There is a relationship between confidence in management and personnel satisfaction. The personnel?s confidence in management can be seen as a fundamental tool which is needed to ensure the success of the organizations mandate. This study investigates how management works to create and maintain confidence. The conditions that management has for building confidence are explored, as well as the significance of leadership in the building of confidence.

AimThe purpose of the study was to investigate how upper secondary school students experience performance demands during their physical education and health classes (PE-classes). The questions were as following: Are there differing perceptions between the sexes whether students experience performance demands? In what situations do the students feel that the demands on their performance are high during PE-classes? Do the students experience of demands on performance differ whether the physical education and health teacher is male or female? Do students feel unfairly treated by the physical education and health teacher during PE-classes?MethodSeven upper secondary schools in Stockholm?s administrative district were randomly selected to participate in the survey. The principals were contacted for further information and to set a date for performing the survey. The project leaders were present during the days the surveys were taken by students in the social science and natural science programs.

Myxomatous mitral valve disease is a common disease in older dogs of small- to medium-size breeds. The free press is an invaluable part of the democratic society and a pillar stone in the creation of ideas, opinions and norms. According to theories such as agenda-setting and framing the media have a significant influence on people?s perspectives and opinions. With this view of media along with the gender system provided by Yvonne Hirdman as a framework, this study intends to examine the gender representation in Swedish domestic news journalism. The study consists of a quantitative analysis of two major Swedish morning papers, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet, where the gender representation regarding journalists, main news sources and pictures are being accounted for.

The aim of the study is to investigate how pedagogues working with gesticulation and facial expressions to communicate with children aged 3-5 years. The methods used are observations as well as interviews of educators. My empricial evidence was collected on two different preschools in Värmland County. The pedagogues are dealing with body language in a conscious way by collections as they sing and they reinforce feelings of characters support. In my conclusion I have come come to the conclusion that there is no difference on how male and female educators use gesticulation and facial expressions without its personality traits and body language often are unconsciously in conversations with children..

Modern forest owners are very familiar with forest management and forest economics. Therefore they have high demands for quality in forest operations. Guarantee of quality in the shape of self-checking activities is an important tool to guarantee a well managed forestry operation. To meet the forest owners? demands on guarantee of quality and the entrepreneurs wish of an easy method for self-checking, the forest owners association, Södra skogsägarna, has developed a new method for thinning inventory. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the method that is used for self-checking and to find ways to develop and improve of the method. The data has been collected by inventory in a number of stands with circle-area survey and with strip survey, which is method that is used for self-checking. The results show that the strip survey does not diverge more than ±10 % in measuring values of basal area, number of stems, roads share, thinning quotient, outtake of basal area and total volume compared to circle-area survey.

The purpose of this thesis was to describe how service producing IT- companies handles their internal marketing. We wanted to understand how management deal with internal marketing activities and how different companies create a working environment to encourage employees to motivation and well-being. To be able to find out we did a case study on a service producing IT-company. Two personal interviews were done with two of the managers. Our empirical research showed that the company used internal marketing on a daily basis.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka hur kön görs i sex stycken vägledningssamtal på gymnasiet. Med stöd av några utvalda könsteoretikers forskning analyseras samtalen som utförts av tre stycken olika studie- och yrkesvägledare på tre stycken olika gymnasieskolor. Varje studie- och yrkesvägledare samtalade med en tjej och en kille i årskurs tre och deltagarna valde själva ut vilka elever som spelades in på band. Resultatet pekar på att studie- och yrkesvägledarens förhållningssätt delvis skiljer sig åt beroende på elevens kön. Genom att undersöka samtalsinnehållet och jämföra detta med normativa föreställningar om kön så ges olika exempel på hur kön görs i samtalen.

Handledning innebär reflektion över personligt upplevda arbetsrelaterade situationer och tidigare forskning inom området har visat att handledning kan stimulera till professionell och personlig utveckling. Vid bearbetandet av reflektioner i handledningen kan Orlandos omvårdnadsteori utgöra en lämplig grund. Teorin är en interaktionsteori, vilket innebär reflektion över vad som händer i det enskilda mötet mellan sjuksköterska-patient och den grundar sig på frågor som berör upplevelse, tanke, känsla och handling. Reflektion är ett centralt begrepp även i handledningsprocessen och likartade frågor bearbetas i mötet mellan handledare-handledda och kan väckas i mötet mellan chefmedarbetare. Syftet med detta arbete var att belysa huruvida handledning kan utgöra ett redskap som stärker och utvecklar ledarskapet hos första linjens chefer.

Executive SummaryThis final thesis has examined the effects of an increased centralization and better coord­in­ation of the distribution logistics at ABB in Västerås. The company is today strongly decent­ralized and there is a minimum of collaboration between the 20 business units. This is why the questions were raised; how could the business units coordinate outbound logistic activities and what effects would that provide. The obj­ect­ive of this final thesis is to provide basic data for a future decision-making which desc­r­ibe these effects.The report has mapped out the factors that are important to ABB in an evaluation of their logistic activities and how the outbound logistics work today. The four factors are cost efficiency, delivery service, environmental impact and logistics capability.
