This paper presents an analysis of history textbooks used in schools in Sweden and Norway. The intention of the research was to study how the history textbooks describe communism and communistic dictatorship mainly during the cold war. The result of this study is that there were no big differences between Swedish and Norwegian history textbooks, but there are, however, some differences in how communism was described between the authors and also over time. Mostly, the books that were written in the post cold war period were somewhat more critical to communism in the eastern Europe (even thought they mainly handled with Stalin´s communism. Sammanfattning Denna studie redovisar resultatet av en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning angående muntlig examination inom vuxenutbildningen. Syftet med studien var att undersöka användandet av muntlig examination vid slutprov av kurser inom den gymnasiala och grundläggande vuxenutbildningens Omvårdnadsprogram och Barn- och fritidsprogram. Intervjuerna genomfördes vid tre skolor där sammanlagt nio personer intervjuades. En skolledare och två lärare intervjuades vid respektive skola. Intervjumaterialet bearbetades genom två kategoriseringar.

The purpose of this thesis is to find out how gender roles are described in musical lyrics written for children. I used gender theories that describe how stereotypical gender roles are displayed in music and these theories were later compared with the songbooks I studied. The thesis is a qualitative study to detect masculine and feminine related differences in the texts. After having read, analyzed and compared over 200 songs I found that the stereotype notions of masculinity and femininity is reflected in songs. Society has transferred in this way normative values on to the children through the songs that teachers choose to sing in schools..

In 1989 the United States choose, after years of conflict, to carry out a military intervention in Panama, to remove Manuel Noriega, convicted for drug dealing and for threatening the lives of the Americans living in Panama. The aim of this study is to examine whether George H. W Bush?s arguments for the military intervention comply with the principles of the just war.The method chosen for this study is a qualitative literature study, based primarily on secondary data. It is a case study with two complementing theories, the theory of the just war and the world system theory.The result showed that the American intervention both can be justified and unjustified following the principles of the Just War Theory.

The topic for this essay is tutoring for nurses. The study is about nurses who work in a nursing home for the elderly and who want to get tutoring and more education. Qualitative method was used and twelve nurses who worked in a nursing home were interviewed. The interviews were taped and written down. Then relevant quotes were picked out of the text and placed into eight different themes.

This study is an analysis of a survey that harvester operators working for SCA Ångermanland Skogsförvaltning have been participating in. The purpose of this study is to try to show the harvester operators opinion about the forestry planning that SCA provides. Hopefully will this information lead to suggestion about what part of the forestry planning needs to be improved, if any is needed? Unfortunately only 30 / 60 questionnaire has been returned so no conclusion can be made, except about those who have answered the survey. The aim of this essay is to examine what happens when Veronica Roths Divergent-trilogy is read with a lutheran theological pre-understanding. Using reader-response theory and lutheran theology written for and in a post-modern context, three lutheran figures of thought are presented as one way of understanding the trilogy. The conclusion is that it is possible to reveal lutheran ideas concerning justification, guilt, forgiveness, mercy and self-sacrificing love in the Divergent-story. .

In this degree project I have studied how an anti-discrimination bureau can adapttheir online information to the target group ? immigrants who only have modestunderstanding of the Swedish language. This group is often subject of discriminationmatters, and therefore it?s important that they can take part of the information.To find answers to my questions I have studied different relevant theories, performeda readability analysis on the online information and have had qualitativeinterviews with representatives from the target group. I have also tested my rewrittentexts on both representatives and other readers.The result from my studies has shown that it is words that are the most difficult inthe current online information, while length and structure of the sentences are alsoof importance when it comes to the readability.

Undersökningen är genomförd på Patent- och registreringsverket och bygger på en enkätstudie bland verkets medarbetare (n = 140). Resultat av hierarkisk regressionsanalys visar att klimatfaktorer i hög grad kunde predicera trivsel, som i sin tur åtminstone partiellt medierade klimatets effekter på tre av de fyra arbetsattityderna, dock inte arbetsinlevelse. Slutsatsen blir att det finns ekonomiska argument för organisationer att främja trivseln på arbetsplatsen. Ett sådant arbete kan dock vara svårt att genomföra i praktiken, främst på grund av trivselns inneboende subjektivitet och mångtydighet..

The aim of this report is to give the reader insight into the development of theweb-based accounting application SuperBooky. Accounting is a complex task thatmany beginner entrepreneurs struggle with. The development of this application wastherefore focused on making accounting as convenient and as easy as possible. Theend product targets small enterprises and its functionality was designed with this inmind.To make sure that the application was designed in a user-friendly way, polls werecarried out among individuals with basic accounting knowledge.
