År 2009 antog IMO en ny resolution som innebär att ett nytt instrument gradvis kommer införas som obligatorisk standardutrustning på fartygsbryggan. Detta system förkortas BNWAS vilket står för Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System och är kortfattat ett dödmansalarm som syftar till att varna vid otillräcklig aktivitet på bryggan. Detta system har funnits en tid men blir nu obligatoriskt ombord. Detta påverkar arbetssituationen och arbetsmiljön för vakthavande styrmän. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka vad styrmän som arbetar med systemet har för uppfattning och åsikter om systemet.

The purpose of this thesis work was to develop an automatic fault detection system for surveillance of bearing temperature in hydropower turbines. The parameters used except the bearing temperature were cooling water temperature and cooling water flow. A simple static model based on data sampled every minute was developed to estimate the bearing temperature. Then a detector for detection of change in bearing temperature based on the CUSUM-algorithm was designed. Since the amount of data was very small the developed model was too uncertain to be used in a working system.The designed fault detection system showed to work well for the available data.

Dessa videor tas sedan och delas upp i små filer och görstillgänglig via internet. När du vill spela upp en sådan video laddar du först hemen fil som beskriver vart filerna finns och i vilka bithastigheter de är kodade i.Mediaspelaren kan där efter börja ladda hem filerna och spela upp dom. Om defysiska förutsättningarna, som exempelvis nedladdningshastighet eller CPUbelastning,ändras under uppspelningen kan mediaspelaren enkelt byta kvalitépå videon genom att börja ladda filer av en annan bithastighet och slippa attvideon laggar.

Det sker idag daglig samverkan mellan räddningstjänster och SOS Alarm i trafikrum på SOS-centralerna. Brandbefäl med ansvar för larm och ledning, ofta kallad systemledning, samverkar med SOS-operatörer under pågående räddningsinsatser. Denna samverkan har byggts upp med skillnader i arbets- och ansvarsfördelning mellan organisationerna. Syftet med rapporten var att kartlägga de samverkansformer och arbetssätt som tillämpas mellan räddningstjänst och SOS Alarm i trafikrum. Syftet var även att SOS Alarm skall få ta del av räddningstjänstens synpunkter och erfarenheter för att kunna utveckla samarbetet ytterligare.

The aim of the study was to examine if and how the social service and the social welfare secretary provides against threat and violence in the encounter with clients. The study is qualitative and carried out with six semi-structured interviews with social welfare secretaries and participation observations at the social welfare offices in three municipalities. The theoretical starting points used were symbolic interactionism and strange loops. The result shows that social service and social welfare secretaries both use measures to prevent threat and violence to occur. The precautionary measures mainly used by social services are ; looked doors, alarm device, loose objects removes and interview rooms are furnish in purpose for the social welfare secretary to flee the room at urgent need.

Planet rendering plays an important role in universe visualization and geographic visualization. The recent tools and methods allow better data acquisition, usually with very high resolution. However in computer graphics, there is always the limitation on the resolution of geometry and texture due to numerical imprecision. Not many applications can handle high resolution data effectively.This thesis introduces, Implicit Surface Scene, a level of detail scene management inspired by dynamic coordinate system and SCALEGRAPH? which change over time depending on the current camera position relative to the planet surface.

Value-at-Risk (VaR) is among financial institutions a commonly used tool for measuring market risk. Several methods to calculate VaR exists and different implementations often results in different VaR forecasts. An interesting implementation is historical simulation, and the purpose of this thesis is to examine whether historical simulation with dynamic volatility updating is useful as a model to calculate VaR and how this differs in regard to type of asset or instrument. To carry out the investigation six different models are implemented, which then are tested for statistical accuracy through Christoffersens test. We find that incorporation of volatility updating into the historical simulation method in many cases improves the model.

The purpose of this study was to identify the way in which history textbooks from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s used for grades 7-9 depicts World War II from a eurocentric perspective. A qualitative textual analysis was used to achieve the purpose. Three history textbooks from each decade was included in the study, also comparisons have been made to see any changes over time. The study used John M. Hobson matrix describing how the Occident and the Orient are defined from a eurocentric perspective.

This report describes how we made a dynamic website combined with staticalweb pages and a web shop for the Swedish company Tyger & Ting.The employer Tyger & Ting wish to run a working web shop on their site butthey want to keep their old system of updating pages with their old applicationfrom Intellyweb1, which creates statical HTML pages.The goal of this exam paper has been to learn to create a functional web shopwith user friendly layout and appealing design and also to take orders andfulfill wishes from a real employer.The report is describing how Intellyweb?s application and its statical web pageshas been implemented on a dynamic web page. The report does also describehow this site has been build and how the problems with the coding have beensolved. The coding has been made with HTML, PHP and MySQL. CSS hasalso been used.

The report handles the transmission of signals from piezoresistive pressuresensors and thermocouple from a rotating object. This report also evaluates the possibility to collect data in a datalogger that rotates with the object. Telemetrics was previously used for signaltransmission in Finspång, therefore there has been no tests considering preassure measuring. One transmitting method handled in this report is transmission through a slipring connection. One test with a slipring connection was performed for transmitting signals from a piezoresistive preassuresensor.

The purpose of this thesis is to explain how IT-players? entrance in the mobile handset industry affects the industry in regards of key success factors and value chain structure. This study has used dynamic theories to describe the mobile handset industry. The theories have helped us in understanding the characteristics and drivers of the industry and thereafter to identify the key success factors.

Purpose: To investigate emergency room nurses' experiences in receiving medical alerts focused on education, safety, security, skills and experience, and andherence to guidelines. The purpose was also to investigate whether there were any differences in action between the emergency room nurses who had worked longer or shorter period than two years with this.Method:The design was quantitative, comparative and descriptive. Surveys were distributed to 30 nurses who worked in the emergency room at a Swedish hospital.

SOS Alarm har, med staten som uppdragsgivare, åtagit sig att svara för nödnumret 112 inom Sverige. De utför även uppdrag för landstingens räkning, inom ambulansalarmering och inom ambulansdirigering. SOS Alarms affärsidé är att utveckla, erbjuda och utföra tjänster för att skapa trygghet i nödsituationer och bidra till ett tryggare samhälle.I början av år 2003 inledde SOS Alarm projektet OPAL med målet att utveckla ambulansverksamheten i Sverige. OPAL står för Optimerad Ambulanslogistik och drivs i samarbete med Linköpings universitet. Ambulanslogistik är den planering, implementering och kontroll av resurser och information som utförs för att åstadkomma ett effektivt sätt att betjäna en person i behov av vård utanför sjukhuset, inklusive eventuell transport.OPAL-projektet har bland annat resulterat i en beredskapskalkylator.

INTRODUKTION OCH SYFTE: Tidigare studier av kooperation och ortodonti har visat att ett av de bästa sätten att öka patienternas kooperation är genom att övervaka användningstiden och påminna patienten om att använda sin apparatur. Den här pilotstudiens syfte var att undersöka om någon utav två olika typer av påminnelser objektivt ökar användningstiden vid behandling med avtagbar apparatur eller inte. MATERIAL OCH METOD: 18 patienter i åldrarna 9-14 års ålder från en patientpopulation som behandlades vid avdelningen för Ortodonti, Odontologiska Fakulteten på Malmö Högskola, deltog i studien. Patienterna hade olika typer av bettavvikelser som gjorde dem behandlingsbara med antingen van Beek eller expansionsplåt. Patienterna placerades slumpmässigt in i en av tre grupper, alarm, kalender eller kontrollgrupp. Användningstid registrerades objektivt med en TheraMon®-timermodul som placerades inuti den ortodontiska apparaturens akrylbas. RESULTAT: Alarm-gruppen hade högst genomsnittlig användningstid.
