Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att göra en jämförelse mellan två olika Healingmetoder som förekommer inom den så kallade neoshamanismen och i New Age sammanhang. I min undersökning som handlar om shamansk Healing och reikiHealing i dagens Gästrikland har jag intervjuat två utövare av dessa metoder.Mina   frågeställningar är:Vad menas med Healing för de båda informanterna?Vilka kan utöva dessa metoder enligt dem?Vilka hjälpmedel använder man sig av och finns det någon form av andekontakt?Vilka är i behov av Healing enligt dem?Varför uppstår sjukdom och kan man bota med hjälp av Healing?Vilken världsbild och människosyn har man?Vilka skillnader och likheter finns det mellan de båda personernas syn på Healing?.

Uppsatsen handlar om tre informanter som intervjuats angående sin syn på alternativa behandlingar och alternativa diskurser i kontrast till dominerande diskurser inom medicin och samhälle. Viktiga avsnitt rör till exempel sådant som vad är Healing, hur kan en behandling gå till, grundläggande synsätt i alternativa diskurser och hur man ser på sjukdom..

Injuries to the suspensory ligament represent a huge problem in equine veterinary medicine. As many of the affected horses are elite-competition athletes, there are high expectations on veterinarians to make these horses fully functional again. The suspensory ligament has several features which makes the Healing process complicated. So far no treatment has shown to optimize the Healing process. This has led to the testing of many new treatment methods, in order to find a consensus for the injury.

Wounds on horses are common and sometimes difficult to treat. The wounds are often big and could be discovered too late for primary sutures, which have to be applied within 8 hours from time of accident, before bacteria has been able to infiltrate the surrounding tissue. The Healing is often complicated by delayed Healing and wound infection with consequences like phlegmone, fistulation and proud flesh formation.To avoid these consequences, the traditional practice has been to administer systemic antibiotics alone, systemic antibiotics in combination with topical antibiotics or topical antibiotics alone. Because few antibiotics can be used in horses, is it important to household with the few substances that are available. In veterinary medicine today, the increasing resistance amongst pathogenic microbes such as MRSA presents a growing problem.

den här upsatsen kommer att diskutera en helhetssyn som delas av mina informanter vilka arbetar som komplementärmedicinska terapeuter. Dessa terapeuter ser på kroppen ur tre tre olika vinklar. De upplever att människan har en fysisk, en emotionell och en själslig del som behöver ses över under en behandling och jag finner att denna syn på människan delar de med exempelvis shamaner. Jag kommer att jämnföra denna typ av helhetssyn med den västerländska medicinens helhetssyn för att se vad eller om det finns någon skillnad..

Alnarp?s Healing Garden is a place for rehabilitation as well as an ongoing multidisciplinary scientific research experiment. The garden is built on research results from the disciplines of Landscape architecture, Environmental Psychology and Garden Therapy. In the garden, people diagnosed with burnout syndromes are being rehabilitated. The participants need safe and calm environments which activate their bodies self Healing systems. Theories show that water as an element, per se, increases the observer?s preference for an environment.

In the nurse's profession ulcer care is a common nursing intervention. Being inserted in methods of treatment and updated with evidence-based knowledge is therefore an important part of the nurse's work. Chronic ulcers are expensive for health care and occupy a lot of time. Knowledge is therefore important for ulcer Healing, for the patient comfort and to reduce costs. The aim of the study was to illustrate the nurse's knowledge of nursing interventions of chronic ulcer.

Swedish studies have shown that more people than expected have problems with leg ulcers and that the yearly cost for treatment per patient is approximately 26 500kr. Since the elderly population is on the rise, there is a need to highlight this growing problem, to make sure that proper assessment tools are used and to improve the standard of care given to patients with leg ulcers. The aim was to show what a difference the nurse can make to patients with leg ulcers. With all types of wounds it is imperative to establish if there is any underlying reasons since certain illnesses can cause more wounds or delay the Healing process. The doctor is responsible for making the diagnosis and to prescribe the correct treatment whereas the nurse?s responsibility is for the nursing care and its documentation.

I urbana miljöer har antalet stressrelaterade sjukdomar ökat. En Healing garden eller rehabiliteringsträdgård är speciellt designad för att minska stress och öka återhämtning. Syftet med arbetet är att identifiera de stressreducerande designprinciperna för en Healing garden och undersöka hur de kan användas i en omgestaltning av en stressig plats i staden för att dämpa stress och möjliggöra återhämtning för besökarna. Arbetet avgränsas till helande trädgårdar med syfte att motverka stress. Det finns inget svar på varför en vistelse i en helande trädgård har en återhämtande effekt men det finns studier som visar att de har det. Olika teorier presenteras, bland annat att vi människor evolutionärt sett är mer anpassade till ett liv i naturen och att det därmed har en lugnande effekt. En annan teori är att välmående kommer som följd av aktivitet i trädgården. Vi valde att omgestalta Uppsala Resecentrum eftersom det är en plats där många människor dagligen passerar och som vi upplever som stressig.

Mammary gland neoplasia is one of the most common diseases in the bitch and the most common neoplastic disease. More than 13 % of the female dog population in Sweden suffers from mammary tumors during their lifetime. The disease can affect bitches in all ages but most often middle aged and older dogs. Some breeds such as Poodle and English Setter are predisposed for the disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate if it is possible to improve the post surgical Healing process by using a pressure pad.

As reptiles are becoming more common as patients in veterinary clinics, there is a need for creating new procedures regarding the care of exotic pets. The aim of this study was to develop a wound care routine adapted to reptiles, which can be used independently by a veterinary nurse due to the absence of prescription drugs or surgical techniques. The study was conducted by compiling the available research regarding wound care in reptiles, as well as research from related fields. The result indicates that polyurethane films and chlorhexidine-alcohol may advantageously be used on these patients. Hydrocolloid dressings and silver sulfadiazine dressings have adverse effects on wound Healing and should not be used routinely in reptiles.

This project is a deepening in how the space in psychiatric care setting can promote and improve thepatient?s well-being. The aim with this study was to create a manual for architects and the care to takepart of. This would consist of different aspects of how the space can be created for a more secure,care taking and Healing space. With help of the manual the study would continue by creating a Healingpatient room in a psychiatric clinic.The main questions were; can we create an environment which improves the Healing process for thementally ill? What are the factors that we need to consider to creating a room for psychiatric care?This study only looks at the patient room, the common room and how the environment can affect theiremotional and physical well-being.By taking part of already made studies in this subject or similar, making my own studies by visitingpsychiatric departments and exploring how the spaces there contribute or not contribute to the Healingprocess of the patient.

Wound care of the horse?s distal part of the leg is challenging. Due to that distal limb wounds are easily enlarged, infected and generally heal slower than wounds on the body of the horse, the need for improved wound nursing arise. One way of improving wound nursing is to evaluate new ways of Healing treatment. In this study, evaluation was made of a new product consisting of lactic acid bacteria and honey.
