This master?s thesis attends to a debate in the Swedish daily press concerning the public library which arose after the Swedish Moderate Party?s publication of their cultural political document Kulturen 2.0. This document contains a number of standpoints, of which three directly concern the public library: charges on book loans, libraries on contract and politically Balanced purchase policy. In all, 28 articles are examined by means of an idea and ideological analysis. The purpose is to find out what is behind the conflicts surrounding attitudes about the public library's mission and activity in an era of needs for change.

The purpose with our study is to investigate in which way a public field of action has succeeded to make the economic management more effective and also find out which factors/activities that have contributed to get the result of the budget in balance. We also want to find out in which degree the Balanced scorecard (BSC) has contributed to the positive result of the budget. Method: We had started out from the qualitative method theory which is based on the hermeneutic theory, because we will interpret and understand. With this starting point we have chosen to use a case study with semi-standardised interviews supplemented with information from different documents, and to get the theoretic connection we have studied literature in the subject field. The analyse and even the theoretic connection have then started from, for this study, a special analyse model. Results: Througt systematic and target-concentrated management and through cooperated factors, with stress on a leadership that is both professional, visionary and un-combined, and there the staff´s is seen as a important resource, and there it is a clear strategy and objective to keep the cost of the activity within assigned budgetframe, has a public field of action, as the clinic of hab./rehab.

Swedish horse breeders have generally very few mares producing a few foals a year and the breeders have relatively few traditions, little knowledge and experience to breed foals successfully. It is therefore important to provide adequate information about new findings in horse nutrition. However, there is not much research about feeding the suckling foal to ensure a sound growth. Current feeding recommendations in the literature seems to be different. This gives a confusing message and the information is difficult to apply. This paper reviews some publications in the area of feeding the suckling and weaning foal. Most authors stress that it?s important to start feeding the foal early in life.

This thesis is a study of humidity at Knauf Danogips external plasterboard. The study is performed at the building project Kv. Maskinen in Jönköping in cooperation with NCC Construction AB and Knauf Danogips. The measuring was performed during five winter/spring months to see how the weather influenced the plasterboard.The measuring was performed at a small two-storied building and a larger fourstoried building. From the buildings` placement were a couple of measuring dots selected and to get a good result was the dots located in the four cardinal points.

Olika former av prestationsmått har sedan en tid tillbaka provats i kommuner. En av de modeller som kommuner har hämtat från privata företag är balanserat styrkort. Ett problem är huruvida en modell som är framtagen för privata företag direkt kan tillämpas inom kommuner trots de skillnader som finns mellan dessa verksamheter. Syftet med denna uppsats är att, ur ett ledningsperspektiv, öka förståelsen för hur en kommun kan utforma och använda sig av balanserat styrkort. Delsyftet är att identifiera vilka fördelar och nackdelar som kan uppstå vid användning av balanserat styrkort i en kommun.

Background: Previous studies have shown that intuition occurs in decision making in small enterprises. However, these studies have not illuminated which decision attributes leads to intuitive decision making.Purpose:The purpose with this study is to contribute with an increased understanding of which decision attributes leads managers in small enterprises to use intuition in decision making and why these decisions attributes have an impact on the role of intuition. The follow-ing research question will be answered in our study: Which decision attributes leads to intui-tive decision making in small enterprises, and why?Method: To answer the research question we have conducted semi structural interviews with managers in small enterprises to achieve a deeper understanding of the role of intuition. We have also used a method called Visual Card Sorting as a complement to the semi structural interviews.Result/conclusion: The result of our study indicates that the relevance and the uncertainty of a decision have the greatest significance in the use of intuition in decision making in small enterprises.

Dagens företag befinner sig i en föränderlig omvärld som kräver flexibilitet, kreativitet och innovationsförmåga från dess aktörer. Bland annat utifrån den kritik som framkommit mot traditionell ekonomistyrning, har ett flertal prestationsmätningssystem vuxit fram, varav det balanserade styrkortet är ett. Att utforma och implementera ett balanserat styrkort är ett komplext och resurskrävande arbete som är mycket avgörande för funktionen. Men att följa upp och uppdatera det är än betydelsefullare. Ett balanserat styrkort som inte följs upp, är till slut ett balanserat styrkort utan funktion.

Det finns många faktorer som kan påverka ett beslut om att adoptera en ny styrmodell. Dessa faktorer kan vara allt från internt upplevda problem till att olika externa aktörer påverkar organisationer i valet av styrmodell. Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom en kvalitativ studie identifiera viktiga faktorer bakom en kommuns beslut att adoptera det balanserade styrkortet och vilka förväntningar som finns på den nya styrmodellen. Syftet med uppsatsen är även att genom en kvantitativ studie undersöka om det finns samband mellan motiven till adoption av det balanserade styrkortet och hur tillfredställda organisationer blir med den nya styrmodellen. Uppsatsen utfördes med det analytiska metodsynsättet som basmetodsynsätt och aktörssynsättet som komplementär.

Den här studien belyser hur åtta chefer i Göteborgs Stad använde det balanserade styrkortet som styrmedel. Inledningsvis presenteras styrning allmänt och sedan beskrivs verksamhetsstyrning och balanserat styrkort djupare. Syftet var att ta reda på hur chefer använder det balanserade styrkortet för att styra verksamheten och vår forskningsfråga lyder: ?På vilket sätt använder chefer i Göteborgs Stad det balanserade styrkortet för att styra verksamheten??I det teoretiska avsnittet behandlas olika teorier om styrning samt det balanserade styrkortet. Dessa utgör vårt verktyg för att analysera de insamlade data som vi har fått fram genom intervjuer med olika chefer.

Purpose: The study aims to analyze how companies can learn from past communications in critical situations and during corporate crisis, and see how they use this knowledge in the management of subsequent critical situations and corporate crisis. Furthermore, the media is analyzed to see how the newspaper industry chooses to reflect an organization and its actions, and also to see if the pressure through articles in the newspapers has an impact on the extent of the situation.Method: A qualitative case study of Sweden?s largest food company, ICA Sverige AB, where knowledgeable people in media management within the company are interviewed using semi-structured interviews, with support of quantitative methods by a collection of articles from the news press.Theories: Concepts, theories and models in crisis management and communication has been applied to relevant data. These comprise Knowledge Management, a communication template in crisis management, The Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and the model Content of crisis communication.Empiric: Based on the quantitative data consisting of articles from four Swedish news sources: Svenska Dagbladet, Dagens Nyheter, Aftonbladet and Expressen, a semi-structured interview guide was created and carried out with the person within ICA who possesses knowledge of the subject area.Conclusion: ICA has during the priod studied exhibited to have used the concept of Knowledge Management in the development of their routines regarding product recalls at product defects. The relationships between ICA and the media have shown improvements, which has resulted in ICA percieve the media coverage as Balanced, true and fair..

In todays society sports has become a major part in people?s life, with the emerging of professionalization it?s become a thriving business that generates big money. An outcome of this evolution of sports as meant that most athletes must put more time and energy in to their athletics to have a chance to reach their dreams of being a professional athlete. And if an athletes dream get cut short somehow, the process of moving out of sport has been shown to somtimes be a difficult process for athletes that don?t have anything to fall back on.

This Master's thesis in Library and Information Science aims to explore if personal patterns can be detected in web-searching. It is based on a study where the search sessions of nine test persons were video-recorded, transcribed into logs and analysed.A major objective was to find out whether there is a correlation between individual searchers' personal attributes and their web search behaviour. The logs were therefore compared with the test persons' results in a learning style test (Kolb's Learning Style Inventory) and with interview answers about information behaviour and personal background.While several patterns were indeed discovered, none of them turned out to be strictly personal. The nine test persons could be divided into five types of searchers: the purely analytic searcher; the generally analytic searcher; the Balanced searcher; the mixed searcher and the browser. All types of searchers were found to have the attribute learning style in common.

"Adoption - but at what price?" SOU 2003:49 is a state report with the purpose to investigate different aspects around international adoptions, which brings up and discusses what supports there is for adoptive families in Sweden. With this background and a special attention towards adoptive children's health conditions when arriving to their new country we decided to study the subject adoption. By interviewing different professionals and volunteers that work with adoptive families in Sweden the aim with this study was to acknowledge how they look upon the support the Swedish community offers for adoptive parents and also how they consider the knowledge about adoption among those who in their line of work can meet adoptive children is.
