Avskiljning av ammoniumkväve och fosfatfosfor i reaktiva filtermaterial : skak- och kolonnförsök
In Sweden more than 400 000 private households have not yet sufficient wastewater purification. These effluent is considered as an increasing problem and many onsite purification methods have been studied. In this investigation, the method of reactive bed filters have been tested by column and batch experiments. Five different kinds of filter materials with reactive surfaces have been studied concerning their capacity to absorb ammonium and phosphorus from wastewater. The materials that were examined are Filtra N, wollastonite Filtra P, blast furnace slag and Polonite®.
Slitageestimering av bandfordon
Detta examensarbete har gått ut på att med hjälp av vibrations- och temperaturmätningar göra ett system för slitageestimering av stridsfordon. Denna rapport är en av två delar som ingår i detta projekt. Projektet är utfört vid Land Systems Hägglunds anläggning i Örnsköldsvik. Utrustningen som tagits fram är tänkt att vara en liten och billig utrustning som monteras i alla fordon för att under drift lagra hur stora påfrestning fordonet utsatts för. Utrustningen är uppbyggd kring en mikroprocessor i form av en digital signalprocessor.
Elektrisk matarpump för bränslesystem: En förstudie
För att transportera bränsle från tanken till motorn används på tunga fordon idag vanligen en mekanisk pump, driven av och placerad på motorn. Anledningen till att ha en direktdriven pump är främst att det anses som den mest robusta lösningen för den relativt enkla uppgiften som bränsletransport och liten tryckökning anses vara. För att klara av motorstart och driftsfall med höga bränsleflöden är dagens pump överdimensionerad för det behov som finns större delen av tiden.Önskvärt vore att kunna reglera bränslemängden kontinuerligt, för att minska pumparbetet i de punkter matarpumpen idag har överkapacitet. En elektrisk pump kan regleras att endast pumpa bränsle efter behov och erbjuder även andra fördelar, som t.ex. fri placering, möjlighet att använda en mindre pump och tilläggsfunktioner genom mjukvara, exempelvis priming och automatisk avluftning.Projektet har genomförts i form av en förstudie med konceptgenerering för placering av komponenter och provning av dagens system för kravspecifikation.
Kommersiell etisk konsumentkultur - en case studie av fenomenet (PRODUCT) RED
Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva och analysera framväxten av nya kommersiella etiska konsumtionsfenomen och dess påverkan på konsumentkulturen. Metod: Magisteruppsatsen bygger på en kvalitativ litteraturstudie som kompletterats med en empirisk case-studie av fenomenet (PRODUCT) RED. Allt emiriskt material är inhämtat från Internet under olika tidpunkter från och med mars månad till mitten av maj 2008. Empirin grundar sig bland annat i diskussioner vilka bedrivits på sociala nätverk på Internet och där främst inom grupper på Facebook. Materialet sträcker sig tillbaka till (PRODUCT) RED etableringen i mars 2006, vilket innebär att urval av inlägg och bloggar från olika diskussionsforum inhämtats under hela denna tidsperiod.

I mitt examensprojekt har jag utgått ifrån hållbar utveckling och människan i rörelse samt vardagens estetik. De flesta som reser idag använder transportmedel som flyg, buss eller tåg osv. Oavsett om de olika resemetoderna skiljer sig i miljöpåverkan, så påverkas alltid miljön negativt av dessa färdsätt. Det hållbaraste sättet att resa på är därför till fots. Min målgrupp i det här projektet blev då naturligt friluftsutövare som inte använder sig av dessa miljöbelastande färdmedel.Andra miljöbelastande delar av produktutvecklingen som jag som produktdesigner har möjlighet att påverka genom produktens utformning är att göra den mer unik.
Punktmolnshantering i anläggningsprojekt : Utvärdering av programvaror för framtagande av markmodell
An increased number of participants in the construction industry is asking for accompanying terrain models to the project in order to get a better understanding of the field. When the desire to create buildings that fit together nicely with the surrounding area is increasing, it becomes more and more important to have a broad base of knowledge about the ground on which the building is to be erected. Terrain models are also very useful in the planning of logistics, documentation for landscape architecture projects, and billings for mass calculations.Surveys for creating terrain models can be performed with laser scanning. The advantage of laser scanning is the time-effective surveying, the detailed information as well as the ability of application in complex environments resulting in a cost-efficient project. With this in mind our thesis was defined in collaboration with the company Bjerking AB in Uppsala in order to investigate if there were any softwares suitable for terrain modeling.
Being the media : decentraliseringen av nyhetsproduktionen och dess effekter på tidningsjournalisters informationsbeteende
The Internet provides the common user with a variety of both traditional and non-traditional news sources, and a vast range of possibilities to contribute to the flow of information. By their participation in the production of information ordinary citizens can sometimes function as non-traditional news sources them selves and reach a potentially unlimited audience. The interactive nature of the Internet blurs the line between producers and consumers, and challenges traditional definitions of what counts as "news" as well as who qualifies as a "journalist". The main purpose of this thesis is to examine the potential consequences of this decentralization regarding the information behaviour of newspaper journalists and their perception of their professional role. The study consists of qualitative interviews with six journalists, employed by four of the leading Swedish newspapers, and a review of earlier research in the field.
Spegel, spegel på väggen där ... : det fotografiska självporträttets betydelse för tonåringars identitetsarbete
Denna uppsats undersöker hur det fotografiska självporträttet används av ungdomar i tonåren och vilken betydelse det har i skapandet av den egna identiteten. Undersökningen besvarar frågeställningarna: På vilket sätt använder tonåringar den fotografiska bilden som redskap i sitt identitetsskapande? Hur kan fotografiet fungera som hjälpmedel för konstruktionen av självbilden? På vilket sätt väljer man att presentera bilden av sig själv? Hur kan man använda det jag sökande fotografiet i ett didaktiskt sammanhang och vad bör man vara uppmärksam på som pedagog? Insamling av empiriskt material till undersökningen har skett genom inhämtning av visuellt bildmaterial från en community på internet, via kvalitativa intervjuer med en grupp informanter samt via en litteraturstudie. Parallellt med det skrivna arbetet har jag genomfört en undersökande gestaltning på communityn bilddagboken.se. I gestaltningen har jag fotograferat mig själv kontinuerligt samt publicerat bilderna för att inta en betraktad-position.

Power quality measurements were also performed in Gryaabs other 10 kV substation HSP04 fed from HSP01 and at the terminals of the induction motor IN_PU4040 of 1.3 MW which controls one of the four large inflow pumps to the plant. The reason for the latter measurement was due to registered negative transients each time the motor was connected to the grid. The cause of the transients could be explained by the coupling in the substation, the ageing of the motor which could result in damage of the bearings or resonance in the motor circuit which amplifies high frequency harmonics.

Tungmetaller i lakvatten : avskiljning med mineraliska filtermaterial
Four different kinds of filter-materials with reactive surfaces have been studied concerning their capacity to absorb heavy metals in leachate from a municipal waste deposit. The heavy metals studied were: lead, cadmium, copper, mercury, chromium, nickel and zinc. The leachate contains high levels of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and has a high pH-value along with a high buffer capacity. These characteristics of the leachate make it difficult to remove pollutants and require efficient filters. The filters that were examined in the report are blast-furnace slag with CaO, sand covered with iron oxides, olivine and nepheline.
