Endocrine disruptive chemicals (EDCs) are found in many everyday products and can cause adverse effects on human health. Small children are particularly sensitive to EDCs and they are also exposed to them in a greater extent than adults. Despite this, EDCs are only banned in a few toys and childcare products. There are many sources of exposure and if no steps are taken to reduce the incidence of EDCs we may face an increasing number of people diagnosed with obesity, diabetes type 2 or various types of cancer.The Swedish Government has set a number of environmental objectives, one of which is calleda non-toxic environment. The Swedish Chemicals Agency was instructed to produce and conduct a national action plan to achieve this goal.

Toothbrushing is the best available method in remaining or restore dental health in dogs. This report treats different aspects about toothbrushing and other dental home care treatments in dogs. Questions like why the dog?s teeth should be brushed, what effects toothbrushing have on dental health and how the teeth can be brushed are treated. Furthermore complements to toothbrushing are treated, the options and their effects.

According to the Conventions on the Rights of the Child, children have the right to make their voices heard and express their opinion in situations concerning them. With this paper the authors have chosen to explore social worker?s view?s on children?s participation and influence, and how these are manifested through the entire case process. The focus in this study has also been the positive and negative effects the children?s influence may have.To investigate this, a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews has been conducted.

De senaste decenniernas ökade globalisering och konkurrensutsättning har inneburit högre krav på styrmetoder hos såväl privata som offentliga organisationer. Innes & Mitchell (1990) har utvecklat en modell för förändringar i styrmetod (på engelska management accounting change) som Cobb, et al. (1995) och Kasurinen (2002) sedan vidareutvecklat. Denna modell beskriver vad som på företagsnivå driver förändring i styrmetod och vilka barriärer som organisationen måste övervinna för att lyckas med förändringen. Offentliga organisationer styrs ofta av andra mål än privata organisationer vars mål många gånger är att tjäna pengar.

This work aims to evaluate the possibility of using a graphical programming language to develop software for a digital signal processor. A fixed-point digital signal processor called Blackfin BF-537 is used for this. Instead of using conventional programming languages, like C or assembler, for software development the possibilities to use a graphical environment to fill the same purpose are examined. The development environment primarily used is NI LabVIEW, but also the use of Mathworks Matlab Simulink is investigated. A variety of programs consisting of various signal processing operations and utilities are developed using these development environments.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relation between self-determination theory and its three basic needs: competence, autonomy and relatedness, and commitment to change in an organizational change. Another purpose was to examine if the quality of the communication and the effects on the organization and way to work can predict commitment to change. Considering that organizational changes is very common today there is an interest to ease and improve the change process. The survey contained the scales Commitment to change scale and Basic need satisfaction at work scale and the participants were 39 office-workers who recently had gone through an organizational change. The result indicated that it?s possible to predict commitment to change from self-determination theory, communication and effects on organization and way to work.

The authors study the effects of brand salience on how consumers form brand attitudes and how consumers value the importance of various brand attributes. The study was conducted through two separate tests, the one focusing on the link between brand salience and brand attitudes and the other focusing on the link between brand salience and evaluations of attribute importance. Both tests measured brand salience as the ease with which brands are recalled by respondents who have been cued with a specific product category. The results show that brand salience has direct effects on both brand attitudes and the evaluation of attribute importance. As brands are recalled, high brand salience for a brand creates a more positive attitude towards that brand in the mind of the consumer.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to describe various methods of treatment and effects of treatment of ADHD, and to investigate wheater there is an association between adults with ADHD and obesity. Method:  Literature review. Twelve quantitative scientific articles were found in the data bases PubMed, Cinahl and MedLine.  Result: ADHD is a cognitive impairment that can lead to serious complications such as obesity. Studies show that drug treatments of adults with ADHD have positive effects in terms of reduced symptoms, increased efficiency and improved quality of life, but drugs can also cause side effects in form of loss of appetite and insomnia. For adults with ADHD and obesity drugs that affect metabolism have a significant impact on patients ability to lose weight.

Background: Patients with leg ulcer suffers often of woundpain. Healthcare professionals will strive after having knowledge and understanding for how woundpain influences the patient's quality of life. Aim: The aim is to elucidate the patient's experiences of pain at venous leg ulcer and the effects on their daily life. Method: The procedure has been a systematic literature overview with a systematic search in different databases. The search resulted in nine scientific articles.

The cultivation theory claims that it is just the amount of TV that shows an effect on consumers and their perception of reality, like for example the mean world syndrome. But the theory has been criticized for not considering the possible effects that are actually related to other variables. These variables have weakened or totally eliminated the effects, previously explainedby TV, in later control studies of the cultivation theory.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine and analyze the communication effects from the campaign SAS EuroBonus American Express Card. Our aim is to measure the advertising effectiveness of the campaign.To gather primary data we have conducted a quantitative survey at Arlanda Airport, where the campaign is mainly located. The survey included a total of 253 respondents representing the population at Arlanda Airport.Our conclusion is that there is an awareness of the presence of American Express at Arlanda. The company is clearly dominating among its competitors regarding visibility at the airport. Despite this, only a moderate degree of the travelers recognize the pictures from the campaign.

Dagens aktuella litteratur innehåller inte någon analys av kommunikationsprocessen vad gäller sändare till mottagare, hur ser kommunikationen ut när mottagaren inte är samma person som köparen, som i en ?förälderbarn? relation? Detta är en vinkel som vi tycker bör belysas i ämnet ?kommunikations- teori?. I vår uppsats har vi valt att studera denna vinkel och har därefter utvecklat en modell över just denna typ av kommunikation, där köparen - föräldern, av produkten inte är samma som användaren ? barnet. Modellen grundar sig på den klassiska kommunikationsmodellen; Elementen i kommunikations processen.

Rapporten behandlar konstruktion av vinge till en radiostyrd modell av Boeing C-17 Globemaster III. Modellen kommer att tillverkas för försäljning av företaget Mil tech. Spännvidden på vingen är omkring sju meter och med den storleken kommer den troligtvis bli det nuvarande största radiostyrda flygplan som konstrueras för försäljning. Rapporten beskriver konstruktionsförslag för delning av vinge, bak- och framkantsklaff, skevroder, luftbroms, motorpyloner och de valda lösningarna samt vilken vingprofil som modellerandet utgått från. The Rya power plant in Borås produces district heating, district cooling and electricity. The plant is owned by Borås Energi och Miljö AB and is run by Dalkia Facility Management AB.In order to get the best heat exchange from the district hot water a pair of twin pumps and a turbine circuit pump are used as return pumps. Turbine circuit pumps are used to increase the pressure through the heat exchangers at the power plant. The pumps are in use when the flow is over 2 000 m3 h-1 and during the summer when re-cooling is used to improve the effectivens of the heat boilers.Since the pumps, that are parallel connected, rotating at a fixed rate per minute, the pressure is regulated with regulating valves. This report shows that during the 4,300 hours that the pumps where in use, energy corresponding to 590 MWh was wasted.

Syfte:Syftet med studien är att se om ett samband förekommer mellan Moody?s ranking och beräkningar utförda med en modifierad modell av Merton för ett visst antal europeiska företag. Syftet är vidare att dra slutsatser och tolkningar vad gäller tillförlitligheten och relevansen kring att använda den modifierade Merton modellen som ett kreditmått. Metod:Tillvägagångssättet för att erhålla resultatet för studien går ut på att för sju olika europeiska länder välja sju företag för respektive land. Utifrån de valda företagen har historisk data insamlats i form av aktiekurs och skulddata vilka är utgångspunkten för de beräkningar som utförs med en modifierad Merton modell.
