In the spring of 2006 we had our first outbreak of avian influenza of highly pathogenic H5N1 (HPAI) among wild birds in Sweden. This disease have impact on poultry industries world wide. Sporadically the virus infects other species than birds and we now know it can even cause fatal infection of humans. There are not yet any confirmed cases of transmission of the disease between humans though a suspected case in an Indonesian family is under investigation. If a mutation occurs that changes the pathogenicity and host affinity to humans we are at a risk of a new pandemia, perhaps like the Spanish flu in 1918-1920.

In this essay I have read the novels Wide Sargasso Sea (Jean Rhys 1966), Desirada (Maryse Condé 1997) and Invisible Cities (Italo Calvino 1972) through Édouard Glissant?s notion of the primary scene in Philosophie de la relation. Poésie en étendue. I have examined how the primary scene can be seen as a political/an aesthetical strategy in the three novels. This was done in order to question the blunted tool of the notion of the identity, which is often considered in studies regarding ?postcolonial novels?.

In May 2010 the plans for Malmö?s new Concert Hall, Conference Centre and Hotel were announced publically. The purpose of this thesis was to present strategy for communication in order to gain approval for the new concert and conference Center from the inhabitants inMalmö and to incorporate the use of it in their everyday life.Material from the receiver?s as well as the sender?s perspective has been collected from qualitative interviews. Through group interviews we have investigated the general consensus of the inhabitants of Malmö regarding the investment, placing, offered events, expectations as well as how they collected information.

In Sweden exist a Swedish institute for children?s book which is a national information Center. They have an annual "Book tasting" where they present statistics and trends from the latest publications of literature for youth and children.In their ?book tasting?? from 2010 a number of picture books had, as they say, children who descend from non-Swedish culture (Swedish institute for children?s book, 2010). The aim of this thesis is to investigate how the ethnical diversity describes in these picture books from 2010. To understand how the ethnical diversity describes in these books I had two questions which helped me in my research.

New rules for bank capital adequacy were introduced in 2013. This caused a changein funding of real estate companies. The bank could not cover as much of thecompanies funding?s as before and they had to explore other funding opportunities,such as bonds. Bond funding in Swedish real estate companies regularly consists ofunsecured corporate bonds and the secured ones are not that common.

Forskningsfråga:  Vad kan komma att karaktärisera köpcentrum i framtiden?Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att med avseende på såväl nutid som framtid analysera på vilket sätt arbetet inom köpcentrum är inriktat för att stärka varumärket, klargöra sinnenas betydelse för köpcentrum och tydliggöra hur köpcentrum förhåller sig till konkurrensen från olika typer av handelsplatser.Metod: I denna uppsats har en kvalitativ forskningsmetod antagits. Uppsatsen har en abduktiv ansats. Vi har intervjuat sex personer med anknytning till ämnet. Urvalet var ett såkallat bekvämlighetsurval och intervjuerna semistrukturerade.Resultat, slutsatser: Det första syftet besvarades med hjälp av att presentera hur varumärkesbyggandet ser ut för köpcentrum och andra viktiga aspekter till detta.

The master thesis ?Mechanical Integration of an IR-detector in a Micro Cooler? has beenperformed at FLIR Systems AB in Danderyd. FLIR Systems is a world leader in the design,manufacture and marketing of thermal imaging camera systems.The thesis project is divided into to two areas, Production Method and Noise.The Production Method concerns the positioning of a detector on the cold finger within the IRcamera.The detector has to be positiond with very high accuracy at the Center of the cold finger,so it can be placed in line with the optical axis to avoid movement of the picture during zooming.The positioning of the detector is at present done with the help of specially designed guides on aplate on top of the cold finger. The design workes well but the special machining needed for thisplate is very expensive.The goal concerning the production method was to derive a new more cost effective method forthe assembling and positioning of the detector on the cold finger by replacing the guides on theplate with a reusable equipment or some other alignement operation.Several concept ideas have been generated with the help of concept generation methods in theform of concept classification trees and concept combinational tables. Two of these conceptswere selected to be further refined.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka begreppen Barnets Bästa och Samverkan. Syftet var även att ta reda på hur samverkan går till konkret på Barnhuset i Göteborg, med utgångspunkt Barnets Bästa. Datainsamlingsmetoden har skett genom en fokusgruppintervju och en halvstrukturerad intervju.

This thesis explores the narrow spaces between closely built houses in the over 300-year-old wooden town Center of Mariestad, Sweden, and their potential as time capsules and sources of knowledge in cultural-historical building investigations. By interpreting well-preserved carpentry work on a facade in one of these spaces, the study aims to provide an example of how these preserved spaces can serve as a source of knowledge and understanding of craftsmanship and the history of the place. The thesis also addresses the municipality of Mariestad's work with cultural heritage, as well as maps out more of these potentially interesting interstitial spaces. Old Swedish wooden towns possess a high degree of uniqueness both nationally and internationally; nevertheless, they are subjected to relatively significant threats of demolitions and substantial changes, often in the form of many smaller restorations or changes over a long period of time. The focus of the case study is a window from the 16th or 17th century and the facade's old, hand planed wooden cladding.

Thule Sweden AB utvecklar, tillverkar och marknadsför kompletta och funktionella lasthållarsystem för bilar. De erbjuder en mycket stor bredd av olika lasthållare till över 1500 bilmodeller. De tillverkar lasthållare som cykelhållare, boxar, skidhållare, hållare för vattensport och andra tillbehör. För att en bil skall kunna bära en takbox måste det tillverkas en lasthållare som placeras mellan biltaket och takboxen. En del i denna lasthållare kallas för takbleck och dess form tas fram med en speciell takskanner vilken analyserar biltakets form vid kanterna.Till detta har en mjukvara tagits fram som Thule kan använda för att söka/lägga till/redigera takbleck, istället för att manuellt söka i en pärm bland 700 olika ritningar.

Through focus group interviews gathered material in which aimed to gain insight into students'subjectively experienced life-world in which their experiences, feelings and values ??were at the Center. The investigation resulted in the execution of three focus group interviews with four students in each group from three different classes.

Denna uppsats är en kvalitativ studie av Navet Science Centers diskurs för hållbar utveckling. Detta som ett exempel på hur hållbar utveckling kan prägla en verksamhet, utifrån ett resonemang att en diskurs är dialektiskt och både formar sin kontext men också blir formad däri. Navet är en fortbildningsinstans för naturvetenskap, teknik, matematik och hållbar utveckling. I den teoretiska anknytning behandlas först och främst den komplexitet och tolkningsutrymme som finns inom hållbar utveckling, vilket kopplas samman med lärande om hållbar utveckling. Vilken version av diskursbegreppet avgör hur metoden utformas och därmed behandlar teorin en förklaring av val av diskursbegrepp, vilket är Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), och hur denna ser ut.
