Utvärdering av ModFix : Byggnation av modulära fixturer integrerat i Process Simulate

Syftet med detta projekt är att utvärdera ModFix som verktyg och arbetsmetoden för att skaps Fixturer med ModFix. ModFix är ett verktyg som är integrerad i Siemens simuleringsmiljön Process Simulate och används för att skapa modulära Fixturer. Målsättningen med arbetsmetoden där Fixturer skapas med ModFix är att ledtiden och mantimmarna för att skapa Fixturer ska reduceras med 50 % i jämförelse med Volvo Cars nuvarande arbetsmetod där Fixturer skapas med Catia V5.ModFix-verktyget består av tre funktioner. Dessa funktioner är; Configuration Administrator, Fixture Designer och Modular Fixture Mapping Report. Configuration Administrator är ModFix´s administrationsverktyg och används för att skapa de fixturbaser och fixturkonfigurationer som senare används för att skapa modulära Fixturer med Fixture Designer.

Fixturutveckling : Utveckling och konstruktion av fixtur förskärande bearbetning

This thesis has been performed at International Aluminum Casting AB in Eskilstuna,Sweden.International Aluminum Casting is currently working with a number of improvementsin their production in order to achieve their vision of being the leading aluminum foundry in Sweden. As a step in their improvement efforts, focus was directed ondeveloping the company's Fixtures for machining.Efforts were focused on two main objectives: to develop a complete proposal on aFixture which leads to a more rational use of an assigned part and also form general design advice for development of Fixtures in the future.During the work progress, discussions have been made with experts at International Aluminum Casting within the field of Fixture design. The objective was to obtain sufficient knowledge about the underlying problems with the current Fixture for the part. At this stage of the thesis, a number of essential criteria for Fixture design were produced. Information and inspiration were obtained by examining the company?s currently developed Fixtures.After gathering the necessary information the process of developing three different Fixture concepts started.

The project, Glowtest Fixture, has been carried out to and in collaboration with MSA SordinLtd. MSA Sordin Ltd produces and sells ear protector and is at present a supplier on theworld market. Glowtest Fixture is a product for glow testing off detailed components in oneear protector. MSA Sordin Ltd sends today away your products for testing what is anexpensive aspect in their development. Automatisering av flexibel fixtur

This thesis was conducted at Linköping University and SAAB Aerostructures, Linköping, and focuses on the automation of flexible fixturing in machining applications. At Linköping University a project called "Koofix" is conducted with support from Strategiska stiftelsen and several manufacturing industries including SAAB Aerostructures. The purpose of this project is to develop a more cost-effective, flexible, technique for fixation of workpieces during processing and assembly.Fixtures are an important part during the machining process, especially if you process the parts with high accuracy. Today a large number of Fixtures are used at SAAB and they would prefer to reduce the number of Fixtures by using flexible Fixtures instead. SAAB uses one Fixture for each article and this result in a high Fixture cost and it also takes time to design and construct a new Fixture.There are several advantages with using a flexible Fixture such as that you can process workpieces with different length, height and thickness in the same Fixture.

Åtkomststudie för robotiserad svetsning av flygmotordetalj

The aim of this thesis was to investigate if the robotized welding method FSW (Friction Stir Welding) could be applied for joining a rotating structure in an aero engine at Volvo Aero Corporation. FSW is expected to introduce less defects than today?s welding methods and could therefore be suitable for critical aero components. The material is the nickel based alloy Inconel 718, however a material experimentation is outside the scope of this report.The main goal of this study is to verify if the ESAB ROSIO robot based FSW-system has a suitable work space to be able to weld the rotating structure, and if the welding tool has accessibility to the joints. The FSW-process needs a rigid Fixture, and a number of fix-ture concepts are presented based on a proposed weld sequence.

Flexibla fixturer i bearbetande maskiner

This thesis was conducted at Linköping University and Saab Aerostructures DPS, Linköping, and focuses on the possibilities of flexible fixturing in machining applications. The thesis is part of the research project "Koofix", which is collaboration between Linköping University and a number of companies.The thesis is aimed towards small batch production which, for Saab Aerostructures DPS, means diverse part geometry and that parts are manufactured in very small numbers, sometimes just one piece. The result of this is that expensive dedicated Fixtures are made for most parts. By introducing more flexible fixturing methods to this kind of production the cost of Fixtures and tooling will be reduced, and make the production more efficient.New flexible fixturing methods has been presented and evaluated through the thesis, which has resulted in three different concepts. These concepts have been the result of literature screening and study of current manufacturing process at Saab Aerostructures DPS.

Konstruktion och byggnation av testfixtur för 10Gbit/s transpondermoduler

This thesis for the Master of Science degree was performed at Solectron Corporation in Norrköping. The background for the thesis was a need to develop and build two test Fixtures to automatize testing and adjusting of transmitter modules (TX-Fixture) and receiver modules (RX-Fixture) which are head devices in DWDM-systems. The basic elements for the test Fixtures are: Test board, switch board and DC/DC board. The main function of the test board is to handle communication between the transmitter and receiver modules and supply voltage to these modules. The test board was insufficient and modified with a microprocessor to handle the communication between the PC and the receiver module.

Mekanisk integration av en IR-detektor i en Stirlingkylare

The master thesis ?Mechanical Integration of an IR-detector in a Micro Cooler? has beenperformed at FLIR Systems AB in Danderyd. FLIR Systems is a world leader in the design,manufacture and marketing of thermal imaging camera systems.The thesis project is divided into to two areas, Production Method and Noise.The Production Method concerns the positioning of a detector on the cold finger within the IRcamera.The detector has to be positiond with very high accuracy at the center of the cold finger,so it can be placed in line with the optical axis to avoid movement of the picture during zooming.The positioning of the detector is at present done with the help of specially designed guides on aplate on top of the cold finger. The design workes well but the special machining needed for thisplate is very expensive.The goal concerning the production method was to derive a new more cost effective method forthe assembling and positioning of the detector on the cold finger by replacing the guides on theplate with a reusable equipment or some other alignement operation.Several concept ideas have been generated with the help of concept generation methods in theform of concept classification trees and concept combinational tables. Two of these conceptswere selected to be further refined.

This Master of Science thesis was a part of Pharmadule Emtungas project to construct a mobile automated cell for welding of carbon steel pipe (Heating, Ventilation and Sanitation). Pharmadule Emtunga is using a modular building concept for building pharmaceutical factories. The modules contain these pipes. The goal of the thesis was to present concepts for technical solutions regarding welding methods and Fixtures for the cell. Conceptual models for the cell were made with aid of CAD software.

The aim of our study is to ascertain whether a hanging suspension fluorescentlamp for a private home environment is going to be attractive for a largeaudience. We want to open up for new uses of fluorescent lamps as lightsources.The main approach in this work is how to design a Fixture with fluorescentlamps as a light source that will meet the requirements and requests of thehome environment could look like. At the same time we want to make a newimpression of how a fluorescent light source.Primarily we used a quantitative method, but this was rejected after a pilotstudy. Instead we used a qualitatively based method in the sense that weconducted a group interview as well as individual interviews.Based on data from the interviews and our preliminary work a prototype wasbuilt. This prototype is a fluorescent Fixture equipped with 2x14W T5fluorescent lamps, dimmed separately.

Modern milk production have come a long way when it comes to accommodating the nutritional and physiological needs of the animals, but unfortunately the behavioural and psychological needs of cows and heifers are often left unfulfilled. A long time for eating is beneficial for the digestion and also gives the cattle something to do and decreases the risks for developing abnormal behaviours. An important factor that influences eating- and ruminating time is the particle size of the roughage. The aim of the study was to find out if particle size influences the behaviour of dairy heifers, in particular with regard to eating behaviour and abnormal behaviours. The study was conducted at Uddetorp farm high school in Skara. Forty-two heifers of the breeds SR and SF were housed in 8 slatted floor pens.

Analys och framtagning av algoritm för rodermätning

Arbetet är ett utredningsarbete som går ut på att försöka lokalisera felkällor och göra förbättringar på en testutrustning som mäter rodervinklar på akterdelen på en robot. Rapporten innehåller en översiktlig bild över den tidigare metoden och dess felkällor som hittas vid test av den tidigare metoden. Utredningen utmanar också många utav antagandena som är gjorda för beräkningarna av den tidigare metoden. Detta utförs för att kunna bekräfta eller dementera antagandena. Detta görs i form av matematiska modeller som testar olika delar av metoden.

Flygplanstillverkning : Fixturkoncept till robotgradning

Volvo Aeros flygmotortillverkning i Trollhättan har infört ett antal nya detaljvarianter i produktionen. Detta har medfört att den robotcell som är avsedd att utföra en avgradningsoperation är i behov av uppdatering av både hårdvara och mjukvara. Denna rapport följer framtagningen av fixturkoncept som möjliggör att robotcellen kan användas även till de nya detaljerna. De förslag som arbetats fram sträcker sig från enklast möjliga till mer avancerade och nytänkande funktioner. Samtliga funktioner och koncept har genomgått gallringar i ett flertal steg.
