Har rock en roll för hälsan? : En fokusgruppsstudie på hur musicerande i grupp inverkar på vuxna deltagarnas välbefinnande och empowerment

The objective of this qualitative study was to contribute to the understanding of how musical activities affect the participants' well-being and empowerment and to investigate which fac-tors contribute to that effect. Invitations were sent to 13 adult participants in a rock music school in the middle part of Sweden. 7 persons (4 men, 3 women) participated in the study. 4 themes were discussed in focus groups to highlight how informants were affected by the ac-tivity and what factors were important in the context. Results showed that music activities impact on participants' well-being and empowerment through several factors.Themes that appeared were: 1) focus on the present through music, 2) personal development, 3) meaningful leisure activity 4) the group properties.

The thesis concerns itself with studying the effects private brands has on the consumer?s impulse buying in the grocery industry, as in degree of unplanned spending and the selection process between manufacturer brands and private brands when such a purchase is performed. The study?s methodology is characterised by a qualitative approach, whereby the study acknowledges the inductive approach towards the empirical setting even though the Mehrabian-Russell model along with motivational theories serve as highlighters of relevant aspects in the empirical field. The study concludes that both the utilitarian and the hedonic consumer decide what to buy before entering the store, whereby a low degree of needs arise in the store.

The thesis provides with the broad overview about the consumer awareness of the gender dimension within brand personalities. The research contributes to branding theory and gender studies and demonstrates that consumer gender influences does not influence the perceived brand personality gender. This essay shows how the concept of virtue can deepen our understanding considering processes of empowerment. A virtue is understood as a trait of character, manifested in habitual action, that it is good for person a to have. Virtues are interpreted as socially constructed. Empowerment is presented as a process toward self-confidence and self-determination where recourses and freedom propels the development toward power for the individual, the household and the community. Why does the concept of virtue deepen our understanding? It is argued that our theoretical perceptive of empowerment needs to better encompass values, norms and practise.

Valuing Green: A Qualitative Study on the Priorities of Values, Personal Norms and Identity for Green Consumer Products

The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to a further understanding of the complexity in green consumer behaviour by examining how and why individuals priorities values, personal norms and identity in green consumer behaviour. The thesis employs a qualitative approach with an abductive strategy. The empirical data was produced through in-depth interviews with green consumers. Based upon the empirical findings and theoretical concepts, a conceptual model was introduced to illustrate how consumers prioritise between several values when assessing green products. The prioritisation is dependent on internalised values as well as the product function and the need that the consumer seeks fulfilled.

Empowerment och ett patientcentrerat förhållningssätt. Relationen mellan sjuksköterskor och patienter - en systematisk litteraturstudie.

Empowerment och ett patientcentrerat förhållningssätt är i högsta grad aktuellt eftersom det idag läggs ett allt större ansvar på patienterna vad gäller delaktighet i utformandet av den egna vården och omvårdnaden. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är därmed att undersöka empowerment och ett patient centrerat förhållningssätt i mötet mellan sjuksköterskor och patienter. Fokus ligger på hur sjuksköterskorna ser på detta förhållningssätt i sitt arbete med patienterna samt vilka erfarenheter patienterna har av empowerment och ett patientcentrerat förhållningssätt i relationen till sjuksköterskorna. Metoden i denna systematiska litteraturstudie är baserad på Goodmans sju steg för hur en systematisk litteraturstudie ska genomföras. Resultatet är baserat på tio vetenskapliga artiklar. Utifrån resultatet i dessa artiklar framträder två kategorier i form av maktfördelning och samarbete samt maktobalans och envägskommunikation.

"Jag har blivit en bättre mamma" : En studie om deltagarnas upplevelser av föräldrastöd i grupp

The aim of this qualitative study was to investigate the participants experiences of a parent support group and the effect of their participation on their parental role from a learning perspective. As the parent support group takes place as a group activity, the focus was on the individual learning processes which, in turn, are influenced by both the group itself as well as the leaders of the group. The empirical data was collected from a focus group interview with four mothers, and analyzed using empowerment and coping theories. Based on the participants´ narratives, the result showed that the parent support group had a great social and pedagogic effect on the participants. As a result of the received knowledge in the group from both leaders as well as from other participants, they felt less stressed and more confident in their parental role.

Introduktionsersättning - ökad möjlighet till självbestämmande? : En studie utifrån socialarbetarperspektiv

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om lagen om introduktionsersättning ger möjligheter till ökat självbestämmande och därmed en ökad grad av empowerment för den enskilde flyk-tingen, sett ur ett socialarbetarperspektiv. The essay concerns corporation?s usage and consumer?s attitude towards the phenomenon Big Data. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva hur sjuksköterskor inom äldreomsorgen skattar sin arbetssituation utifrån strukturell- och psykologisk empowerment, arbetstillfredsställelse, upplevd hälsa, vårdkvalitet samt chefs- och ledarskap. Vidare var syftet att studera skillnader och samband mellan ovan nämnda faktorer utifrån subgruppers (ålder, yrkesverksamma år, heltid/deltidsarbete och uttag av kompetensutvecklingsdagar) skattningar. Under 2011 ? 2012 besvarades fyra standardiserade frågeformulär av 79 äldrevårdssjuksköterskor i fem kommuner i Mellansverige. Resultatet visade att sjuksköterskor som var 50 år eller yngre upplevde att de fick mer kritik än äldre sjuksköterskor.
