Since the end of the Cold War, foreign aid donors have been using political conditionality to promote human rights, democracy and good governance in recipient countries. This phenomenon has been analyzed and criticized, but mainly from a strictly empirical point of view. In this paper, the legitimacy of political conditionality is analyzed through a normative perspective based on the extrinsic value of efficiency. If the political conditions don?t result in a democratic development, including respect of human rights and good governance, they can not be justified.With at theoretical focus on the donors, based on the unequal relationship between donor and recipient, I am examining the donors? possibility and supposed will to use political conditions in development cooperation.

In this thesis I have done a discourse analysis of the documentary movie A Jihad for Love. A Jihad for Love came out 2007 and is directed by Parvez Sharma. The documentary movie is about homosexual Muslims and their jihad, struggle, for love and to be accepted in a world where they are barely recognized as a group. My aim of the thesis was to see how the movie portrays the persons who are in the film and their relationship to Islam and who gets access to the religion. I have also analyzed if Islam can be used to strengthen the sexual identity or if it works in the opposite way.

The purpose of this study was to examine how teachers practice Arne Tragetons theory of using computers as the first writing instrument in reading and writing development. We wanted to clarify how the work from using Tragetons theory was applied while investigating if and how other methods of reading and writing instruction were used. Our interest lays in how the teachers accomplished the knowledge of this theory and also how the choice of this approach came about. To investigate this we used interviews with a qualitative nature, where seven active teachers were interviewed. They worked in three different schools in years one to three, they were all women and had various long experiences of work on the computer writing tools.

Vardagslivets belastning har en stark påverkan på människors välbefinnande, men utbudet av reliabla och valida mätinstrument är inte tillräckligt stort. Syftet med föreliggande studie är att göra en systematisk utvärdering av Life Content Questionnaire (LCQ), en enkät baserad på Krav-Kontroll-Stöd-modellen avsedd att mäta generell belastning i vardagen. Undersökningsdeltagarna var 272 föräldrar; kvinnor och män boende i Stockholms kommun med minst ett barn 0-16 år. LCQs psykometriska egenskaper mättes både genom en kvantitativ och med en kvalitativ studie. Inledningsvis genomfördes reliabilitetsberäkningar och en jämförande statistisk analys mot andra stress- och utbrändhetsmått.

Aim: A business ratio is a measuring instrument that companies use in their financial report to show profit and progress. As it is today, there are no standards to follow that shows which business ratio to present in a companies annual report. Our aim with this report is to see if there are any trends in the use of business ratios by looking into how thirty growth companies are applying them.Method: To see what business ratios are used in practice, we have collected information from the thirty companies? annual reports. With help from the literature, we have created an understanding about the most frequently used business ratios.

Syftet med min studie var att skapa förståelse för om pedagoger i grundskolans tidigare år möjliggör en lärandemiljö på lika villkor för alla elever samt utveckla förståelse för hur de gör detta. Jag har gjort tre kvalitativa intervjuer med verksamma pedagoger inom grundskolans tidigare år samt två observationer. Min studie har baserats på dessa intervjuer, observationer och på tidigare forskning. Olika teoretiska perspektiv har använts som instrument för att analysera min studie. Pierre Bourdieu menar att den habitus som dominerar i klassen avgör hur undervisningen ser ut.

Syftet med arbetet är att ta reda på vilka kunskapsformer som kan synliggöras i Skolverkets kursplan för ämnet musik samt hur dessa kunskapsformer kan relateras till Skolverkets offentliga dokument kring bedömning och innehåll av musikämnet.Uppsatsen bygger på textanalys och litteraturstudier. Med metoden genomför jag en djupgående analys av dokumenten Kunskapsbedömning i skolan ? praxis begrepp, problem och möjligheter, Bedömning i yrkesämnen ? dilemman och möjligheter  samt ämnesplanen för instrument- eller sångkursen på gymnasieskolans estetiska program.Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkter utgörs av ett tredelat kunskapsperspektiv. I bakgrundskapitlet presenteras även perspektiv på bedömning och tillhörande metoder som används av yrkesverksamma lärare. I resultatdelen presenteras den analys som har gjorts  av Skolverkets texter om vad musikalisk kunskap innebär.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and to increase the understanding of the negotiation process between the public- and the private sector in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). I have chosen to explore the first ?real? PPP project in Denmark, the construction of Vildbjerg compulsory school in the municipality of Trehøje.This case study is based upon a qualitative method consisting of interviews with the leading negotiators from both sectors. Two different theoretical perspectives are used to construct the basis of the analysis - The Theory of Public-Private Partnership and Negotiation theory - and serve as a concept instrument.The result of the analysis indicates that the negotiators from the different sectors have problems to get out of their traditional roles as purchaser and contractor ? in PPP they should act like partners.

Who is the most typical woman in ELLE Sweden (2013)? In this study we investigated the typical woman represented in the Swedish fashion magazine ELLE (2013) for women. Does a typical woman exist in the magazine at all and if so ? in what words and roles is she described in? How is this woman perceived in relation to the male gender? Based on the theory of constructionism; that the gender (i.e. What is female versus male) is constructed in the society and that media has an affect on our physical and psychological well being as well as our behavior and thoughts, the investigation of the female gender representation in women magazines, was of great importance to us.

Youth unemployement in Sweden is at an all-time high, a fifth of all university and college students live in poverty and the number of young on welfare is increasing. This study attempts to answer the question of how youth deprivation has been made possible as a consequence of political action, focusing on youth unemployment.I critically examine the role of the Swedish government, the Swedish Labour Organisation (LO), and the various government departments through text analysis, in order to answer the question of how the current discourse on youth position in the labor market. Because youth unemployment is not an isolated phenomena the analysis covers several policy areas, such as education policy, labor market regulation and housing policy. I use discourse theories drawn from Laclau and Mouffe to expose how language is used as an instrument of political power.I conclude that the current situation is a result of policy choices where the young have fallen behind due to lack of political organization. Their situation is not problematized to the required degree and is often explained on an individual level rather than on a structural level..

I den interpersonella teorin menar man att varje människas framträdande relationserfarenheter finns representerade i något som blivit denna persons latenta relationsmönster eller schemata. Är dessa interpersonella mönster inkongruenta kan det leda till interpersonella problem och psykisk ohälsa. Enligt denna teori kan stimulerande relationer, som t ex i en gruppbehandling, leda till bättre kognitiv förmåga och mer kongruent interpersonellt mönster, vilket på sikt underlättar relaterande till andra. Uppsatsens syfte var att beskriva interpersonella mönster och problem hos ungdomar i en gruppbehandling i termer av två instrument: Central Relationship Questionnaire (CRQ) och Inventory of Interpersonal Problems (IIP). Resultaten visade hur ungdomarnas interpersonella mönster och problemprofiler såg ut före och efter behandlingstiden.

Bakgrund: Primärt Sjögrens syndrom (pSS) är en reumatisk sjukdom karaktäriserad av ögon- och muntorrhet samt påverkan på olika organ. En överväldigande trötthet är vanligt. En orsak till tröttheten kan vara ett behandlingsbart tillstånd såsom nedstämdhet. Tröttheten kan leda till nedsatt livskvalitet, arbetsförmåga och påverka relationer med familj och vänner.Syfte: Att kartlägga hur vanligt det är med trötthet i en grupp av patienter med pSS samt om tröttheten har något samband med nedstämdhet eller nedsatt livskvalitet.Metod: Sextiotvå patienter deltog i studien. Patienterna fick fylla i fyra instrument/enkäter angående trötthet, nedstämdhet och livskvalitet (VAS trötthet, ESSPRI, HADS, SF-36).

SummaryI have a great interest in bouzoukis and since I, during my education in guitar making, mainly have focused on building bouzoukis and other traditional folk instruments, I have chosen the bouzouki as the object of my degree project.In connection to the making of these instruments, I started to consider the construction of the bouzouki and why the bouzouki has such a characteristic sound.One of my theories is based on the fact that most bouzoukis are made with floating bridges instead of glued pinbridges. Do these types of bridges differ from each other tonally and if so, how much and in what way?To receive answers to my questions, I have built two identical bouzoukis with different types of bridges, one with a glued pinbridge and one with a floating bridge. I have been very precise in the making of these instruments, giving them the exact same dimensions and using material from the same piece of wood. This to make sure that the instruments should be as exactly alike as possible.After finishing the making of the bouzoukis, I arranged for a sound test where I let musicians play and listen to the instruments.

Estland och Lettland är Östersjöregionens minsta stater och de delar förutom geografi och storlek andra gemensamma kännetecken som exempelvis liknande historiska erfarenheter av att ha Ryssland som granne. Länderna bedriver även ett utvecklat säkerhetssamarbete. Estland och Lettland har emellertid valt olika säkerhetspolitiska lösningar för att hantera de hot som de står inför.Denna uppsats undersöker Estlands och Lettlands målsättningar för organiseringen med sina väpnade styrkor och med medlemskapen i Nato och EU, de medel som de väpnade styrkorna har till sitt förfogande, samt de hot som Estland och Lettland identifierar. Uppsatsen utgår från ett realistiskt teoriperspektiv.Utifrån jämförelsen mellan Estland och Lettland konstaterar uppsatsen att för båda länderna är det viktigt att aktivt delta i internationellt säkerhetssamarbete. Likaså är det för båda länderna viktigt att ha ett strategiskt partnerskap med USA.

Denna uppsats behandlar fondkommissionärers skadeståndsansvar ur ett kontraktuellt perspektiv. Kommission innebär att ena parten i ett avtalsförhållande åtar sig att i eget namn men för annans räkning köpa eller sälja varor, värdepapper eller annan lös egendom. En kommissionär som handlar med aktier eller andra finansiella instrument kallas för fondkommissionär. Vilket ansvar har en fondkommissionär som exempelvis försummar att utföra ett uppdrag åt en kommittent i rätt tid? Denna och liknande frågor angående fondkommissionärers skadeståndsansvar kommer att beröras i uppsatsen.
