Texture is an important soil property and accurate particle size analysis of soil texture is therefore crucial. There are a number of well-established and newly developed methods available for determining soil texture. In order to compare the results of these methods, the differences between them must be determined. The difficulties, problems and differences regarding texture class determination were examined through a study performed on forest soil samples. The study compared different methods (pipette, hydrometer and field methods) and two types of dispersing agents (sodium pyrophosphate and sodium hexametaphosphate (calgon)) commonly used for particle size analysis.

Renal dysplasi (RD) is a congenital chronic renal disease affecting young dogs. It is a rather common disease that occurs in a large number of dogs and in some breeds there is a familiar incidence or suspected hereditary background. Both the etiology and pathogenesis are still unknown, but a theory about the cause of RD is that the two components that form the kidney, the uretheric bud and the metanephrogenic blastema, don´t interact normally in the embryo. Undersökningens syfte var att undersöka gymnasielevers motivation till ämnet Idrott och Hälsa. Studien har utgått från en kvantitativ forskningsansats där enkätformulär tillämpats vid utförandet. Insamlad data kommer från 82 respondenter, valda efter en strategisk urvalsprincip. Med anledning av att antalet respondenter är begränsat ämnar studien bara att uttala sig som de respondenter som också ingår i studien. Studien har sin teoretiska grund i Self Determination Theory (SDT) som förklarar motivation utifrån det inre värdet i en aktivitet, inre motivation, eller från yttre faktorer i omgivningen, yttre motivation, eller en total avsaknad av motivation, amotivation.

A system for sampling of alcohol and aldehyde from diluted exhaust gases from vehicles powered by ethanol has been developed and tested. The major part of the work has been research of earlier work in the field and the construction of the sampling system.The part of the system constructed for the measurement of alcohol has been shown to work, however, more test should be performed. The part of the system constructed for the measurement of aldehyde was tested parallel to a commercially available system, based on the same principle of measurement, and has been shown to work well.Determination of the concentration of gaseous ethanol using a FID has shown the since earlier known fact that a FID is not able to measure a correct concentration of ethanol. Furthermore it has been shown that high concentrations of gaseous ethanol can not be kept in a bag more than a few minutes without a substantial decrease of the measured concentration..

Människan blir allt mer hälsomedveten i dagens samhälle, hon går till friskvårdsanläggningar för att motionera i grupp och styrketräna. Att finna motivationen till att träna kan dock vara svårt. Denna studies syfte var att undersöka vad som motiverar deltagarna under ett gruppträningspass. Genom ett kvalitativt tillvägagångssätt används semistrukturerade intervjuer för att ta del av intervjupersonernas unika upplevelser under träningspassets gång. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt användes i studien Self Determination Theory.

Project management has been a very popular way of conducting information system development in the past years. Among all major information system developing companies today, almost everyone work in some form of project management. Our objective with this study has been to find out if there are any problems that begin in the early part of the project. Problems that, if they aren?t solved directly, can become bigger problems later on in the project.

This is a qualitative study where the purpose was to investigate what professionals experience to be the reason for an individual to become addicted to gambling and continues to gamble even though it leads to negative consequences. The purpose was also to investigate what the professionals experienced was of importance for an individual to recover from a gambling addiction. The study was based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with knowledgeable individuals in the field. The main findings of the study were that the motivation for individuals with a gambling problem to continue gamble was that they saw gambling as the solution to their problems by winning back lost money. It was common that gambling was an escape from anxiety, guilt, shame, and other gambling-related problems such as financial liabilities.

Labour market coaching (Swedish:?Jobbcoachning?) was a comprehensive political project for the Swedish labour market, with the aim of helping unemployed individuals to enter the labour market. Between 2009-2014  the labour market coaching was carried out by private companies through governmental regulations. This thesis aims to find out (1) what coaching activities the coaches used, and (2) how these coaching activities can be understood in the light of previous scientific research. My results consist of interviews conducted with six labour market coaches.

I denna rapport behandlas verktyget FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis), dess användning och genomförande på identifierade komponenter som ingår i elmotorer tillverkade hos ABB LV Motors i Västerås. Målet med detta arbete har varit att ge lärdom om metoden FMEA på företaget för att möjliggöra användandet av verktyget bland medlemmarna på företaget och att vi implementerar verktyget på befintlig motor för att analysera de felsätt som kan uppstå. Eftersom ABB just nu har ett pågående projekt med en ny motor kan våra slutgiltiga felanalyser även ge dem information om vilka ändringar och åtgärder som kan vara till nytta vid utformningen av den nya motorn.Efter två veckors praktik i verkstan och en grundlig genomgång av företagets reklamationer kunde vi avgränsa arbetet genom att identifiera de komponenter som analyserna skulle genomföras på. Efter en genomgång tillsammans med våra handledare på företaget kom vi fram till att utföra våra analyser på fem komponenter, två av dem framstod som mycket kritiska som upptäcktes redan vid genomgång av reklamationerna.Komponenterna som vi har analyserat är:1. Syfte: Vårt syfte är att analysera hur inre- och yttre motivation (Self-Determination Theory) och användning av tidsplaneringsverktyg (Time Management) interagerar inom Svensk Fastighetsförmedling. Vidare syftar studien till att analysera de eventuella kopplingar mellan Self-Determination Theory och Time Management som studien frambringar.Metod: Studien är av kvantitativ art och med grund i tidigare forskning utformades en enkät med totalt 38 frågor. Enkäten har konstruerats i Google Drive och distribuerats till respondenterna via e-post genom vår kontaktperson på Svensk Fastighetsförmedling. Totalt erhölls 303 enkätsvar, vilket innebar en svarsfrekvens på 38 %. Enkätsvaren har analyserats med hjälp av en korrelationsanalys och en faktoranalys.

Denna uppsats syftar till identifiera och förklara sambandet mellan belöning, inre motivation, yttre motivation och arbetstillfredsställelse med teamprestationer vid produktinnovation. För att kunna uppnå vårt syfte har vi utfört en surveyundersökning genom telefonenkäter med 69 företag. Vi fann ett positivt samband mellan teamarbete och teamprestationer vid skapande av innovationer. Vi fann också att belöningar ökar chansen för en individ i ett team att bli arbetstillfredsställd vilket leder till en framgångsrik innovationsprocess. Om företag ska lyckas skapa framgångsrika innovationer måste de ge innovatörer incitament i form av belöningar vilket ger upphov till arbetstillfredsställelse och en mer framgångsrik innovationsprocess..
