SEB Merchant Banking provides to its institutional customers a true market neutral product called Dynamic Manager Alpha (DMA). The DMA is constructed by a long position in an exceptionally well performing mutual fund and a beta adjusted short position in an appropriate index. The key to making the product market neutral is adjusting with the correct beta, since the beta changes, it is very important to have a good model for predicting beta in the future.This master thesis begins with describing what beta is in a CAPM sense. It then continues with recognizing the so called ?Two Beta Trap?, which separates two kinds of beta.

Prior research on the ability of financial ratios to predict bankruptcies has shown a significant difference between the companies that went into bankruptcy and those that survived. This paper investigates whether there is a difference in the prediction ability of financial ratios during the last financial crisis compared to relatively normal macroeconomic environments in which most previous studies have been conducted. We use univariate analysis to compare companies that went into bankruptcy during 2010 and 2011 with companies that remained active. Our dataset consists of 51 failed companies that are matched with 102 companies that remained active. All companies were Swedish limited companies with more than 50 employees and the comparison is made with 26 financial ratios.

This report describes how a small, newly established business enterprise can develop a digital strategy with clear goals and practical guidelines. The report describes a digital strategy for Gelato Scarfó and shows how this strategy is made concrete through a set of guidelines. The guidelines develop a trademark for identification and loyalty, and give advice on how new materials can be made consistent with the trademark..

Background: A life with severe chronic heart failure is debilitating, and most patients die of the disease. The possibility of having a heart from a deceased donor is often the patient's only hope of continued life. Aim: To gain a deeper insight and understanding of the patients experiences after a heart transplant. Method: Literature study with results based on 13 scientific articles. Results: Gratitude was the great common experience for the recipients of new hearts.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och analysera hur budget och BSC:s roller fungerar i privata och offentliga verksamheter och att undersöka om BSC är ett komplementärt styrverktyg till budget. Då uppsatsen syfte skulle besvaras använde gruppen sig av en kvalitativ metod. Fallstudien gjordes på företagen Alfa-Laval, Gambro och Trelleborg och kommunerna Helsingborg, Kristianstad och Tierp. Gruppen har använt sig av en abduktiv ansats.Under detta arbete kom det fram olika skillnader när det gäller budgetens och BSC:s roller. Det har även framkommit differenser mellan de privata och offentliga verksamheterna.

Many IT projects that have been developed in recent years are often considered to be unsuccessful. According to a study by Exido up to the 72% of all IT projects are considered to be failed. A failed IT projects means that the organizations that have ordered the new system may have higher costs or/and the system will not be ready in time. If costs are too high the new system might not be installed in the organization or if the system is not completed within the specified time frame the organization can become stagnant.In this paper we conduct an investigation of the failure of IT projects there we will examine where, in the systems development lifecycle four different phases, projects fail. We will conduct an empirical study of each phase, where we describe the key steps in the process; we will also investigate failed IT projects that are linked to the current phase.

I uppsatsen har jag undersökt hur muslimer presenteras i tv-serien Andra Avenyn där strategin utgörs av en diskursanalys. Denna grundar sig på Edward Saids antaganden i verket Orientalism samt Magnus Bergs teori om hur orientalen framställs inom populärkulturen, vilket han presenterar i Hudud: en essä om populärorientalismens bruksvärde och världsbild. Jag diskuterar endast de aspekter av populärkulturen som berör film då mitt undersökningsmaterial är en tv-serie. Genom studien av Andra Avenyn presenteras ett förslag till en påbyggnad av Bergs teori om orientalen. I analysen diskuterar jag mig fram till hur Andra Avenyn liknar samt skiljer sig ifrån de populärorientalistiska filmer Berg analyserat..

Several studies illustrate that the main reason for failure in product development is lack of customer understanding. Lately considerable changes have occurred. Large-scale mass production is continuously being replaced by customer orientation, especially in the high technological market.

There are many kinds of joint operations and combinations of combined arms. This thesis puts its focus on Close Air Support, CAS. Throughout history there have been several cases of success, regarding these kinds of operations, but also failure. Much can be taught from organizational behaviour studies, applied on these military organisations in their cooperation with each other. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the cooperation between the Swedish army and air force to determine the functionality of their process.

Amyotrofisk Lateral Skleros, ALS, är en neurologisk sjukdom vilken leder till att samtliga kroppens muskler förtvinas och dör. Då sjukdomen saknar bot blir all behandling symptomatisk och individuellt anpassad för varje enskild persons behov. I denna systematiska litteraturstudie har det sökts efter olika sätt att stötta denna patientgrupp då syftet att belysa hur vi som personal kan hjälpa och stötta personer med ALS relaterad dysfagi och andningsproblem till en så bra tillvaro som möjligt skulle belysas.Författarna har funnit att omvårdnaden sällan sätts i fokus. Det är istället de lösningar som tar bort symtomet som fått fokus i flertalet av de artiklar som granskats. Att hjälpa dessa personer till trygga och oberoende människor som kan fortsätta att leva istället för som många av artiklarna visade då det gjordes insatser som ledde till att personerna blev mer bundna till sina anhöriga och sina vårdare..

Information är en viktig tillgång för organisationer och därför är också informationssäkerhet viktigt för företag som vill skydda sin information. Företag inför informationssäkerhetspolicys som är en syn på hur företagets ledning vill att informationssäkerheten ska skötas. Det är ett problem att anställda väljer att inte följa vissa delar eller hela säkerhetspolicyn av olika anledningar. Detta arbete utför en fallstudie på ett företag för att se hur anställda efterlever den säkerhetspolicy som finns. Strategin för undersökningen är generell och den visar hur företag kan gå tillväga för att identifiera brister i efterlevnaden av säkerhetspolicyn.

Ett av Sveriges största fastighetsbolag genomförde under ett par år en hel del uppköp av andra bolag, samtliga med egna organisationskulturer och värderingar. För att ena fastighetsbolaget beslutade ledningen sig för att anlita ett konsultbolag för att skapa ett utbildningsprogram för medarbetarna inom organisationen. Både fastighetsbolaget och konsultbolaget ansåg det som viktigt att utbildningen genomfördes internt för att öka trovärdigheten och acceptansen hos de anställda. Det skulle vara kollegor som utbildade kollegor, utan inblandning från konsultbolaget. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka hur fastighetsbranschen utvecklats över tid och genom en fallstudie i det ovan nämnda fastighetsbolag visa hur ett förändringsarbete kan planeras och implementeras.

Ten colic horses and seven healthy horses were included in a prospective study aiming to evaluate acid-base disturbances in colic horses. Traditional acid-base methods and measurements of lactate were used to study prognosis and changes before, during and after surgery. Strong ion gap, anion gap and base excess were compared to evaluate their ability to predict lactate. Of the ten colic horses that went through surgery, seven survived, two were euthanised and one died. Significant differences in plasma lactate levels were seen between the group of survivals and non-survivals, p=0,000025. No differences were seen in pH and base excess between the two groups.

With varied electoral success for anti-immigration parties across Western Europe, Sweden is often held as an example where anti-immigration parties have been less successful. This have caught the interest of many scientists around the world and have recently developed theories on a subnational level when testing Sweden?s municipalities, on why they have failed here but not in other countries. But in the election to 2010, Sweden now joins the rest of the Western-European countries in having an anti-immigrations party in the parliament.This paper has tested three theories on a Municipality that has shown evident support for the Sweden democrats, both in the local and the national election. This is done with a qualitative approach, made up from interviews with the local established parties.
