The information technology development that has occurred over the past decade has broughtmajor changes into people?s lives. We have gotten used to being constantly connected to theInternet and always having access to information through mobile technology. This has led tochanges in education and more and more courses have become available through Internet. Theseweb-based educations are nowadays very common in schools and in the business world as theyprovide increased flexibility for the user.Habiliteringen Lundbystrand has seen the potential in this kind of education and believes this isan opportunity for them to rationalize their work by replacing parts of their education for parentswith a web-based education.

Construction accounts for about 35 percent of the total Swedish energy consumption and most of the energy is used by the large housing stock from the so-called ?Million program?. In the national action plan the government has put forward in energy efficiency. It is mentioned that existing buildings account for more than 90 percent of what is expected to be the housing stock within the coming 50 years. In order to meet environmental objectives its required that the existing stock be reviewed for energy efficiency. The goverment is now initiating a national framework with a budget of SEK 300 million Swedish crowns per year for five years, starting in 2010 to achieve the goal on energy efficient buildings. Energy efficiency of buildings in both new construction and above all within the existing stock are addressed.

Human - Technology - Organization (HTO) is a well-established, general unifying concept in the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority (SHK) that represents an approach, knowledge and use of various tools regarding interactions between people, technology and organizational factors. The HTO-perspective is well described in literature but there are few studies on how SHKs staff experiences working according to this method in their investigations. The aim of this study was therefore to describe their HTO-perspective, examine how it is used in the investigations at SHK and describe the investigators experience of working with the HTO-perspective as well as the method's usefulness compared to old methods in accident investigations. A literature study has been conducted in the areas of HTO, Theory of planned behavior (TPB) and safety culture. TPB and safety culture are described in this paper since they highlight the different aspects of a HTO-perspective.

Detta examensarbete omfattar ett förslag på utformning av en utställning med Interactive Institute som uppdragsgivare.Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att utforma en utställning till ett antal prototyper som utvecklats i projektet ?Static!?. Prototyperna visualiserar energi på olika sätt där tanken är att uppmärksamma användandet av energi. Vi har arbetat med att skapa ett utställningsförslag med god informationsdesign som ger medvetenhet om energianvändning hos målgruppen.Vi har undersökt hur man skapar uppmärksamhet hos besökare, hur man kan göra utställningen informativ utan att någon står och berättar om den samt hur man undviker att besökare vidrör prototyperna i utställningen. För att skaffa oss de kunskaper som behövts för att genomföra examensarbetet har vi gjort litteraturstudier, genomfört flera intervjuer, gjort en enkätundersökning samt gjort fältstudier.Examensarbetet har resulterat i ett idéförslag som visualiseras med hjälp av datorskisser.

 Abstract: Facebook in the Public Sector - qualitative interviewstudy with The Swedish maritime Administration, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, the Swedish prison and Probation services and the municipality of Katrineholm about their precense on Facebook.In my bachelor?s thesis I have studied how three government authority and one municipality uses or don?t use Facebook in their communication towards the citizens. I have chosen to study four different cases, to see if there are any significant similarities or differences between how the different services are working with their communication. I have chosen to explore my cases through semi-structured qualitative interviews, where I met communications officers of every organisation face to face.I have found out that there is not one right way to communicate through Facebook, every organisations decisions must be based on their own mission, aims and objectives. And I have seen that both the transmitter and the receiver need to mature into the new acting of this new channel - Facebook..

The aim of the study is to learn more about the way preschool teachers work with Information and Communication Technology(ICT). More specifically, this study aims to explore how preschool teachers describe their experience of ICT, the conditions and opportunities to work with ICT, and their own knowledge and competence in the use of digital tools with preschool children. The research method consists of interviews with preschool teachers and observations at five municipal preschools in Stockholm as well as an analysis of the relevant passages in the Curriculum for the Preschool and the Curriculum of Stockholm city. This study shows that there seems to be great variation in the amount of ICT tools present in preschools. Preschool teachers expect a lot from ICT, and the improvements that it can make on their work.

The mobile revolution is here to stay, and today most people have (at least) one cell phone at home. Some even a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)as a complement for the simpler tasks at the office, e.g sending e-mail, word processing, browsing the Internet etc. Many business have also given the employees the opportunity to do some of the business tasks inbetweeen customer visits with the help from a cell phone or PDA.Despite all this, the so called Internet connected mobile revolution is often mentioned as a big failure. Maybe because the people in general tended not to use the new technology as much as the companies predicted. Generally stated, the CGB department is committed to the generation and management of genetic information by approaches aiming at elucidating the connection between genes, protein and function.WiGID is a genome information database that is available through WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).Our version of WiGID is based on WML, PHP and PostgreSQL as a database server.One of the changes on the old WiGID application was the creation of a relational database with seven tables and one view, instead of the file that represented the database on the old version. We also changed the script language from python to PHP.The search engine ability has been extended with three new search alternatives for a user to choose from. Each choice leads to other, sometimes multiple choices.A GUI has been created for the administrator, to be able to insert information into the database.The structure of the search engine is primarily for narrowing down the search result on the phone display, thereby making the search efficient..

Teknikens roll i samhället ökar och större delen av befolkningen behöver hantera olika föremål och tjänster, vilket kan medföra svårigheter vid användning. Syftet med studien var att beskriva relevans och svårigheter i användning av vardagsteknik i dagliga aktiviteter hos personer i åldrarna 45-64 år. Studien designades med kvantitativ ansats. Undersökningsgruppen bestod av 40 personer från landsbygd och storstad. Datainsamling genomfördes med det standardiserade bedömningsinstrumentet Everyday Use Technology Questionnaire (ETUQ II), bearbetades i dataprogram och redovisades med deskriptiv statistik.

Denna rapport utgör det avslutande momentet på programmet Produktutveckling 180hp vid Blekinge Tekniska Höskola. Rapporten kommer behandla framtagning av en nykonstruktion för fixturering av propellerblad i en bearbetningsmaskin. Arbetet hart gjorts i samarbete med företaget Xylem Water Solutions Manufacturing AB i Lindås. Arbetet har mynnat ut i ett konceptförslag och en rapport som projektgruppen för inköp och uppstart av den nya maskinen kommer kunna ta del av och använda som underlag vid detaljkonstruktionen av den faktiska fixturen som kommer tillverkas. Den största delen i detta arbetet har lagts på alla de steg som har varit nödvändiga att göra för att kunna komma fram till slutresultatet.

Under vårterminen 2011 har jag studerat hur ett verktyg påverkar en arbetsprocess. Från en idé har ett projekt vuxit fram och två ljudbanker för musikproduktion har producerats, detta har gjorts möjligt genom att jag har studerat digital ljudproduktion på Blekinge Tekniska Högskola, där intresset för det som blivit mitt kandidatarbete, har väckts till liv. Mitt kandidatarbete har resulterat i två ljudbanker, den ena banken har fokus på digitala trummor medan den andra har fokus på synthar. Slutreflektionen berättar hur denna process har gått tillväga, och hur resultatet blev. Jag för fram för- och nackdelar av arbete i Dune, hämtar fakta från kända producenter inom elektronisk musik och bedömer det resultat jag har får.

This degree project summarizes five years of education at the landscape architecture program at the Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences, SLU, Alnarp and the School of architecture at Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Stockholm. The project has been carried out by Lovisa Berg and Per Crona in collaboration with DRIFT Scenkonst. This master project is based on the ongoing transformation of a former mining site in Ställberg, Bergslagen situated in central Sweden. The organization DRIFT is in the process of recreating to former industrial mining site as a green cultural center. Their field of artistic examination concerns existential questions connected to the site. The aim is to offer a place for both performing and experiencing contemporary performing arts in Bergslagen. Our objective is to contribute to the growth of the performing arts project and to demonstrate in concrete terms how a conversion of a mining area can be completed, while taking into account both its history and its new function.
