often too expensive. A greater interoperability between software tools used by relevant disciplines,  such  as  the  architect  and  the  energy  specialist,  would  create  smoother workflows, which would reduce this cost and open up for more frequent and iterative energy  simulation  processes.  The  study  is  an  assessment  of  the  modeling  tool  Revit and  the  simulation  tool  Virtual  Environment  and  whether  they  can  create  smoother workflows, and make leeway for a more frequent use of energy simulations throughout the  design  process.  It  also  investigates  the  limitations  of  what  can  be  examined  by simulations in Virtual Environment. This will hopefully help clarify the future role of energy  simulations  in  design  processes.  The  method  is  a  trial  by  error  approach  of testing the two software tools by building and simulating a model. The results of these tests  show  that  the  workflow  is  not  optimal  (and  therefore  time  consuming)  for frequent  and  iterative simulations  throughout the  design  process,  but  it  also  reveals some  great  possibilities  of  what  can  be  performed  with  these  two  powerful  tools  at hand.  Further  development  with  regards  on  platform  independency  of  the  building information  model,  including  seamless  exporting  and  importing,  seems  necessary  to strengthen the future role of energy simulations..

This thesis aims to analyse a time series containing the annual accumulation rate of minerogenic matter in the lake Kassjo?n. First there is a theoretical survey of some frequently used tools for the analysis of time series in the time domain and in the frequency domain. This survey is followed by a simulation study that illustrates how the theoretical tools work in practice. After this, the time series "toolbox" is used to analyse the time series from Kassjo?n (5701 data points).

Lean produktion är en filosofi vars förenklade syfte är att producera mer produkter och samtidigt använda färre resurser genom att eliminera slöseri i systemet. I grunden är det företag som ägnar sig åt stycktillverkningen som anammat tekniker inom lean men på senare tid har denna filosofi spridit sig även till andra branscher. Utvecklingen av lean mot processindustrin har däremot gått mycket långsammare vilket medför att den industrin fortfarande har mycket att lära när det kommer till lean. En del kritiker menar att möjligheten att använda leantekniker i processindustrin är väldigt begränsad medan andra hävdar att det bara krävs ett annorlunda angreppssätt och att de olika metoderna måste anpassas efter processindustrins förutsättningar.Då lean syftar till att eliminera olika typer av slöseri ur systemet finns det en generellt vedertagen metod som heter värdeflödesanalys. Denna metod används för att kartlägga material- och informationsflödet för att man på så vis ska kunna identifiera slöseri som existerar i systemet.

Today more and more companies are looking out to adopt a new generation intranet, a social intranet where all employees can engage to express themselves and share information. There are large expectations on these new services, which have the opportunity to create high business value if used actively and qualitatively. However, there is a large challenge in knowing how to best implement these services in an organization in order to achieve this. This paper has investigated how an implementation should be made by defining obstacles for the implementation and adoption, discussing how they could be overcome, investigating what incentives could be used to foster usage and finding common success factors for an implementation.By a qualitative research method, consisting of five case studies and two focus area interviews we found a number of steps that must be followed for an implementation to be successful. First the conditions of the organization must be investigated in order to see whether or not social tools are suitable.

Det var under 80-talet Lean satte sitt namn på den organisatoriska kartan. Lean är ett arbetssätt vars syfte är att effektivisera produktionssystem och eliminera moment i arbetsprocessen där ett direkt värde saknas. Allt fler organisationer väljer att implementera Lean trots att det finns kritiker vilka liknar arbetssättet med Taylorism och Scientific management varför vi finner ämnet intressant. För några år sedan var en av författarna bakom den här studien med och implementerade Lean på sin arbetsplats. Uppfattningen författaren fick var att medarbetarnas mottagande av Lean var negativt, ur det negativa mottagandet föddes en nyfikenhet hos författaren över relationen mellan Lean och medarbetaren.

This study is a quantitative study designed to examine whether training in health issues may have contributed to the increase in head managers' psychological capital (PsyCap). Construction consists of the following components: self confidence, hope, optimism and resilience. A high PsyCap considered beneficial in organizational change and steer towards the positive development and helps individuals in stressful situations. The results show an increase of characteristics such as hope and optimism among managers (N = 15) who have undergone training in health issues compared with managers who have not undergone training. However, the tests show no significant difference in head managers' attitudes to health breaks, not the severity of granting health breaks in the groups as a result of training.

The Arctic region has not been a topic of discussion or a reason for a conflict in the past, but with the development of environmental issues which has resulted in melting of the ice, so has the interest for the region developed. This has resulted in a conflict over the area, with five countries as main actors. This paper investigates the five main actors? goals with increased influence in the area, using the thoughts of Rational Actor Model, with states as utility-maximizing actors and foreign policy as the expression of national interest. Furthermore the paper investigates the means of getting to the goal, what kind of tools they use.The paper shows that all of the countries are interested in the economically benefits that are buried under the melting ice and the short cuts in sea routes that will be a possibility to use ones the ice melt more.

Building Information Modeling eller byggnadsinformationsmodellering används idag inom byggbranschen för att effektivisera projekteringsprocessen. Denna metod är fortfarande relativt ny inom branschen men är på väg att bli en branschstandard. Indikationer som visar på detta är att på universitetsutbildningarna Byggnadsingenjör och Affärsutveckling och entreprenörskap inom byggsektorn vid Chalmers tekniska högskola läggs stor vikt på utbildning om BIM. Många branschtidningar behandlar även detta ämne. På teknikkonsultföretaget COWI Management AB finns intresset av att se vilka möjligheter BIM-metoden kan medföra och om metoden går att överföra på processindustrin.Syftet med examensarbetet är att tydliggöra innebörden av BIM-metoden.

Ipendo Systems in Linköping, Sweden, is a small IT consulting firm developing among other things custom portal applications based on Microsoft Sharepoint 2010. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether the test tools TestComplete and LoadComplete provide sufficient compatibility for functional and non-functional testing of Ipendo Systems? Sharepoint based applications, as well as design testing related activities to be incorporated into their existing software development framework. A test process maturity framework was chosen and applied for the design of the testing activities, while the test tool investigation resulted in guidelines on how to apply the tools effectively and circumvent any issues discovered..

Development and accuracy tests of advanced exchange trading systems require well adjusted tools for testing. Då alltfler företag i dag internationaliseras tack vare öppnare gränser mellan länder och en friare marknad för kapital och arbetskraft, ökar även betydelsen av kunskaper inom interkulturell kommunikation. Med denna uppsats avser vi att undersöka hur kulturella skillnader kommer till uttryck vid möten inom och mellan organisationer. Fokus för undersökningen har varit Spanien-Sverige då handelsrelationerna mellan dessa länder aldrig varit mer omfattande. Detta samarbete har underlättats av medlemskapet i EU vilket förenklar handel och investeringar.Studien är kvalitativ och data har insamlats via direktintervjuer. De teorier som ligger till grund för analysen är kopplade till interkulturell kommunikation samt nationella kulturers inverkan på människors beteende.

By paying attention to different energies working with colours, shapes and materials one can create a nice garden with good feng shui. The philosophy, however, includes much more than what plants or what hard materials to choose in the garden. It describes different energies, the movement of energies, which we can learn to live in harmony with.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att hitta en innovativ definition av begreppet interna kunder samt föreslå en implementeringsstrategi för en av den svenska matvarugrossisten ICAs lagerenheter. Vi har nått våra slutsatser genom kreativa studiebesök, interaktiva intervjuer, en innovativ workshop och litteraturstudier. Vi har utgått från leanfilosofin och teorier om kulturer, förtroende och kommunikation i organisationer. Inom samtliga områden har vi stött på kopplingar till inre och yttre effektivitet. Under intervjuerna upptäckte vi att ICA står inför vissa utmaningar när det gäller de anställdas förtroende, kommunikation och individualistiska tankesätt.
