This master thesis presents a Model for Evaluating and Managing Interruption Risks in connection with Business Continuity Planning (BCP), developed for Swedwood International. The model consists of a template with instructions. The model should be easily understood and useful for establishing a plan for BCP. This is achieved by including the contents and procedure of BCP and the main supplychain risks in the model. The purpose of a BCP plan is to describe how an enterprise will return to business as usual after an interruption, e.g.

Hållbar utveckling i högre utbildning : Miljöledningssystem användbart för akademin?

The purpose of this report was to investigate how the Umeå School of Business and Economics at Umeå university can work to increase the share of courses and programmes that discuss sustainable development. Furthermore the purpose was to develop an action plan that can be used to increase that share. Methods used were a questionnaire directed towards the educators at the Umeå School of Business and Economics and an assessment of the content of courses and programmes connected to the Umeå School of Business and Economics. There was no clear structured way of working with education for sustainable development, but at the same time there was a will to integrate sustainable development in the education. Curricula were according to the educators an important tool to achieve this integration, their experience were that there are not enough time, people and money to work with sustainable development in the education and they would like to see more clear directions from the management.

Interim Management ? The way to capture a manager´s true value

The thesis has two aims to first describe the phenomena by explaining how interim management works and what the charachteristics of an interim manger are. The second aim is to look at the value issue of interim management; What value does an interim manager provide to a company and how do interim managers try to capture and cultivate this?The qualitative method has been used. The interim management market analysed in this thesis can be stated to consist of three parts; the interim manager as a provider of knowledge, a client firm in need of a temporary manager, and an interim agency in between working as an intermediary/supplier. The characteristics of interim managers are; they are in general self-employers and rather generalists than specialists, meaning they are experienced and have great knowledge skills.

Resultateffekten hos svenska företag som har in- och utbetalningar i utländska valutor kan bli betydande. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om mer information kring ett företags valutapåverkan ger ett mervärde ur analyssynpunkt. Metod: Kvantitativ, Induktiv deduktiv metod. Primärdata är försäljningsstatistik insamlad från bokföringen på företag X. Teori: Teoriavsnittet behandlar olika begrepp som dyker upp i de studerade företagens årsredovisningar.

Budget som styrmedel?

Syfte: Studiens syfte är att skapa en förståelse för vilken funktion budgeten fyller i grundskolornas verksamheter, och vilka kopplingar det finns mellan deras nuvarande verksamheter och vad som förespråkas vid en budgetlös styrning. Även relationen mellan skolornas ekonomistyrning och deras strategier kommer att undersökas för att skapa en förståelse för sambandet mellan dessa begrepp. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ metod där vi har samlat in primärdata genom sju semi-strukturerade intervjuer, samt en del frågor ställda via mail. Dessa intervjuer har skett med rektorer, alternativt annan ekonomipersonal, på fem grundskolor i Blekinge län. Tre av dessa har kommunala huvudmän medan resterande två drivs av privata huvudmän. Slutsatser: Studien visar att budgeten fyller många syften inom de budgetanvändande skolorna vilket innebär att den fyller en viktig funktion. Friskolorna använde sig av mer flexibla metoder för ekonomistyrning än de kommunala skolorna gjorde, men ändå kunde likheter med budgetlös styrning även ses i de kommunala skolornas ekonomistyrning.

Evaluation of the animal welfare work performed by the licensing committees and a proposal on how to establish an enhanced animal welfare assurance program for the Swedish Trotting Association

According to the basic values of the Swedish Trotting Association the horse and its welfare should always be held in highest consideration. One part of the animal welfare work in the organization is to ensure good horse management practices by controlling all active trainers through the local licensing committees situated at the Swedish racetracks. The Swedish Board of Agriculture stated that high quality animal welfare assurance programs used by the industry organizations can be used in the risk assessment of the official animal welfare control to make the official control work more effective and the ambition of the Swedish Trotting Association is to establish an animal welfare assurance program which may be approved by the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Racehorses are exposed to welfare hazards both in their management as well as during training and racing and factors like handling, training, feedstuff, stable environment, medication and the possibility to express natural behavior all affect the welfare of the horses. The aim of the project is to investigate and evaluate the animal welfare work performed by the licensing committees and to give advice on how to improve the industry?s animal welfare control.

Att leda den kommunala utbildningsorganisationen : En studie ur förvaltningschefens perspektiv

This study is based on interviews with five directors of educational administration within the Stockholm County. The purpose is to investigate how the directors of educational administrations, in the different municipalities, describe the relationship between the administration and the local school units. Moreover, the aim is also to describe the administration director?s work in relation to the various levels of the administration. To what extent can it be identified as a dimension of the learning organization described in this report.The study shows that skepticism is usually directed upwards toward the next level in the organization and that the decision-making right for local schools is consistently safeguarded.
