Rules on parental leave have over the years been the subject of several gender debates. The big question has particularly been whether a further individualization of the days should be established. Sweden is a relatively equal country but differences still exist between men and women in the labor market, such as differences in wages. A fact that is considered encouraging for this is the uneven distribution of parental leave between men and women. It has now been nearly 40 years since the introduction of the first parental insurance but we have still not achieved gender equality in working life which was the main purpose.The main purpose of this essay is to study the motives for the proposal of individualized parental leave, and in addition examine how this change of rules could impact on gender equality in the work place.

We are more aware than ever about our impact on the common environment and the world's population. Consumption awareness can be one way to take social and environmental responsibility. This study aims to examine young adults' (19-30 years) attitudes toward consumption awareness in Sweden. Consumption awareness is treated in this study as the consumption of environmental and fair-trade labeled products that have been certified of a third party. The study is limited to everyday commodities, which in this case is groceries, household consumables and clothing.

The objective was to examine the frequency of unwanted behaviors in the Swedish feline population and what factors in the environment, inheritance and past life that have an influence on the frequency. SLU?s web poll generator was used to create a web poll which insinuated that it was a poll with objective to make an inventory of the Swedish feline population. I wanted to avoid that only owners to cats with unwanted behaviors answered the poll. The web link to the poll was sent to SLUs students and posted on Internet forums for people interested in cats.

Ultrasound is a well established diagnostic method in small animal veterinary practice but there appears to be limited use of ultrasound for evaluating the musculoskeletal system. The aim of this study was to investigate what publications exist concerning musculoskeletal ultrasound of dogs and to compare the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound at the University Animal Hospital (UDS) in Uppsala, to other animal hospitals in the world. The literature review is divided into three parts, the front leg, the hind leg and miscellaneous. The literature review focuses on the musculoskeletal abnormalities that can be seen with ultrasound. The front and hind leg sections are mainly focused on the joints.

The TLR4 receptor is well known as the receptor that binds lipopolysaccaride (LPS), and initiates the host response to bacterial infection. The aim of this essay is to examine how people living in the Swedish countryside looked upon changes in the interiors through modernization in 1850-90. For the first time, there was an abundance of objects available in stores in the countryside that the majority of the population had money buy. Many novelties were introduced in the interior decoration of ordinary peoples´ homes. This study focuses on the introduction and use of wallpaper and is based on a questionnaire about wallpaper sent from the Nordiska museet, National museum of Culture history in Sweden, to people all over Sweden in 1948. 148 people responded to the questions about use and attitudes toward wallpaper during the second half of the 19th century.My theoretical perspective is cultural diffusion, the spread of cultural items, more specific the diffusion of innovations from larger to smaller places, often influenced by social elites, hierarchical diffusion, and between individuals, contagious diffusion.The analytical perspective used for the analysis is based on the concepts of basic and variable modernity, initiated by the historian Sven-Eric Liedman.

När en patient opereras i generell anestesi kan hon trots medvetslöshet uppleva smärta om hon är för ytlig i sin medvetslöshet. Kroppens fysiologiska stressrespons aktiveras, vilket visar sig genom stigande blodtryck och ökad puls. Administrering av hypnotika och analgetika eliminerar denna stress effektivt varpå risken för smärtutlösta postoperativa komplikationer minskas. Eftersom den farmakologiska behandlingen också medför en ökad risk för postoperativa biverkningar såsom illamående, kräkning och trötthet skulle det vara av värde att hitta en icke-farmakologisk behandling som har god smärtstillande effekt men saknar postoperativa biverkningar. En systematisk litteraturöversikt har visat att musik har lugnande effekt preoperativt och en annan litteraturöversikt har visat på smärthämmande effekter på vakna patienter både under och efter operation.

Problembeskrivningen ger utgångspunkten för vår uppsats, som utgörs av två olika samhällstrender, en beträffande miljö och en som handlar om upplevelser. Tidigare forskning av certifierad svensk ekoturism har visat att upplevelser spelar en mer framträdande roll än miljö- och hållbarhetsaspekter i ekoturism¬arrangörers marknadsföring. Frågan är om detta gäller ur ett bredare framställningsperspektiv än enbart marknadsföring. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur ekoturism utförd i Sverige framställs av ekoturismarrangörer certifierade av Naturens Bästa. Syftet problematiseras med hjälp av följande frågeställningar: Vilken roll spelar hållbarhet i framställningen av ekoturism? Vilken roll spelar upplevelser i framställningen av ekoturism? Metoden som tillämpades var abduktiv ansats och genomfördes i form av en kvalitativ undersökning genom dokument¬analys där de certifierade svenska ekoturismarrangörernas hemsidor utgör vårt empiriska material.

Goods that children come in contact with on a daily basis for example toys, electronics, textiles, household items, have attracted an increased attention in recent years because of a common occurrence of residues of potentially hazardous chemical substances. Some municipalities in Stockholm have developed plans for managing chemical risks and work systematically to phase out products containing hazardous substances. This thesis aims to contribute to an improved knowledge base for any future work with non-toxic nursery schools in Haninge. The study's focus is on the challenges encountered by conditions and problems of preschool personnel to manage chemical risks in early childhood environments. Primary data was collected through a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews with both the preschool staff and practitioners working in the central organization of the municipality.

Vi har i vår analys av materialet använt oss av rollteori, pro-fessionsteori samt tidigare forskning. Uppsatsen är till stor del kvantitativ i sitt upplägg men har kvalitativa inslag i analysen.

Bakgrund och syfteIstället för att bedöma och värdera en coach utifrån dålig eller bra kan en coach ses utifrån ett kontinuum där nybörjare är den ena ytterligheten och expert den andra ytterligheten. Tidigare forskning om expert-coacher har två inriktningar, utveckling av expertis inom coaching och expert-coachens kännetecken och förmågor. Kännetecken och förmågor hos en expert-coach kan ses som nyckelbegrepp i denna studie. Underliggande begrepp inom expert-coachens kännetecken är karaktärsdrag, beteende och coach/ledarstil. Underliggande begrepp inom expert-coachens förmågor är kunskap och psykologiska färdigheter.

In connection with Henriksdals wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) a smaller plant is situated called Sjöstadsverket where new methods for wastewater treatment are tested and evaluated in different process lines. On one of the lines experiments with enhanced biological phosphorous removal (EBPR), have been carried out to evaluate if it is a good alternative to traditional chemical phosphorus removal. This thesis evaluates the results from the experiments conducted during fall 2005.The incoming water from Hammarby Sjöstad consists of only household wastewater, which gives a wastewater with high concentrations of nutrients and organic carbon. This is partly positive, because one of the limiting factors for effective biological phosphorus removal is the lack of easily biodegradable organic carbon. The high concentrations of ammonium and phosphorus demand a high reduction to achieve the requirements of outgoing concentration.To optimize the process experiments with different recirculations and different aeration techniques have been made.
