System Andersson AB is a company located in Jönköping that works with developing computer systems for the mechanical engineering industry. As of today, when this report is written, the company is working on the development of a new Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) system. This new system aims to create not only a user friendly interface but also a modern, stylish interface. To achieve this, the company has decided to work with a, for them, new application framework; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).System Andersson is well known for developing systems for different kinds of touch screens, this project is no exception. For this new user interface the company wishes to implement different types of Drag&Drop functionality.

The purpose of the study is to examine the Web phenomenon: Weblogs, and their significance for a total of eleven Library Heads and librarians together with their view on the Weblog activity at each library connected Weblog, to get comprehension and new knowledge on the usability of Weblogs in the library sector. The principal of this thesis is using the tool Easy5, which no longer is considered reliable enough in terms of development and support. This thesis tries to evaluate the Modelica language as a possible alternative to Easy5. To make this evaluation, the components concerned in the fuel library in Easy5 are implemented to the Modelica language.

These studies are done in behalf of Saab AB AVITRONICS in Järfälla in the form of a thesis atthe Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.The task was to examine the parameters that plays a role in the construction of modern radomesoperating in broadband applications.This was interesting for Saab to get an indication of which way they should go at the newdevelopment of radomes for the next generation of equipment for electronic warfare.After a thorough analysis of the influencing parameters, a optimization application was made toget a automated way to get a radome design by specifying data on the radome size, airloads,materials, etc.This is to minimise the time of the laborious work that radome development.inply.This was solved by letting ANSYS calculate the strength of the radome structure and MATLABcalculate electromagnetic data and cost models of different sizes and materials.All these parameters woven together with the optimization tool modeFrontier picks data from therespective program and perform an optimization algorithm and then iterate a step and sends thisdata to calculation programs for the new input data. In the end, we have received a convergedpoint with our optimal solution.For the presumptions and limitations for which applied for this thesis, the result was prettyintuitive. That is to say that the smaller radome - the less materal is needed and lowermanufacturing costs results in the cheapest solution possible. The reality is not so simple. In today's society, the availability of energy plays an integral part in our everyday lives. Unfortunately, the price of energy in Sweden has increased in recent decades. A large part of our energy consumption goes to heating modules for houses, where heating methods that depend on energy sources such as electricity, district heating, fuel oil, gas and biofuels are the most common ones. During the winter period, the increase in energy costs becomes significantly evident, especially for small property owners. This increase in energy cost is most noticeable for home owners with electric heating.This thesis is written at the Halmstad University, in cooperation with a company, which makes parts of this thesis confidential.

Researchers at Karlstad University have developed a method for making paper ion conducting. The reasearchers want to test this technique in various applications and produce products that make use of the ion-conducting paper. Hopefully this will drive the development forward and result in new applications for the ion-conducting paper.This study was to test the possibility of manufacturing a gas sensor of conducting paper along with electrodes of conductive polymers printed on the paper. By comparing the paper sensor with an electrochemical cell in which the electrodes of conductive polymer replaces electrodes of metal and ion-conductive paper replaces the liquid electrolyte in the electrochemical cell, it was hoped that it would be possible to measure the oxidation and reduction reactions that a gas could introduce at the electrodes.It was shown that it is possible to measure a potential difference in the range of 0.3 V to 0.5 V between the electrodes when exposing an electrode to 100% oxygen. The reaction that takes place is relatively slow and the reaction rate is partly due to the distance between the electrodes.Since the sensor can measure oxidation and reduction reactions it is possible that, in further development of a sensor, the sensor can be made ??into a versatile sensor with more applications than gas measurement as there are many more ways to oxidize or reduce the electrodes than by exposure to oxygen.During the study there have been discussions and meetings held with various companies in the sensor industry to be able to specify what the market demands of a sensor made ??of paper and the requirements that must be placed on the sensor for it to be interesting for the companies..

Having a functioning internal communication is necessary for the survival and existence of every company. Traditional communication channels are for example meetings, noteboards and personnel newspapers. During the last ten years we have witnessed an explosion of new channels, who are based on information technology. IT is a natural part in new IT-companies, like Framfab and Icon Medialab, but what role does IT have in a large, manufacturing company with a long history? The purpose with this thesis is to investigate how IT has influenced the internal communication in a company.

The development of defoaming additives is steadily progressing and there are therefore always new and improved additives on the market. Some modern additives provide the desired defoaming effects by themselves, in contrasts to previous additives that needed to be used in combination with other additives. The task of this bachelors thesis was to evaluate the possibility of using these improved defoaming additives, with the aim to find alternatives that give the system better defoaming attributes while, at the same time, using less of the primary products. The tests were carried out in the coating type Teknocryl Aqua Combi 2780. The coating is a waterborne air drying acrylat-latex/alkyd based coating that can be used for both single coat painting and primer.

Detta examensarbete behandlar en utredning om möjligheterna att genom syntetiska erfarenhetsvärden från ett energisimuleringsprogram kunna uppskatta energiprestandan i en kontorsbyggnad. Energisimuleringsprogrammet som använts är Integrated Environmental Solution Virtual Environment. En känslighetsanalys har genomförts för att undersöka vilka parametrar som har störst påverkan på energianvändningen. Uppvärmningstemperatur, kylningstemperatur, värmeväxlareffektivitet, WWR (fönsterandel sett till total väggarea) samt uteluftsflöde gav störst utslag och de har därför undersökts vidare. Dessa parametrar har i grupper om tre kombinerats på ett bestämt vis och vidare analyserats med fyra olika regressionsmodeller. De två mest intressanta regressionsmodellerna har genomgått flertalet kontroller för att säkerställa deras giltighet.

This report summarizes a Bachelor Degree Project in Integrated Product Development, carried out during the fall 2007 till spring 2008 by three students at the Product Design Engineering Program at the University of Skövde. The purpose of this project was to adjust one of their chairs. The project layout was to first make a preliminary investigation where the market, competitors? assortment and the purchasing process are studied.

En av Parocs produkter är sandwichpanel som är ett byggmaterial som kan variera i storlek och tjocklek och är funktionellt och smidigt. Uppdraget var att designa ett beslag för panelsystem som minst 50% av Paroc Panel Systems kunder skulle föredra framför de gamla, främst med avseende på estetiken, men även baserat på lätthet att montera och kostnad av beslaget. Projektet skedde i samverkan med företaget Paroc Panel System AB och ur förundersökningen framkom att utseende, monteringsmöjligheter, egenskaper såsom materials livslängd och hållfasthet och totalkostnad var viktiga krav som ställdes på produkten. Lösningsförslag med fokus på flera viktiga aspekter togs fram och kombinerades till olika koncept med hjälp av en så kallad morfologisk tabell. En konceptutvecklingsfas ingick där hållfasthetsberäkningar och materialval var avgörande.

The investigations centers around an embroidery, belonging to Tämta church, with unknown origin, use and age. The embroidery is long and narrow with applications in the form of dragons and eagles on a ground of velvet cloth. The dragons and eagles are covered with metal threads.
