The purpose of this study was to describe how journalists do research for their articles and whether there is a need to create a knowledge bank of the material that journalists use for writing these articles. I also looked at how knowledge management could be used at a daily newspaper to add value to the information used by the journalists. The thesis is based on four interviews with journalists, a literature review and a practical project. I helped a journalist with his information seeking and later tried to organize the material. This project gave me an understanding of how varying the material that journalists use is and how difficult it would be to try to organize it in order to create an organizational knowledge resource of the material.

In todays sociaty the use of information systems is wide spread and many corporations and buisnesses both in large and small spread make use of more advanced and sopisticated systems. Larger corporations have their own IT sections that maintain and updates their systems on a daily basis. They have the money and resources for it by how do the small businesses coop with it. How satisfied are the small businesses that are maybe runing on systems that might not be supplying the needs that the business is in need of. In this paper we investigate this question in the form of a questionnaire.

Visualization plays a key role in the concept of Lean. Lean was developed in Japan as a business philosophy in order to lead to an activity, where only steps that contribute to customer value of the final product are being performed. By defining the customer value and establish visualized standards, it is possible to see when situations differ from the standard. Then it?s possible to lead the process back on track.

The purpose of this paper is to find out if there are any simple solutions to attract an increased use of public transportation in a smaller town in Sweden. Simple solutions are measures that can be taken within the current budget, and which do not require large investments and extensive political decisions. In order to search for possible solutions I needed to find out which factors and attitudes that determine why people choose public transportation and peoples? traveling habit. I have made a survey study of satisfaction and attitudes among the consumers of a public transportation company in Växjö; Länstrafken Kronoberg.

This development has also led to a shift of power from businesses to consumers. Today?s consumers have more control of if, when and what messages they are exposed to.

Förutom muntliga intervjuer genomfördes dessutom intervjuer via mail.ResultatFå lärare inom ämnet idrott och hälsa arbetar med upprättandet av åtgärdsprogram. Den syn på kunskap som läraren i ämnet idrott och hälsa har på sitt ämne är en bidragande faktor till varför/varför inte ett åtgärdsprogram upprättas.SlutsatsSom tidigare forskning visar, prioriteras främst teoretiska ämnen när det kommer till upprättande av åtgärdsprogram inom grundskolan. Detta kan bero på att synen på kunskap i ämnet idrott och hälsa inte anses vara av samma vikt som övriga teoretiska ämnen.

Purpose/Aim: This essay explores the framing and representation of pensioners in Swedish press during the period of 2002-2008. The aim was to investigate what meaning news give elderly people on the manifest level, and also what meaning the media texts construct on the latent level.Material/Method: For this paper I have investigated framing of pensioners using quantitative analysis of 100 news articles, followed by a qualitative hermeneutic analysis applied on the most frequent frames discovered in the quantitative study.Main results: Four frames were identified concerning pensioners: crime victims, heroes in daily dues, economically advantaged and economically disadvantaged. The dualistic result in the economy frame was investigated in the qualitative research. The study revealed that pensioners as a group may have good economic standards, although there are individual differences. Three stereotypes were discovered in the articles: ?kind granny?, ?fragile and miserable? and ?look what I can do?..

Sjukdomen är obotlig och kan påverka personens livskvalité. Syfte: Att beskriva vuxna kvinnors upplevelser av att leva med MS. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserat på 12 kvalitativa artiklar.

The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to examine how public libraries in Sweden handles their weeding procedures. A series of questions are asked: How does libraries in Sweden motivate weeding? What principles constitutes the procedure of weeding? Which aspects are given most importance when weeding is decided. How does views on weeding differ between libraries of different sizes? How does longer or shorter professional experience influence the view on weeding? The study was done through an online questionnaire which was sent to a number of staff members on different libraries via e-mail.

Problematisering: Det skönmålade begreppet coaching har fått stor genomslagskraft inom företagsvärlden under senare tid. Efter att ha studerat ett antal tidigare uppsatser kring coaching har vi konstaterat att flertalet av dessa uppsatser tenderar att vara författade med coachen i fokus. Vi vill därför i denna uppsats leda diskussionen vidare och undersöka hur tre olika yrkesroller inom ett företag ser på coaching och bringa klarhet i hur begreppet tillämpas i praktiken.Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att bidra med kunskap kring hur coaching tillämpas i ett serviceföretag och vilket innehåll begreppet ges i praktiken.Metod: Vår avsikt med denna uppsats är att genom en praktisk fallstudie utöka kunskapen kring hur coaching och coach som yrkesroll kan uppfattas. Vi har valt att genomföra strukturerade intervjuer med såväl coacher som medarbetare på ett av CityMails lokalkontor, CityMailCenter i Helsingör. Vi har dessutom tillhandahållit information via e-mail från en utvecklingskonsult på personalavdelningen vid företagets huvudkontor i Danmark.

The main purpose of my essay is to inquire into the situation in the preparatory classes. The focus of interest in the essay is to see how new arrived pupils/children from Iraq integrate in the new school environment, foreign culture and what difficulties they come across during their period at the preparatory class. Such as language difficulties and how they manage with the traumatic memories from the war and the effect of that in their learning.I choose to do a qualitative survey and taking part in observing a preparatory class to see how they work. Thereafter, to see from a different perspective and understand the pupils more and perhaps go deeper with some questions I choose to interview some of the pupils. The responds I received gave me a more comprehensible idea of the struggle these children have been through and still go through in a daily basis.The result of this study illustrates the character of a preparatory class, and the central factors that occur in their education.

In this study we have explored and investigated how journalist experience the relationship with politicians/press secretaries in the making of political news. The study examines how journalists see the balance of power between them and their political sources in the setting of the news agenda. To do this we have used a qualitative interview analysis. Our theoretical starting points have been based on the social exchange model. The social exchange model has a social psychological and sociological perspective that explains the interaction, social exchange and stability as a process of negotiation exchanges between parties and operators.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka vad som påverkar inslaget av social respektive formell kontroll inom den interna kontrollen. En modell har framtagits, vilken består av ett flertal faktorer; såsom kön, ålder, högsta utbildning, vidareutbildning, medbestämmande, påverkan, arbetslivserfarenhet, avstånd till arbetsplats, kommunikation umgänge och sammanhållning, samt den interna kontrollen i form utav COSO-modellen. Denna modell ska hjälpa oss att försöka få fram om det finns några samband mellan den individuella faktorn och inslaget av social respektive formell kontroll inom den interna kontrollen. Undersökningen är utförd på nämndnivå, barn- och utbildningsnämnden, i tre mindre kommuner runt om i Skåne. För att få fram inslaget av social respektive formell kontroll inom den interna kontrollen intervjuades den ansvariga för intern kontroll inom varje nämnd.

The purpose of this study was to examine the problematic and frustrating aspects of parenthood in the modern runaway world of today. In other words, we wanted to study how parents in Sweden experienced their life as parents in the beginning of the 21th century.We wanted to find answers to the following questions:What kind of problems do parents experience and how do they deal with these problems?What would parents consider to be typical for them as parents compared to how they remember their own parents?What do parents think about family politics?Do parents think they need parent education?If parents want parent education, why do they want it?To answer these questions we used qualitative interviews. With this method we got information from six parents and five professional parent educators who was kind enough to let us interview them. We also gathered information about the subject through literature and news articles.The result of the study can be divided into three parts.

Syftet med den här c-uppsatsen är att undersöka lärares uppfattningar av att införa hälsokunskap för elever i årskurs 5 och 6. Enligt Ålands Landskapsregering ska hälsokunskap införas som ett obligatoriskt ämne i alla högstadieskolor på Åland, från och med hösten 2011. För att få svar på syftet har intervjuer med sex stycken lärare som arbetar i årskurs 5 och 6 gjorts. Ett missiv skickades via e-mail ut till verksamma lärare i årskurserna fem och sex på Åland. Det var sex stycken lärare som tackade ja till att delta i undersökningen vilket ansågs som ett passande deltagarantal och därför valdes de ut till intervjupersoner.
