Sense of coherence amongst employees with reduced work-capacity at Samhall.Sanela Jakupovic TrostekScientific essay in public health, 15 hp, Academy of Health and promoting Working Life, University of GävleThe aim of this study was to examine how employees at Samhall who has reduced work-capacity experienced their sense of coherence (SOC). The study includes gender, age and civil status in the analysis. The study includes 34 respondents which are divided as 20 men and 14 women. To measure SOC a quantitative method with a 29 standardized questionnaire was used.It was found that the employees felt, in general, low SOC, which means more difficult adaptation to their life situation. Noteworthy is that 70 % of the men in this study showed low SOC compared to 35,7 % of the women.One conclusion that can be drawn is that within Samhall, it showed that women had a higher SOC mean value than men which means they are more equipped to handle, understand and find meaning in their work life. Keywords: Antonovsky, Samhall, disability, work-capacity, sense of coherence (SOC).

AbstractBackground: Relation means the relationship between two parts. By creating a good relation between nurse and patient you can conduce a better caring. Aim: The aim of the study was to illustrate the relation within palliative care from nurse- patient perspective. Method: The study is a literature review where ten articles were analysed with qualitative content analysis. Results: The findings showed that knowledge, communication, continuity, silence and availability were the most important thing for the nurse in the relationship.

From a democratic point of view the existing organisation with municipality sections in the city of Malmö, Sweden will be examined. The matter of how an alternative organisation should be structured will also be discussed. Two incompatible models of democracy theories will be arranged: libertarian democracy and participation democracy. The intentions with the reform were primary to increase the civic participation. By applying those values that are used to characterize participation democracy it will be shown whether the local participation has actually increased.

Antalet äldre i världen ökar och den äldre befolkningen blir allt friskare. Trots detta är det sällsynt att äldre klarar sig själva till livets slut. Då det inte är möjligt att tillgodose de äldres behov i hemmet har samhället ansvar att erbjuda plats på särskilt boende. Beroende av andra innebär inte att de äldres livskvalitet behöver reduceras och det har påvisats att ökad ålder och låg livskvalitet inte är sammankopplade med varandra. Syftet med studien var att beskriva vad livskvalitet är för äldre på särskilt boende.

AbstractThis thesis handles the subject about emergency preparedness. The cases that are chosen are Sweden and the tsunami catastrophe and Great Britain with the bombings in London. The purpose with this case study is to reveal what factors that are important for an adequate emergency preparedness plan by studying Sweden?s and Great Britain?s emergency preparedness plans and how they handled the two catastrophes. The questions for the report are as follows:1.

Syftet med föreliggande systematiska litteraturstudie var att belysa brister i omvårdnaden av patienter med borderline personlighetsstörning (BPS) och vad bristerna beror på. Vid Högskolan Dalarnas fulltextdatabas Elin och PsycInfo söktes vetenskapliga fulltextartiklar som omfattade BPS och omvårdnad. Av 35 artiklar valdes 14 ut varav 9 kvalitativa och 5 kvantitativa. Dessa artiklar kvalitetsprövades med 28 kriterier från granskningsmallar modifierade efter Forsberg och Wengström (2003), Willman, Stoltz och Bahtsevani (2006). Av artiklarna framkom att den viktigaste aspekten i omvårdnaden utgjordes av personalens patientbemötande.

The natural disasters of recent time have caused the people of Sweden to donate very large amounts of money to different fundraising organizations. With this in mind, we found it interesting to examine the extent of disclosure in the annual reports of the Swedish fundraising organizations. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify which factors that influences the extent of disclosure of accounting principles in the annual reports of Swedish fundraising organizations. To fulfill this purpose we conducted a content analysis of 149 annual reports from Swedish fundraising organizations. To help us explain the levels of disclosure we applied stakeholder theory, institutional theory and legitimacy theory.

The reason for finding out what estate owners think of the forest websites is to meet needs of the forest owners who are customers of AB Karl Hedin. Marketing and use of the Internet for information search for products and services are two key concepts in this study. To be able to perform the study, a telephone survey was made to find out what estate owners want and what they are missing on a forest site. The survey can be summarized at following conclusion: The marketing of AB Karl Hedin website must be stronger The forest owners want more information on forest business, prices and forestry services.

Det är sjuksköterskans ansvarsområde att uppmärksamma, förebygga och behandla malnutrition. Ädelreformen, där ansvaret för äldre vårdtagare har flyttats från landstingsnivå till kommunnivå, har bland annat inneburit att tillgången till sjuksköterskor i hemsjukvården är liten i förhållande till antal vårdtagare. Detta tillsammans med låg kunskapsnivå om nutrition hos omvårdnadspersonalen om nutrition samtidigt med stor vårdtyngd, har lett till att brister i omvårdnaden inom nutrition kan fortgå en längre tid innan de uppdagas. Syftet var att undersöka sjuksköterskans förmåga att uppmärksamma och åtgärda malnutrition hos äldre vårdtagare inom hemsjukvården och särskilt boende. En litteraturstudie med 20 vetenskapliga artiklar utfördes.

The aim of this study is to examine how the teachers in year F and 1 view their teaching of mathematics from an individually adapted perspective. I have based my research on different factual study books within the education for younger children?s learning of mathematics, and have from an individually adapted perspective made a comparison between theory and practice. The empirical data has been obtained through interviews with six teachers, three pre-school teachers and three teachers, working with pupils in year F and 1.

AbstractParticiapation from the citizens in a democratic society is one of the ground pilars for the function of the democratic society. The goal for the Swedish contemporary democracy is to complement the representative democracy with different kinds of participatory activities for the citizens. But is it working? The purpose of this essay is to exame the problems that might occur when the citizens participate in a wider extent than just voting. AbstractThe Swedish agricultural organisation, LRF, stands in front of many changes and the work with the changes in the organisation has caused some conflicts at the top. Is it like Michels say that it's a few people at the top that rules? The case with LRF shows to be something different, since the president Caroline Trapp was re-elected. The election committee proposed a new president, but the assembly had another opinion and re-elected Caroline Trapp. This shows that the opinions at the top were not the same as among the members of the organisation and the election committee couldn?t rule over them.In this essay I try to understand what kind of organisation LRF is and what made this case special.

AbstractPurpose/Aim: The aim of this essay is to examine the democratic potential of Forum Games.The main focus of the essay is if working with forum games can help the participators to better communicate their thoughts and ideas and through this take better part in a democratic society.Material/Method: The material to the study has been gathered through three interviews with persons using forum games in their work and one enquiry with 21 students in Teacher education at Uppsala University, who had recently tried the method for the first time.Main results: The conclusion of the study is that forum game has a democratic potential. Ability to communicate is important for a democratic society and participating in forum games can improve the participators communication abilities. This is an examination that investigates how parental guidebooks advise parents on how to solve conflicts between them and their children. The main purpose of this essay is to examine what these parental guidebooks say about rebuke. The following four questions will help to answer the main investigation. These questions are:What do different parental guidebooks write about rebuke?What do parental guidebooks consider to be the goal of rebuke?Which are the consequences of rebuke according to the parental guidebooks?Are there any clear patterns and connections that can be shown?To find an answer to these four questions, I have used eight parental guidebooks.

Äldres rädsla för att bli utsatt för brott är ett relativt outforskat område. Aktuell forskning om äldres rädsla sammanställs genom statistik för hur många äldre som känner rädsla, men det fattas ett berättande perspektiv där man lyfter fram vad de äldre har att säga om sina erfarenheter och upplevelser av rädsla för att bli utsatt för brott. Syftet för denna studie är att undersöka vad äldre personer har att säga om fenomenet rädsla för att bli utsatt för brott och ta reda på hur det ser ut och påverkar deras vardag.Studien har en fenomenologisk ansats med livsvärldsteorin som utgångspunkt. Datainsamlingen har skett genom öppna intervjuer. Resultatet visar att fenomenet äldres rädsla för att bli utsatt för brott visar sig som att vara riskanalytiskt medveten.
