This paper is about employees' opinion towards libraries. The target group consists of employees at industrial research institutes in Sweden. Libraries offer several more services today than they have done before. I think many people do not recognise all of them and I also think the knowledge and the opinion about libraries have to do with use of them. Since I am curious about if this is true or not the purpose of this essay is to find out, through an attitude research, the employees', at industrial research institutes, opinion about library service.

The subject of this master thesis is co-operation between archives, libraries and museums. The purpose is twofold: 1 To map out activities within the area to get an overall picture. The mapping is done by studies of documents and consists of international outlooks and an overview of national and regional projects and reports; 2 To investigate how leaders of the respective institutions within the various regions of Sweden apprehend co-operation between the three sectors. The empirical study is accomplished by inquiries and is mainly qualitative. An intermediate purpose of this essay is to try using grounded theory to treat and analyse the gathered material.

Internet has made information more easy to get, but also more difficult to retrieve. There is a need for information retrieval systems that assure accurate, reliable and up to date information. Quite a number of both commercial and non commercial search services has been developed on the Internet. We have made a qualitative study of one for-pay product in particular, NetS k, produced by BTJ (Bibliotekstj nst), Lund. It is a database that contains collected, evaluated and classified links, and is especially developed to suit public librarians in Sweden.

Under 2006 invandrade 473 personer till Bodens kommun. I samband med detta öppnade en integrationsenhet som ansvarar för att introducera invandrarna i samhÀllet. Syftet med denna uppsats var att studera vilka integrationsÄtgÀrder som erbjuds i kommunen, upplevelser av dessa samt om integrationsarbetet kan utvecklas. Stor del av materialet samlades in genom intervjuer med fyra personer som sjÀlva invandrat till Sverige samt med samordnaren för integrationsenheten. Informanterna har olika lÄng vistelsetid i Sverige.

Behovet av tillgÀnglighet pÄ kommunikation innebÀr att vi idag har krav pÄ att meddelanden som skrivs över webben inte bara nÄr oss via en dator utan Àven till vÄra mobiltelefoner. MÄlet med examensarbetet har varit att genom litteraturstudie och intervjuer konstruera ett webbaserat SMS-system som kan anvÀndas till att sÀnda SMS textmeddelande till en godtycklig mobiltelefonenhet. Meddelande som sÀnds ska Àven lagras i databas och administreras via webbsidan. En jÀmförelse har Àven genomförts dÀr syftet har varit att undersöka bÀst lÀmpat programsprÄk för Bluetooth applikation. Metoden har grundat sig pÄ kriterier.

Bemanningsbranschen har lÀnge funnits i Sverige men det Àr inte förrÀn pÄ senare tid som den uppnÄtt den utstrÀckning som rÄder i Sverige idag. Arbetsmarknaden krÀver flexibilitet för arbetsgivare och arbetstagare. Syftet med denna studie Àr att undersöka vilka faktorer som hjÀlper till med etableringen av bemanningsföretag pÄ arbetsmarknaden. Studiens frÄgestÀllningar lyder enligt följande: ? Hur kommer det sig att bemanningsföretagen kan fortsÀtta vÀxa kontinuerligt? ? Vilket syfte uppfyller bemanningsföretagen gÀllande arbete? Resultatet av studien visar sex kategorier av signifikant betydelse för vilka faktorer som bidrar till etableringen och utveckling av bemanningsföretag i Sverige idag.

Syftet med den hÀr uppsatsen har varit att fÄ en bild av yezidiernas religion och deras liv i exil. Hur yezidier ser pÄ sin identitet och möjlighet att utöva sin religion i Sverige. I uppsatsen finns en kort forskningsöversikt av de centrala delarna i yezidismen. För att fÄ svar pÄ mina frÄgor har jag anvÀnt kvalitativ intervju som metod. Undersökningen Àr gjord i form av djupintervjuer med yezidier bosatta i HÀssleholms kommun.

Mitt syfte med detta arbete har varit att försöka ge en beskrivning över vilken relation den konverterade muslimen i Sverige har till Koranen. Jag har valt att försöka belysa detta genom frÄgestÀllningen:Hur tillgodogör sig konverterade muslimer i Sverige Koranen?Arbetet Àr en kvalitativ fallstudie dÀr jag genom fyra djupintervjuer pÄ ett sÄ brett vis jag förmÄtt försökt omfamna de olika uttryck som relationen tar sig. Intervjuerna redovisas som referat i berÀttande form, och de föregÄs av en översiktlig beskrivning av Koranen.Arbetet avslutas med en utvÀrderingsdiskussion dÀr jag konstaterar att arbetet Àr ofullstÀndigt dÄ jag ej kunnat belysa den företeelse som frÄgestÀllning avser pÄ ett begreppsligt vis. Slutligen sÄ redogör jag för en möjlig fortsÀttning..

BakgrundForskningen kring kvinnors historia började ta form under 1970-talet. Det forskningen visar Àr att det finns tvÄ inriktningar i genusforskningen, antingen kvinnohistoria bredvid manshistoria eller att man flÀtar ihop kvinnornas i mÀnnens historia. I de lÀromedel som finns pÄ skolorna idag omnÀmns frÀmst drottningar och religiösa kvinnor.SyfteSyftet med studien Àr att undersöka om lÀrare synliggör de bÄda könen. FrÄgestÀllningarna Àr vilka som stÄr i fokus i historieundervisningen och hur lÀrarna gör för att skapa ett helhetsperspektiv i undervisningen.MetodVi har anvÀnt intervju som metod, och har intervjuat fem lÀrare pÄ fyra olika skolor, inom samma kommun.ResultatVÄrt resultat visar att lÀrarna fortfarande har fokus pÄ kungar och krig i undervisningen men har med ett genusperspektiv i sin undervisning genom att undervisa kring folkets historia istÀllet för enbart makthavare. Resultatet visar ocksÄ att lÀrarna har för lite kunskaper kring genusperspektiv kopplat till historieundervisning.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how librarians and family historians experience their interaction at the reference encounter, what influences these views and how they affect the service; whether the family historians are aware of these views; which subject knowledge is needed and how this knowledge affects work performance; if there is a need for continuing education, and finally, if the family historians themselves can work as a resource for the library or the librarians? The thesis consists of three parts; in the first a theoretical frame was constructed around the concepts service, continuing education, subject knowledge and attitudes. Role theory was used as a theoretical background to show how expectations influence professional roles. The second part consists of the results given from the qualitative interviews with librarians and surveys with family historians that were performed. In the last part a discussion from the theoretical and empirical information earlier received was made.

The aim of this thesis is to discuss selected parts of cataloguing both from a practical and a theoretical viewpoint. It presents the basic grounds for cataloguing of printed as well as non-printed materials. The focus lies on the main entry heading and its author/title problem concerning film. The thesis theoretical part consists of an analysis of central documents dealing with the author concept from both a library- and information science perspective and a film science perspective. The practical part consists of interviews from two Swedish public libraries, which have different approaches on presenting films.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine readers? advice in weblogs - frequently modified web pages with a series of archived entries. We have chosen to study a specific kind of entry that contains information about a book of fiction- not for children and young adults - and the bloggers? comments regarding that same book. The entries are published in ten weblogs that all deal with literature and reading.

The aim of this study was to examine how children in ages 3 to 4 use the public library with the research questions: What does children?s, in ages between 3 and 4, information behavior look like when they visit a public library in leisure time with a parent? What is the nature of interaction between child and parent, child and the staff of the library, and between child and other visitors? What is the function of the cultural tools in relation to the children?s information behavior? The theoretical frame of reference consisted of Lev Vygotsky?s ?the zone of proximal development? and Roger SÀljö?s theory about using cultural tools. To answer the questions I have observed 4 children together with their mothers and siblings at a public library. From the result of the observations I found that every child had their own information behavior. Two of the children only used one kind of cultural tool ? books.

The aim of this thesis was to examine how role players experiences libraries and if the libraries are or can be an arena for activities that involves role play. A public library exists for everyone, but could nevertheless be viewed as a female sphere where women both borrow more books and visit the libraries program activities to a larger extent, compared to men. I asked the question whether men?s reason for choosing a different venue for information and culture was related to the libraries not being able to satisfy their needs. The theory of the thesis was Dorte Skot-Hansen, Casper Rasmussen Hvenegaard and Henrik Jochumsens model that states that the libraries can have four different functions and act as a venue for meetings, knowledge, inspiration and experiences.
