Material handling is a term that includes all kinds of handling of material from a raw product to a finished one. ABB is active in the following segments; foundry, packaging and palletizing, metal industry and plastics industry.The demands for efficiency and reliability have been set very high in the industrial sector. Optimizing of the material handling will give the company higher cost-effectiveness. Around the robot there are different kinds of material flows, to optimize the cycle time, consisting of carriages combined in different ways.Motion Control is a complex system with main functions such as; positioning, synchronizing, indexing and more. The products in the system need to cooperate to make these functions possible therefore integration of motor- and servo products are important.

This paper is a literature study on search engine optimization (SEO) considering the leader of the search engine market: Google. There´s an introductory background description of Google and its methods of  crawling the Internet and indexing the web pages, along with a brief review of the famous PageRank algorithm. The purpose of this paper is to describe the major important methods for improved rankings on Google´s result lists. These methods could be categorized as on-page methods tied to the website to be optimized or off-page methods that are external to the website such as link development. Furthermore the most common unethical methods are described, known as ?black hat?, which is the secondary purpose of the text.

The wide spread of the Internet and new information technologies in recent years has come to effect how libraries manage and disseminate information. Search engines like Google are widely used by people who often find the information retrieval systems of libraries to be too complicated. In 2004 Google announced plans to digitise five major library collections. Organisations representing the publishing industry and authors have since then filed lawsuits against Google claiming that Googles scanning of library books infringe the rights holders copyright. Due to Googles potential impact on libraries this thesis aims to examine how Googles digitisation project, Google Book Search, has been received in the library community.

Molntjänsterna Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive och Box har implementerats. Syftet med rapporten är att observera vilka problem som kan uppstå vid implementationen av molntjänsterna, och hur dessa problem kan lösas. Resultatet blev att molntjänsterna hade liknande problem. Problemen som uppstod var att alla molntjänster förutom Google Drive kunde bara öppna filväljaren i en popup. Att ange rätt domännamn blev ett problem för flera molntjänster då det var olika hur mycket av URLen som behövde anges, vilket berodde på respektive API..

På senare år har etableringen av 3D-applikationer på internet, för att visualisera geografiska områden och platser blivit allt vanligare. Exempel på sådana applikationer är tjänsterna Google Earth och Street View, som levereras av företaget Google. Den snabba utvecklingen av 3D-tjänsterna har medfört bättre bildupplösning och mer detaljerade satellitbilder. Detta har i sin tur fört med sig att integritets- och säkerhetsrelaterade frågeställningar relaterade till 3D-applikationerna har aktualiserats. Från flera håll i världen har Google stött på ifrågasättanden och protester.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to evaluate three general query-based web search engines. The search engines chosen are Google, Yahoo! and Live Search. The topics, which where transformed into twenty queries, are based on real users? information needs, taken from an ask-a-question service.

Google Glass är ett par glasögon med utökade tekniska funktioner som är under utveckling av Google X. Denna kandidatuppsats undersöker hur produkten kommer att stå sig på marknaden. De områden som denna studie har valt att fokusera på är de säkerhetsfrågor som kan komma att uppstå gällande produkten. Säkerhetsfrågorna syftar på integritetsaspekten för användaren och dess omgivning, samt hantering och spridning av data. Det andra område som denna rapport analyserar är människa-datorinteraktion.

The purpose of this paper is to compare the three search engines Web of Science, Google Scholar and MEDLINE in regards of recovery efficiency and the overlap of relevant documents when it comes to information searching for academic purposes. Furthermore, it raises the question whether freely available search engines and licensed search engines are interchangeable with each other. The empirical data in this study were collected through searches conducted in the three search engines Web of Science, Google Scholar and MEDLINE. Twenty search queries were used and the first twenty retrieved documents for each query were examined for relevance using previously designed criteria. The documents were scored by a binary relevancy scale and thereafter a precision value for each search engine was calculated.

This thesis examines the retrieval effectiveness of two Web search engines. The two search engines are chosen to represent two different types Google as a broad general search engine and Dogpile as a broad general metasearcher. Twenty queries have been used and the first twenty hits for each query were evaluated for relevance. The queries were invented by the authors, based upon their interests and information needs. They were expressed in a general manner, by using one or several keywords, in accordance with the simple search mode available for each search engine.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate three search engines with regard to retrieval effectiveness of information specific to Swedish users. Coverage and the precision in result descriptions are also examined. The three selected search engines are Google, MSN Search and Svesök. 30 queries were tested against the search engines and the first 20 result descriptions and results were judged for relevancy. Relevancy was judged by a binary scale.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate and compare the retrieval effectiveness of two search engines on the Internet: Svensk Medicin and Google Scholar. Svensk Medicin is a medicine-specific search engine and Google Scholar specialises in indexing scholarly material. A set of 20 questions in four categories were used to conduct the searches with the search engines. Genuine medical information needs were selected from a question collection provided by the television program Fråga doktorn. The relevance of the first 10 retrieved documents was judged by using a binary scale and the measure used was precision.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka och jämföra elevers och lärares uppfattningar om hur det är att arbeta med ett socialt medium i undervisningen. För att uppnå syftet ställdes en övergripande fråga: Hur uppfattar lärare och elever Google Sites som verktyg för lärande? Och två underfrågor: Hur och i vilket syfte används Google Sites? Vad tros användningen ge eleverna, enligt lärare och elever? För att få svar på frågorna utfördes kvalitativa intervjuer med två lärare och fyra elever. Intervjuerna spelades in med en diktafon och transkriberades inför analys utifrån frågeställningen. Både lärare och elever i min undersökning är positiva till användningen av Google Sites i undervisningen.

Idag använder många band och artister utan skivkontrakt olika tjänster på Internet för för att publicera sitt material. Dagens populära tjänster saknar antingen en välutvecklad musikspelare eller en webbplats med community.Syftet med det här arbetet är att med hjälp av molntjänsten Google App Engine, programspråket Python och ramverket Django utveckla en mer komplett tjänst.Arbetet resulterade i grunden till en tjänst samt en rad positiva och negativa slutsatser gällande valet av teknik..

The web is getting more and more characterized by personalization. Big socialnetworks like Facebook as well as the leading search engine Google increasingly usepersonalization algorithms to tailor the information that they present to users. All inorder to make the information more relevant and engaging for the end consumer. Howdoes this personalization affect journalists who increasingly search the web as a partof their journalistic research? In this essay we have looked at the effects thatpersonalization has on the journalists of tomorrow by conducting a survey amongstudents of journalism.
